At Badge, we believe mobile wallets are the next big customer engagement channel, and we make it easy for enterprise brands and platforms to build in and monetize experiences in Apple and Google Wallets. From loyalty cards to stored value cards, memberships, IDs, and tickets, Badge helps brands drive retention, reactivation, and revenue by turning wallets into a powerful marketing channel. The Badge platform consists of a no-code UI for marketers, flexible APIs for developers, and an embed/SDK for platform partners, enabling companies to create dynamic wallet experiences with in-wallet push notifications, location-based notifications, offers, coupons, tap-to-redeem, and more. We are a fast-growing team backed by leading investors, including QED and Infinity, and trusted by top-tier retailers, grocers, and partner institutions including Shift4, Carrefour, Hoka, and Yale University. We value sharp thinking, fast execution, and a deep understanding of what drives customer behavior in a mobile-first world. Position Overview We are looking for a Principal Solutions Architect to serve as a trusted technical advisor to our most strategic enterprise customers and prospects. This is a high-visibility role where you will be the technical voice in the room with CTOs, CPOs, and engineering leadership, translating Badge's platform into solutions that map directly to business outcomes. The ideal candidate brings executive presence, deep technical fluency, and a track record of leading complex technical scoping engagements where infrastructure ownership, data readiness, and stakeholder alignment were all ambiguous. Prior wallet experience is not required. What matters is the ability to walk into a messy enterprise situation, map the critical path, and drive it to resolution. ## What You Will Do - Lead executive-level discovery sessions with CTOs, CPOs, and VPs of Engineering to understand prospect architecture, business goals, and integration requirements. - Own the technical narrative throughout the pre-sales cycle, including live demos, proof-of-concept scoping, and solution presentations to senior stakeholders. - Lead complex technical scoping for enterprise integrations and migrations during the pre-sales phase, where ownership, data readiness, and sequencing are ambiguous. Identify blockers, map critical paths, and drive alignment across engineering teams on both sides of a deal. - Design integration architectures and onboarding workflows tailored to specific customer constraints, and hand off cleanly to Customer Success at contract close. - Respond to RFPs and technical questionnaires with detailed, accurate information about Badge's capabilities. - Surface pre-sales insights with Product and Engineering to improve the platform and onboarding experience. - Partner with Sales leadership on strategic accounts as a peer to customer engineering leadership throughout the pre-sales cycle. ## What You Bring to the Table - Based in the Northeast corridor for proximity to key customers and prospects, with occasional travel to customer sites and industry events. - 5 to 8 years of experience in Solutions Architecture, Sales Engineering, or senior customer-facing technical roles in B2B SaaS. - Track record of owning technical sales cycles end-to-end, collaborating closely with account executives and sales leadership on demos, POCs, and RFP responses. - Demonstrated experience engaging with CTO, CPO, and VP-level stakeholders. You lead those rooms, not just participate in them. - Proven ability to scope and drive complex enterprise integrations or migrations where the technical landscape was not clean or well-documented coming in. - Strong executive presence with the ability to adapt your message for engineering teams and business leadership alike. - Solid understanding of REST APIs, webhooks, and modern integration patterns. - Experience with mobile development concepts and mobile platform ecosystems (iOS/Android). - Familiarity with enterprise software architectures, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and SaaS integrations. - Based on the East Coast. This role involves regular travel to customer sites and industry events in the region. ## Preferred Qualifications - Experience in payments, fintech, marketing technology, loyalty systems, or retail technology. - Background in platforms with complex data ownership and multi-stakeholder environments. - Familiarity with CRM systems (Salesforce) and sales engagement tools. - Understanding of enterprise security, compliance standards, and data privacy regulations. - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field. - Northeast Corridor region preferred. ## What We Offer - Competitive base salary plus commission/bonus