We enable anyone to build their own programmable internet network, in seconds. Today, bandwidth is bought and sold through slow, private, one-off deals, with almost no price transparency. Only the largest tech companies have escaped this, by spending billions to build their own physical networks. Share is giving that power to everyone. Infrastructure providers sell their services in the Share Marketplace; giving builders, AI agents and enterprises the ability to build their own global backbone via an API layer. The path, the performance, how long they need it and paying only for what they use. ## The Role Our network is the foundation of the product. Every route a customer provisions through our API has to exist, perform and stay up on real hardware. We're hiring a Senior Network Developer to design and build that network as software: a distributed, multi-provider fabric that engineers change through code, not by logging into devices. You'll own the network architecture end to end. That covers our BGP edge (transit, peering at KIXP and LINX, private interconnects with hyperscalers), the backbone, and the PoPs and data centers we're adding across the continent. You'll set the standards our network is built to, which partner ISPs connecting to us will inherit. As we grow, you'll also help build the network engineering team. ## What you'll do - Design the backbone and PoP architecture as standard, repeatable building blocks, from edge to data center, so we can add capacity and new markets without redesigning each time. - Drive our move to Segment Routing and a clean IP architecture, including IPv4 reuse, IPv6, and how customer and internal address space coexist. - Build on disaggregated white-box hardware (Edgecore with IP Infusion OcNOS today), and make the hardware and software calls that keep us fast and affordable. - Turn operations into software. That means a source of truth (Nautobot), templated config (Jinja), and CI/CD with validation, staged rollouts and rollback for every change. - Build the telemetry and observability that show what the network is really doing. Use AI where it actually helps: anomaly detection, automated triage, and auto-remediation with a human in the loop. - Own availability. Limit how much any failure can affect, mitigate first and diagnose second, and turn post-mortems into fixes in the system. - Work with our software team on the API and provisioning layer that exposes the network to customers, and with partner ISPs' engineers on the hand-off. - Help hire and develop the engineers who'll run this with you. Our Ideal Candidate - 8+ years building and operating large networks at a hyperscaler, CDN, internet exchange, carrier or ISP. - Deep BGP at scale: route policy, communities, RPKI, traffic engineering, peering and transit. - Strong data center and backbone design. You know Clos/EVPN-VXLAN fabrics and MPLS or Segment Routing, and when each makes sense. - Hands-on with white-box or disaggregated networking, including choosing hardware and knowing where the silicon limits you. - You treat the network as code. You write automation yourself (Python or similar), and you've built or run the pipelines, source of truth and telemetry that make that safe. - You've owned availability for something that couldn't go down, and can walk us through a real incident: what broke, how you found it, and what you changed. - AI-native in how you work. You've built with these tools, not just used them, and you have a view on where they help in operations and where they don't. - You think like an owner. You bring ideas, not tickets, and you want to help build a team, not just a network. - A clear, direct communicator who's comfortable with partners' engineers and with our founders. ## Nice to have - Experience at an internet exchange, or running peering at scale. - Open networking stacks like SONiC, OcNOS or FRR, or contributions to them. - Streaming telemetry (gNMI/gRPC, sFlow), and building your own monitoring tooling. - 400G/800G and optical (ZR) deployments, including vendor selection and certification. - Access networks (GPON/XGS-PON) and MikroTik or Huawei gear, since many partner ISPs run it. - Building networks in emerging markets such as Africa or Latin America. - DDoS mitigation at the edge. If you don't tick every box but have built and run large networks in production, apply anyway. ## Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary and meaningful equity in a venture-backed company (US-incorporated, with a Kenya operating entity) ## About Share ## Company Overview - **One-liner**: Share is building Africa's largest open-access internet network by coordinating fragmented telecom infrastructure (subsea cables, fiber, data