Our Planners are a mix of strategic problem-solvers and creative analytical thinkers who love products. They analyse and forecast financial and product trends, review the performance of our products, and make sure that sufficient stock is available. They also work with brands and suppliers to negotiate price structures, delivery dates, specific merchandise requirements and contracts so that we continue to meet our goals. We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Planning Manager to join our growing Men, Kids & Home team to help us evolve the landscape of Australian e-commerce and fashion. Reporting to the Planning Director, this role will be responsible for driving the Menswear, Kids & Home Planning team & working closely with departmental planning teams. As part of the planning team you will be responsible for maximising business profits and meeting the strategic direction of the business through effective management of merchandise from conception to sale. As the leader in the Men's Planning team you will support, coach and mentor team members to achieve business goals. ## About the Role - Drives the segment strategy and contributes to the wider business strategy - Develops a mid to long term strategic view to drive growth and profit for the segment that compliments the company mid to long term targets - Rolls up and presents the over segment strategy, ensuring a comprehensive strategy pack backed by a solid financial plan is delivered and implemented - Leads company wide projects from a Category Management view, providing support and ensures completion - Suggests actions to take based on potential future concerns, either based on economic or social trends - Anticipates the Manager’s needs and prepares documentation, analysis or responses ahead of time - Works closely with the Manager to maximize profit for the season - Monitors all facets of the segment, implements plans for any underperforming departments and identifies ways to potentialize opportunities to still deliver segment KPI’s - Drives the focus for marketing campaigns and support. - Ensures promotional activity delivers the best possible outcome, retaining margin - Supports Company Planning with management of reporting Company wide and Global - Works closely with other Planning Managers to have a united Category Management approach - Collaborates cross functionally, establishing strong relationships with key departments. - Drives projects and improvements that require support and input from key stakeholders across the business - Challenges, develops and inspires their team. - Demonstrates strong communication and management skills, ensures deadlines are met and the team have a clear understanding of what is required of them at all times ## Key Skills - Previous experience working for an eCommerce Fashion retailer is desirable - 5+ years in Merchandise planning Management is desirable - Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills - Expert knowledge of Excel - Strong commercial acumen & instinctive trading skills - Ability to communicate at all levels with an open and honest approach - Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines & work under pressure - Proactive mindset with the ambition to drive improvements - Thinking ahead mentality to continuously challenge the status quo - Collaborates cross departmentally, establishing strong relationships with other Category Management departments.
