Today, more than 25 million customers and over 130,000 partner merchants depend on Tamara every day for reliable financial solutions across retail, travel, education, healthcare, and beyond. Tamara is backed by Sanabil Investments, a wholly owned company of the Public Investment Fund (PIF), and SNB Capital, among others. ## Your role The Partner Onboarding Advisor is responsible for executing Tamara’s merchant onboarding steps end-to-end for assigned merchants—focusing on accuracy, SLA adherence, and a smooth merchant experience. The role owns KYB, compliance and fraud checks, integration coordination, and activating merchants/partners for go-live readiness. ## Your responsibilities 1. Merchant intake & case ownership - Pick up assigned merchants from the relevant queue/view, take ownership, and manage the case through activation/go-live. - Monitor and work on support queues for merchants who are not live yet; action tickets promptly and correctly, ensure all actions/decisions are documented in internal notes, and communicate clearly and professionally with merchants throughout the full ticket lifecycle (updates, requests, and resolution). - Make proactive follow-up calls with merchants that have pending actions (e.g., missing go-live requirements, pending integration steps on the merchant side, or pending contract signature) to unblock progress, reduce average time-to-go-live, improve conversion rates by increasing the % of merchants who complete pending actions and go live, and improve NPS by creating a more supportive onboarding journey. 1. KYB & document collection/validation - Validate submitted documents (CR/Trade License/Freelancer certificate, ID, IBAN, VAT where applicable) and ensure they meet minimum validity and quality requirements. - Confirm consistency across documents and system fields (legal names, expiry dates, authorized signatory, entity type). - Proactively follow up to request missing information, requirements, or documents. 1. Compliance & fraud checks - Ensure required checks are completed and recorded per process; escalate unclear or exception cases via defined escalation paths. 1. Integration & activation readiness - Coordinate with relevant internal teams (e.g., Integrations, Risk/Compliance/Trust & Safety) to unblock merchants and progress integration/activation steps. - Support merchants through blockers to go live via support queues and follow-ups. 1. Support queues & KYB updates - Work support queues to help merchants who are facing blockers to go live. - Validate and process changes for merchants updating their KYB information, ensuring updates are correct and compliant. 1. Merchant communication & follow-ups - Maintain clear, professional communication with merchants through approved channels. - A significant part of the role is calling merchants to follow up and request missing information/documents to keep cases moving within SLA. ## Your expertise - 0–2 years experience in onboarding, operations, customer operations, compliance operations, KYC/KYB, or a similar process-driven role. - Strong attention to detail and comfort working with checklists, evidence, and audit-ready documentation. - Ability to manage a queue and prioritize by SLA/impact. - Clear written communication and professional stakeholder management. - Comfortable working in English. - Familiarity with KYB/KYC concepts and screening/risk workflows. - Experience using Salesforce (or similar CRM) for case management. - Experience working in fintech, payments, marketplaces, or regulated environments ## About Tamara ## Company Overview - **One-liner**: Tamara is the leading fintech platform in Saudi Arabia and the GCC region, offering Sharia-compliant buy now, pay later (BNPL) and payment solutions through a customer-centric financial super-app. - **Entity Type**: Private (Series? – Unicorn stage, backed by top investors) - **Headquarters**: Riyadh, Saudi Arabia (King Abdullah Branch Road, King Salman District) - **Founded**: 2020 - **Founders**: Not publicly available (company was founded in 2020 by a team; individual founder names not disclosed in provided sources) ## Core Business - **Primary industry/industries**: Fintech (BNPL, payments, consumer finance) - **Target customers**: B2C (consumers) and B2B (merchants, from SMBs to global brands) - **Mission or purpose statement**: “To help people make their dreams come true by building the most customer-centric financial super-app on earth” (from Greenhouse careers page) / “Empower people in their daily lives and revolutionize how they shop, pay, and bank” (from docs.tamara.co) ## Products & Services For each major offering: - **Tamara Bundle**: Includes Pay in Full and Split in 2/3/4 payment products – flexible, transparent, no hidden fees or interest. - **Split in Installments**: Allows customers to split purchase amounts into multiple installments (varies by retail category and ticket size). - **Pay in Full**: Customers pay the total order value upfront via Tamara, with no added fees or interest. - **Online & In-store Solutions**: Tamara’s payment methods work both for e-commerce and physical retail. - **Merchant Services**: Boost conversion and AOV, reduce fraud/credit risk, receive upfront payment while customers pay over time, and manage transactions/returns via a dashboard. ## Market Standing - **Valuation/Market Cap**: $2.107 billion (as of latest funding round – CB Insights lists valuation at $2.107B, making Tamara Saudi Arabia’s first fintech unicorn) - **Key Metric**: Total funding raised = $2.107 billion (includes equity and lines of credit; latest round was a Line of Credit - II of $1.4B about 9 months ago) - **Notable Investors/Partners**: Sanabil Investments (wholly owned by PIF), SNB Capital, Checkout.com, Goldman Sachs, Citi Alternative Investments, Apollo Global Management, W2 Investments, Shorooq Partners (22+ investors total).
