Instead of constructing each plant on-site from scratch - a process that takes 10-15 years and is too expensive and unpredictable to finance - we build our plants like ships: in a factory, on an assembly line, then transport and assemble them at the site. This cuts costs by over 60% and brings plants online in just three years. We also pair natural gas with nuclear at our sites, so customers can start receiving power from gas turbines right away and then switch over to clean nuclear power once it comes online - getting energy to the grid faster while nuclear is being built. Our mission is to make nuclear energy abundant, affordable, and repeatable at global scale. We use proven, already-approved reactor designs and work with existing nuclear and industrial sites, giving us a faster path to regulatory approval. By manufacturing this way, we put nuclear power on the same cost-reduction curve that has made wind, solar, and batteries cheaper every year. ## Role Overview The Procurement Lead is responsible for overseeing and managing procurement and supply chain activity across both Owner and Contractor workstreams on Blue Energy's capital programme. The role covers the full purchase order lifecycle - from sourcing and bid management through administration, change control, invoice reconciliation, and close-out - ensuring procurement activity is compliant, well-documented, and commercially controlled. ## Key Responsibilities - Oversee and manage both Owner and Contractor project procurement through the full purchase order lifecycle – create, issue, revise, and close out purchase orders, call-off orders, and task orders against master service agreements (MSAs) and equipment supply agreements. - Oversee and manage the preparation and validation of change orders and contract amendments, ensuring each change is priced, approved, and documented before work proceeds. - Support the drafting, issuance, and administration of MSAs, service contracts, NDAs, and amendments in coordination with Contracts and Legal. - Ensure the Owner and Contractor procurement teams maintain contract and purchase order data in the contract lifecycle management (CLM) and ERP systems, ensuring records, values, dates, and supplier information are accurate and current. - Oversee sourcing and procurement activities for Owner and Contractor, including assembling bid packages and requests for quotation, distributing them to bidders, tracking supplier responses, and compiling commercial bid tabulations. - Oversee supplier onboarding and pre-qualification, including vendor set-up, collection of insurance certificates and compliance documentation, and tracking of expiries and renewals. - Support Procure-to-Pay (P2P) activities – review purchase requisitions for completeness and accuracy, verify pricing and terms against the governing agreement, and expedite approvals in line with the delegation of authority. - Oversee the reconciliation of invoices, receipts, and purchase order balances; investigate and resolve discrepancies with suppliers, Accounts Payable, and requisitioners. - Expedite orders and track deliveries, milestones, and progress payments, escalating schedule or commercial issues to the Sr. Manager, Supply Chain and Program Manager. - Ensure procurement activity complies with applicable laws and regulations, anti-corruption and ethics requirements, and Blue Energy policies, procedures, and delegation of authority. - Maintain organized, audit-ready procurement records and prepare routine reporting on open orders, commitments, spend, change orders, and supplier performance. - Support contract and purchase order close-out, including final reconciliation, release of retention or holdbacks, warranty follow-up, and records retention. - Serve as a day-to-day point of contact for Owner procurement team and Contractor Procurement lead as well as suppliers and internal stakeholders on purchase order status, documentation, and administrative queries. ## Qualifications - 10+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, contract administration, or supply chain support, ideally on major capital projects in the energy, mining, or infrastructure sector. - Hands-on experience administering purchase orders, change orders, and agreements from issuance through close-out. - Working knowledge of procurement and Procure-to-Pay processes, including requisitioning, approvals, receipting, and invoice reconciliation. - Baseline familiarity with common commercial terms and conditions (e.g., payment, delivery, warranty, insurance, and liquidated damages). - Proficiency with the MS Office suite – particularly Excel – and comfort working in ERP and CLM systems. - Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage and prioritize a high volume of transactions in a fast-paced environment, and excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience with a relevant professional certification will be considered. ## Preferred Qualifications - Experience supporting major energy or infrastructure projects (e.g., oil and gas, LNG, power, shipbuilding, or renewables). - Experience performing procurement activities in accordance with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NQA-1) requirements. - Familiarity with owner/operator contracting on major capital projects, including services, and equipment supply agreements. - Experience with ERP and P2P systems (e.g., SAP Ariba, Coupa, Oracle, or NetSuite) and with CLM tools. - Experience administering supplier insurance compliance and pre-qualification programs. - Professional certification such as CPSM, CIPS, or CPP (or working toward one). We look forward to your application and helping foster an era of safe, clean, affordable, and abundant energy. Blue Energy is dedicated to building a diverse and inclusive workplace. If you’re excited about this role but your experience doesn’t perfectly align with every requirement, we encourage you to apply anyway. You might be the right candidate for this or other roles at Blue Energy now or in the future. ## About Blue Energy ## Company Overview - **One-liner**: Blue Energy designs and manufactures modular nuclear power plants using mature light water reactor technology, aiming to deliver scalable, reliable, and affordable clean energy. - **Entity Type**: Private (startup stage; funding rounds not disclosed) - **Headquarters**: United States (specific city not publicly disclosed) - **Founded**: Not publicly available - **Founders**: Jake Jurewicz (CEO & Co-founder) ## Core Business - **Primary industry**: Nuclear energy (small modular reactors / advanced nuclear) - **Target customers**: Utilities, data center operators, industrial off-takers (B2B, large-scale) - **Mission statement**: “Delivering abundant, reliable, and affordable energy to accelerate a safe and lasting era of progress.” ## Products & Services - **Blue Energy Modular Nuclear Plant**: A small modular reactor (SMR) design using light water reactors with passive safety features. The plant is prefabricated at shipyards or fab yards, allowing fixed-price contracting and a claimed 3-year timeline to energize the turbine hall with gas (nuclear island follows later). The complete plant is designed for project finance. Blue Energy finances, builds, owns, and operates the plants, selling power through long-term power purchase agreements (PPAs). ## Market Standing - **Valuation/Market Cap**: Not disclosed - **Key Metric**: Total funding not publicly available; targeting $5,000/kW capital cost and a 3-year build time for initial power generation. - **Notable Investors/Partners**: Not publicly listed.
