Claimed benefits include higher yield, lower tooling costs, and dramatically reduced lead times compared to traditional investment casting. - **Materials & Capabilities**: Handles nickel, cobalt, and other superalloys (e.g., MAR‑M‑247, IN713LC, IN718); vacuum and air melt casting; surface finishes down to less than 10 µin Ra after superfinishing; supports DFM, NDT, heat treatment, HIP, machining, metallurgical analysis, and mechanical testing. ## Market Standing - **Valuation / Market Cap**: Not publicly available. - **Key Metric**: Total disclosed funding ≈ $200K Seed round (CB Insights); also secured a $1.43M U.S. Air Force SBIR Phase II award in 2025 (SBIR.gov). - **Notable Investors / Partners**: Berkeley SkyDeck (lead), TenOneTen Ventures, Pathbreaker Ventures, Calibrate Ventures, Shield Capital, and others. - **Growth Signals**: Headcount grew 63.6% year-over-year to ~15 employees (LinkedIn); website traffic up 190% yearly; awarded a significant SBIR contract in 2025; currently hiring for senior engineering and automation roles. ## Competitive Advantages - **Differentiated Process**: Replace the multi‑step traditional investment casting with a digital, ceramic‑mold additive process – fewer steps, less tooling cost, faster turnaround. - **Material Expertise**: Deep capability with nickel‑ and cobalt‑based superalloys critical for turbine components; supports high‑precision standards (AMS 2175 Grade A). - **Self‑Reinforcing Moat**: Combining proprietary equipment, software, and materials in a single “cyberfoundry” creates a hard-to-replicate system where machine, material, and data are continuously improved together. ## Strategic Focus - **Priorities**: Scale up production capacity for defense and aerospace customers; further reduce porosity and material waste; automate more steps in the foundry; expand team talent in casting engineering, equipment automation, and government program management. - **Direction**: Deepen partnerships with DoD primes and leverage SBIR wins to move from prototyping to low‑rate initial production. ## Why Work Here - **Impact & Challenge**: Opportunity to redefine a century‑old manufacturing process – ideal for engineers who want to build machines and software that directly shape next‑gen defense components. - **Culture**: Small, tight‑knit team (15–25 people reported); founded by UC Berkeley alumni; early‑stage energy with hands‑on work from concept to production. - **Work Policy**: On‑site / in‑office in Los Angeles (El Segundo) and Colorado offices – not remote. - **Tech Stack**: Uses PostgreSQL, Greenhouse (ATS), NetSuite, Oracle, Java, TypeScript, GraphQL, React, Git – a modern engineering environment. - **Benefits & Perks**: Not extensively documented, but the Built In profile indicates employees report strong growth opportunities and a sense of mission. ## Sources 1.
