We started with the largest luggage storage network on the planet: 35,000+ local businesses across 100+ countries, where travelers drop their bags and get on with their day. Now we’re going further, with luggage delivery and our own 24/7 lockers. Our goal is for “bounce it” to be the first thing people say when they arrive in a new city. We’re a small, nimble team across Lisbon, San Francisco, and Tokyo. We move fast, test ideas early, and change course when the data tells us to. If you want to make travel lighter for everyone, come build it with us. We were named the fastest-growing travel company in the US on the 2024 Inc 5000, and we’re backed by leading Silicon Valley investors, including a16z, General Catalyst, and 359 Capital. ## About the role We're looking for a Product Designer to join our design team, working in the Core pod. You'll work across our consumer and partner products (web and mobile), and will own and contribute to the full design process, from early discovery and ideation through to polished, shipping-ready UI. You'll be embedded in a cross-functional pod with product managers and engineers, working alongside Senior Designers you can bounce ideas off. The mission This is an ideal role for someone who's sharp, curious, and ready to grow fast. You'll help shape the experience for both the travellers who book with Bounce and the partners who store their bags, making the marketplace work better for everyone involved. You won't just be executing tasks. You'll be encouraged to ask questions, challenge assumptions, and develop a strong design voice of your own. How product gets built at Bounce We build for our customers and partners first. Technology is how we get there, not the goal. We work in 1-week cycles, and most projects fit into one or two of them. Each project has one owner, but the whole team pitches in. You'll always need input along the way, and we expect you to ask for it. This role is for you if you enjoy every part of building a product, not just making things look good. As a small team, we rely on people who can take a problem from discovery to shipped UI. You won't be handed a queue of tickets. You'll help shape what we build and why. Where you come in - Use Figma and AI tools to communicate and validate design decisions - Contribute to the UX of Bounce's consumer & partner-facing product across web and mobile - Help maintain and extend Bounce's design system, ensuring consistency across surfaces - Plan and run user interviews, usability tests, and research sessions - Understand how users interact with current flows and where pain points exist through quantitative and qualitative data - Contribute to competitive research and stay curious about how leading consumer products solve similar problems - Work closely with product managers to understand problem framing, constraints, and success metrics before jumping into design - Partner with engineers to understand technical constraints and ensure design feasibility - Present your work in design jam sessions, and articulate the reasoning behind your decisions ## Your Profile - You have experience in product design, across a variety of B2B & B2C products - You know your way around Figma - You care about user-centred design: you think about the person using the product before you think about the pixels - You have strong attention to detail. You notice when something is 2px off, and you care - You use AI tools to build faster, and you know when to trust them - You're a clear communicator who can explain and defend and defend design decisions without jargon - You're comfortable receiving feedback and use it to improve your work, quickly - You have a portfolio that shows your UX thinking, not just polished visuals Interview process - Intro call with our Talent team to get to know you and share more about Bounce - Hiring manager interview with an Engineering Manager - Portfolio review where you’ll present a project from your portfolio - Team interview to meet the people you'll work with every day - Career deep dive to explore how your career shaped you - CEO chat about culture and how you like to work ## Benefits and compensation ## Compensation - Competitive salary paid over 12 months. - Stock options vesting over 4 years with a 1-year cliff. - Flexibility to shape your package: prioritise salary or opt for more stock options ## Benefits - Private health insurance - Unlimited vacation - Meal allowance through Coverflex - Commute allowance - Gym membership - Catered lunches twice a week, plus snacks and drinks in the office - Team trips twice a year & regular global get togethers Location and work setup - You'll be based in our [Lisbon office](https://maps.app.goo.gl/v77ACtryEC26f4Zh9). - Flexible hybrid working with ‘work-from-anywhere’ weeks Our core values - Velocity is priority #1. The faster we ship, the faster we learn. One day sooner compounds. - Be experiment-driven. Small hypotheses, small scopes, fast learning. - Freedom with responsibility. You have the freedom to act, and we trust you to do what's best for Bounce. - Own the outcome. Commit to the outcome, not the task. - Think at scale. A small improvement shipped globally can beat a big one in a single city. - Be scrappy. There are no experts, it's just us. If something needs doing, we figure it out. - Strive for feedback. Care personally, challenge directly, and make feedback a habit. - Relationships matter. We genuinely care about the people we work with. We build community, not just collaborate.
