You’ll own the key moments in the participant journey: driving conversion at every stage, building engagement that lasts, and inviting others into the conversation. The ideal candidate is a growth-minded product builder who knows what moves a funnel and can prove it. They are comfortable moving from data to decision: finding the drop-off between idea and goal voting, designing the test that fixes it, then building the habit loop that brings participants back for the next round. They use AI on real work and are building toward making it a consistent part of how they operate. Most critically they want to be part of a pragmatic and ambitious team made up of the best people in the world operating with integrity and urgency. This is a chance to help millions of people take part in democracy, and to make that participation stick. More on the problem space: Democracy is under strain. Only 28% of Americans say they are satisfied with how it works today, the lowest level ever recorded. At the same time, AI-driven economic and social disruption will demand faster, more effective government responses than our institutions are built to deliver. We are building a product to surface the public will on major issues by combining large-scale civic input with informed, representative dialogue, then activate that will at scale by mobilizing millions to shift the incentives that shape public policy. By using the same technologies that threaten democratic legitimacy, we aim to give citizens more voice than ever before, identify shared agreement across political differences, and enable collective intelligence at scale. [Change.org](http://Change.org) is a public benefit company and the world’s largest social change platform, with 100M users and more than 40,000 campaigns launched monthly. Our 100% user-generated revenue model enables us to invest in new products that support healthier, more participatory democracies worldwide. This team will operate as a start-up within [Change.org](http://Change.org), benefiting from strong culture, stability and mission orientation. Key Outcomes: - Diagnose the funnel. Set a shared baseline for conversion, CAC, and return rates across Ideas for Change, pinpoint the biggest drop-off points, and build the growth plan the team executes against. - Improve the end-to-end voting journey. Ship improvements across activation, idea, goal, and policy voting that measurably lift conversion from one stage to the next. - Build engagement that lasts. Create the touchpoints and habits that bring participants back through each round of voting, from ideas to goals to policies. - Drive growth for Ideas for Change. Optimize the ad-to-landing-page funnel, and grow earned reach by amplifying social sharing and viral loops. The most important core competencies for the role are: - Growth Strategy & Funnel Judgment: You understand what drives acquisition, conversion, and CAC across a funnel, from ad to landing page to first vote, and you build strategic plans to grow it. - Experimentation & Data Fluency: You use data to find where participants drop off between idea, goal, and policy voting, and you design tests that tell you why. - Participant Journey Ownership: You own the experience from activation through idea, goal, and policy voting, making sure every session ends in meaningful engagement. - Engagement & Retention Design: You design the moments and habits that bring participants back through each round of voting. - Cross-Functional Collaboration: You bring design, engineering, data, and other teams along on growth bets and align them on what to test and why. - AI Practice: You use AI tools on real work today and are actively building the habits that make your results consistent. Target experience: - 8+ years of product management experience, including significant experience owning growth, engagement, or conversion outcomes for a consumer-facing product - Experience owning a multi-step user funnel end to end, from acquisition to repeated use, with a clear story of what moved the numbers - Experimentation experience from hypothesis to decision in a high-traffic consumer product - Proficiency designing retention and re-engagement through habits, triggers, and return loops that bring users back over time, not just within a single session - Background driving earned or organic growth through sharing, referral, or viral loops Interested?
