The Procurement Manager is responsible for organizing and supervising procurement activities that include but are not limited to: (i) managing and tracking the request for proposal (RFP) lifecycle; (ii) negotiating preferential pricing; (iii) establishing and tracking towards savings targets; and (iv) performing other commercial and transactional activities. Essential functions of the job include but are not limited to: - Developing and implementing procurement strategies that align with the company’s objectives. - Managing the solicitation process, including reviewing/comparing specifications and costs and where appropriate supporting negotiation with vendors to reduce costs. - Negotiating terms and conditions with suppliers to ensure the best possible prices and agreements. - Developing tools and processes to support efficient and quality driven procurement activities. - Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of the industry’s market trends and developments. - Leading transformational activities to build organizational procurement capabilities and improve procurement efficiency. - Delivering value and competitive advantage measured by cost reduction and cost avoidance, vendor-enabled innovation, and risk mitigation. - Ensuring compliance in purchasing process, especially in vendor selection and bidding.
