We are looking for a Japan Operations Business Partner who can serve as the primary bridge between Business, Operations, Product, Compliance, and local market stakeholders to drive strategic initiatives that improve customer experience, operational efficiency, and regulatory readiness.

This role combines traditional Operations Business Partner responsibilities with a strong focus on Japan's evolving regulatory landscape and market needs. The successful candidate will act as the local Operations PoC in Japan, partnering closely with GTM, Compliance, Legal, Product, KYC, and Customer Care teams to identify business and customer pain points, translate regulatory requirements into practical solutions, and drive strategic programs from concept through execution.

The role requires a highly consultative professional who can influence stakeholders, navigate ambiguity, and balance customer experience, business growth, operational scalability, and regulatory compliance.

## What you’ll do

- Serve as the voice of the Japan market, building deep understanding of local customer needs, business priorities, operational challenges, and market trends to influence global decision-making.
- Act as the primary Operations partner for Japan, collaborating closely with GTM, Compliance, Product, KYC, Customer Care, and regional leadership teams to drive business outcomes.
- Lead regulatory and licensing readiness initiatives, translating evolving Japanese regulatory requirements into scalable operational processes, controls, and customer journeys.
- Identify and drive solutions for customer and operational pain points, partnering with cross-functional teams to improve onboarding, servicing experiences, operational efficiency, and risk management.
- Represent local business requirements in global programs and product roadmaps, ensuring Japan-specific needs are appropriately prioritized and addressed.
- Engage with external stakeholders, including regulatory advisors, industry partners, and local vendors, to evaluate solutions and support strategic decision-making.
- Drive cross-functional transformation programs from concept to execution, managing stakeholder alignment, governance, risk mitigation, and operational readiness

## Who you are -

- 7+ years of experience in management consulting, business transformation, operations strategy, regulatory consulting, financial services, fintech, or related fields.
- Strong understanding of the Japanese financial services ecosystem and regulatory environment.
- Demonstrated experience leading complex cross-functional initiatives involving multiple business and operational stakeholders.
- Experience translating business, operational, and regulatory requirements into practical solutions.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, stakeholder management, and program management skills.
- Native or fluent Japanese and business-level English.