centers) into a single interoperable ecosystem for ISPs, hyperscalers, and AI companies. - **Entity Type**: Private (Venture-backed; Seed round announced April 2026) - **Headquarters**: New York, United States (with operations in Kenya, Spain, Poland, and France) - **Founded**: 2024 - **Founders**: Omar Pederzoli (Co-Founder), Jose Muñoz Aycart (Co-Founder), Luis Munoz Aycart (Co-Founder) ## Core Business - **Primary Industry**: Telecommunications / Internet Infrastructure - **Target Customers**: B2B — ISPs (Internet Service Providers), hyperscalers, AI companies, and network operators across Africa - **Mission**: To connect the next billion people to the internet by making fragmented infrastructure work as one network — treating connectivity as a human right. ## Products & Services - **Open-Access Network Platform**: A coordination layer that aggregates underutilized telecom infrastructure (fiber, subsea cables, data centers) and provides ISPs with scalable backhaul capacity, management tools, and access to capital. - **Bandwidth Marketplace**: Acts as a financial and operational layer, enabling ISPs to offer high-speed (up to 1 Gbps) internet plans without upfront capacity costs. - **Funding & Payments**: Provides network operators with access to capital and consolidated payment processing (receiving all payments in one place). ## Market Standing - **Valuation/Market Cap**: Not publicly disclosed - **Key Metric**: Total Funding — Seed round announced April 2026 (amount undisclosed). Currently 11 employees but active job postings for 35 roles, indicating aggressive scaling. - **Notable Investors/Partners**: Greenfield Capital (lead), Kosmos Ventures, Generative Ventures, Zee Prime Capital, and strategic angels. - **Growth Signals**: 16 providers, 6,000+ km of fiber, 10 data centers, 8M+ people reached across East Africa. In May 2026, ISPs on Share's network began offering 1 Gbps plans without raising costs — 100x speed increases at same price points. 35 active job openings despite only 11 current employees. ## Competitive Advantages - **Coordination Moat**: Rather than building new infrastructure, Share solves the harder problem of making existing (fragmented) infrastructure work together — a financial and operational layer that is difficult to replicate. - **First-Mover in Open-Access Model for Africa**: No other company is aggregating disparate telecom assets into a single marketplace at this scale on the continent. - **Speed-to-Cost Disruption**: Delivering 100x faster internet to end users without increasing ISP costs, fundamentally changing the economics of African connectivity. - **Strong Investor Backing**: Led by Greenfield Capital, with deep-tech/crypto-native investors (Zee Prime, Generative Ventures) suggesting a novel financial/blockchain approach to infrastructure coordination. - **Decentralized / Community-Owned Architecture**: Branded as "everyone's internet" with a community-owned ethos, differentiating from traditional telco models. ## Strategic Focus - **Scaling the Network**: Expanding coverage across East Africa and beyond, connecting more providers and more people. - **Hiring Deeply Technical Talent**: Currently recruiting aggressively for network engineers, systems engineers, and software engineers — VP of Network Engineering is a priority hire. - **Building the Financial Layer**: Developing the payment and capital access infrastructure that makes the coordination model work at scale. - **Employer Brand & Talent Attraction**: Hiring their first Founding Recruiter indicates a deliberate effort to build a strong talent brand and scalable recruiting operation. ## Why Work Here - **Remote-First Culture**: Work from anywhere you do your best thinking; team spans London, Cape Town, Nairobi, France, Spain, and Poland. - **Founder-Led Environment**: Direct partnership with founders on hiring philosophy, compensation strategy, and company direction — high ownership, low bureaucracy. - **Meaningful Equity**: Early-stage equity with standard vesting, competitive salary. - **Massive Impact**: Connecting the next billion people to the internet in Africa — work that literally changes lives at continental scale. - **Engineering-Heavy Culture**: 50% of current staff are technical (network, systems, software engineering). Tech stack includes Kubernetes, Terraform, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, React, TypeScript, Python, Docker, Prometheus, Grafana, and more. - **AI-Ready Environment**: Comfort with AI-assisted tools and automation workflows is valued. - **High-Growth Trajectory**: 35 open roles vs 11 current employees signals hypergrowth — early employees will define the company's culture and processes. ## Sources 1.
