Moving to a new country shouldn’t mean starting from zero. That's why our team of 400+ spanning 20+ countries is building a financial ecosystem that helps immigrants stay connected to home, build stability, and create wealth regardless of where they are from or where they live. What began as fast, affordable remittances is now evolving into a complete platform for multi-currency accounts, payments, credit, and long-term financial growth. With millions of users across the globe, we process over $1B in monthly transactions to 30+ countries, proving that borders shouldn't limit financial opportunity. ## About the role LemFi is the financial engine for people the world was not built to serve - we move money, store it, grow it, and lend it across 21 countries and counting. Our Irish entity is a regulated payment institution under the Central Bank of Ireland, and as we grow across Europe this licence becomes more critical by the day. We need a designated MLRO (PCF52) who can own the Irish compliance function with confidence, be the face of LemFi with the CBI and FIU Ireland, and keep our AML/CFT programme sharp enough to withstand serious regulatory scrutiny. This is not a policy-maintenance role. You will sit on the compliance leadership team, contribute to the group framework, and be the expert voice the business leans on when Irish and EU regulatory requirements shift. You will manage relationships with banking and payments partners, submit STRs and regulatory filings, and hold the line on standards - while staying genuinely collaborative with a team that moves fast. ## What you'll build and own - Own the Irish AML/CFT programme end to end - policy, procedures, controls, training, and MI - ensuring full alignment with the Criminal Justice Acts 2010 to 2021, CBI guidelines, and EU AML directives as transposed into Irish law. - Act as designated MLRO (PCF52): receive, assess, and report suspicious transactions to FIU Ireland and ROS, and oversee the investigation, escalation, and documentation of all STRs. - Be the primary point of contact with the Central Bank of Ireland, FIU Ireland, banking partners, and other competent authorities - managing inspections, correspondence, notifications, and licensing obligations. - Lead and manage internal and external AML/CFT audits, own the remediation tracker, and make sure findings are closed properly and on time. - Prepare board-level MI and compliance reports that give Directors and Senior Management a clear, honest picture of the Irish risk environment - not sanitised summaries. - Collaborate with global compliance counterparts to embed Irish regulatory requirements into the group framework, and support wider LemFi Group compliance initiatives as they arise. - Use AI tools to accelerate drafting of regulatory correspondence, policy documents, and compliance reports - applying rigorous self-validation before anything goes out the door. ## Your experience - At least 5 years in a senior compliance or MLRO role within an Irish or EU-regulated financial services or payments institution, with direct PCF or CF designation experience strongly preferred. - Comprehensive, working knowledge of the Criminal Justice (Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing) Acts 2010 to 2021, CBI AML/CFT requirements, and the EU AML Directives as transposed into Irish law. - Proven track record of direct regulatory engagement with the Central Bank of Ireland or equivalent competent authority - inspections, supervisory queries, licensing applications. - Experience managing or mentoring compliance staff and driving operational improvements in a live, regulated environment. - Strong analytical skills with comfort handling data: able to review MI, identify patterns in transaction monitoring outputs, and present findings clearly to a Board. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - you can translate dense regulatory text into clear business guidance and write board-ready reports without a communications team. - Demonstrable ability to operate in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment where the regulatory rulebook and the business are both evolving simultaneously. ## Nice to have - CAMS certification or equivalent professional AML qualification. - Experience working within a group compliance structure across multiple jurisdictions. - Familiarity with regtech or transaction monitoring platforms used in payments or remittance businesses.