tied to Sales team performance. - Equity package with significant upside potential. - Comprehensive benefits including health, dental, and vision. - Flexible PTO and remote-first culture. - Direct access to product and engineering leadership. - Opportunity to become a recognized expert in a fast-growing mobile engagement category. Success Metrics - Contribution to Sales team quota attainment. - Customer satisfaction scores across technical interactions, demos, and executive engagements. - Customer onboarding and implementation success metrics. ## About Badge ## Company Overview - **One-liner**: Badge is an operating platform that enables enterprise brands and platforms to build, deploy, and measure dynamic customer experiences in Apple Wallet, Google Wallet, and Samsung Wallet. - **Entity Type**: Private (Backed by QED and Infinity Ventures; funding stage not publicly detailed) - **Headquarters**: San Francisco, California, USA (with offices in New York City and Vancouver, Canada) - **Founded**: Not publicly available (likely around 2021-2022 based on market context) - **Founders**: Eric Senn (CEO), Stanley Tran (Head of Product), Tyler Jones (Head of Engineering), Jason Senn (Strategic Partnerships) ## Core Business - **Primary industry**: Mobile wallet infrastructure / Customer engagement platform - **Target customers**: B2B — Enterprise brands, retailers, grocers, and platform partners (e.g., Shift4, Carrefour, Hoka, Yale University) - **Mission**: To make mobile wallets the most valuable connection point for businesses and their customers. ## Products & Services - **Badge Platform**: A unified API layer across Apple, Google, and Samsung Wallets for creating loyalty cards, stored value cards, memberships, IDs, and tickets. - **No-Code UI for Marketers**: Allows marketing teams to create and manage wallet campaigns without engineering support. - **Flexible APIs for Developers**: High-volume APIs for custom integrations with CRM, CDP, POS, and mobile apps. - **Embeddable SDK**: White-label solution for platforms to offer wallet capabilities to downstream merchants. - **Engagement Features**: In-wallet push notifications, geofenced offers, tap-to-redeem, and personalized content. - **Analytics & Measurement**: Tools to measure usage, engagement, transactions, and ROI per campaign. ## Market Standing - **Valuation**: Not publicly disclosed - **Key Metric**: Total funding not publicly disclosed; backed by QED and Infinity Ventures (notable fintech and infrastructure VCs) - **Notable Investors/Partners**: QED Investors, Infinity Ventures; official partners with Apple Wallet (Apple Badge partner), Google Wallet (Premier Partner), and Samsung Wallet; downstream merchants supported: 200k+ - **Growth Signals**: Trusted by top-tier brands including Shift4, Carrefour, Hoka, and Yale University; boasts 4% increase in purchase frequency and 90% increase in campaign redemption; localized for 70+ countries; SOC 2 Type 2 certified ## Competitive Advantages - **Platform Partnerships**: Official partner with all three major mobile wallet providers (Apple, Google, Samsung) - **Enterprise-Grade Security**: End-to-end encryption, SOC 2 Type 2 certified, GDPR ready, native wallet security - **Unified API Layer**: Consistent behavior across different wallet ecosystems, reducing integration complexity - **Dual Audience**: Serves both marketers (no-code) and developers (APIs), covering the full customer journey - **White-Label Capability**: Embeddable SDK allows platform partners to offer wallet features under their own brand ## Strategic Focus - Scaling the platform to support more enterprise brands and platform partners globally - Deepening wallet integrations and adding new capabilities (live updates, location-based offers) - Expanding the embed/SDK model to power wallet experiences through downstream merchant networks - Growing the engineering team to build high-volume APIs and robust testing infrastructure ## Why Work Here - **Hybrid Culture**: Primarily remote with in-person collaboration one day per week in North Vancouver (for Vancouver-based roles); San Francisco and New York offices also available - **Engineering Philosophy**: Full-stack ownership of customer journey from UI to APIs; modern stack (React/TypeScript, Node.js, Express, Prisma, PostgreSQL) - **Impact**: Opportunity to work on a platform used by thousands of users daily, with direct line of sight to business outcomes - **Compensation**: Competitive salary ($140k–$170k for senior roles), equity, comprehensive benefits - **Team**: Small, fast-moving team (1-10 employees per The Org) backed by top-tier VCs; values sharp thinking, fast execution, and deep understanding of mobile-first customer behavior ## Sources 1.
