This is a product role first. You'll talk to users, work out what's worth building, and get it far enough — a prototype, a first mockup, a rough working version — that the rest of the team can take it the last mile. You're the one holding the vision for how Pod Network's products should feel. You should be obsessed with good product. You notice when something feels off, you have opinions about how it should work, and you actually want to use the things you build. You're AI-native: you reach for tools like Claude to prototype, mock things up, and make quick changes in the codebase without waiting on anyone. ## Responsibilities - Own Pod Network's product surfaces. You hold the vision for how each one should work and feel, from first idea through launch. - Do the product work: talk to traders, learn how they actually use the product, and decide what's worth building. - Prototype quickly, using AI tools, no-code, or rough builds to turn an idea into something people can react to. - Set the design direction: come up with the first mockups, gather inspiration and references, and give our external design team a strong starting point. Push their work to be sharper, and help take our designs to the next level. - Jump into the codebase to make small changes, try things out, and tweak the experience. You don't need to ship production features, but you should be comfortable getting your hands dirty. - Find the rough edges in how people use Pod and fix or flag them, often before anyone asks. - Work with protocol and backend engineers on what the product needs from the API and SDK. - Set the bar for what a good product feels like here. ## Qualifications Must-haves: - Strong product sense. You can take a vague problem, figure out what users need, and decide what to build. - An eye for design. You can produce the first mockups and a clear direction, and work with designers to push the quality higher, even if you're not the one doing the polished production work. - Comfortable in a codebase. You can prototype, make small changes, and play around, even if you're not shipping production features. Some familiarity with TypeScript and React helps. - You understand trading products and how people use them. - AI-native. You use AI tools to move faster across research, prototyping, design, and code. - A track record of shipping real products that real people use. Nice-to-haves: - Built a trading or financial app, especially one with live data. - Crypto or DeFi experience. - Product management experience. ## What We Offer - The whole product layer of a novel layer-1 to own. - Competitive salary and equity. - A small, senior team that ships fast. - Travel and visibility in the crypto community. ## About Pod Network We are building Pod Network, a Layer-1 for open markets. Orders clear in frequent [batch auctions](https://docs.v2.pod.network/documentation/markets/markets-overview), so the best price wins, not the fastest connection. Anyone can launch a market, its rules enforced by code, and anyone, anywhere can trade on it 24/7. We are backed by a16z crypto, 1kx, BBF, and Lemniscap.  ## About pod network ## Company Overview - **One-liner**: Pod Network is building a purpose-built Layer-1 blockchain designed for MEV-free, high-performance global markets, using batch auctions to eliminate latency advantages. - **Entity Type**: Private (Seed stage) - **Headquarters**: Manhattan Beach, California, United States (with offices in New York, NY and Athens, Greece) - **Founded**: 2024 - **Founders**: Shresth Agrawal (CEO), Haris Karavasilis (Co-Founder) ## Core Business - Primary industry: Layer-1 Blockchain Infrastructure, Decentralized Finance (DeFi) - Target customers: Developers building decentralized market applications (order books, AMMs, perpetual futures), Web3 protocols, and financial applications - Mission purpose: To rebuild financial markets from the ground up on trustless blockchain infrastructure, eliminating the advantages of speed and proximity that create unfair markets ## Products & Services - **Pod Network (L1 Blockchain)**: A novel stake-based programmable Layer-1 with EVM compatibility (EVMx), offering sub-150ms transaction finality and up to 300k TPS. Uses batch auctions instead of continuous order books to eliminate MEV and front-running. - **Built-in Market Primitives**: Asset-agnostic, fully on-chain composable primitives including order book, matching engine, liquidation, and oracles, enabling developers to launch sophisticated markets quickly. - **shitpost.wtf**: A decentralized social network built on Pod’s devnet, launched as a proof-of-concept and testing ground. ## Market Standing - **Valuation/Market Cap**: Not disclosed - **Key Metric**: Total Funding — $10.5M USD - **Notable Investors/Partners**: a16z crypto (led pre-seed and seed), 1kx, Lemniscap, Blockchain Builders Fund (BBF), Stanford Blockchain Accelerator, Protagonist - **Growth Signals**: Raised $10M seed round in January 2025; headcount grew 160% YoY to 8 employees; integrated with Pi Squared’s Universal Settlement Layer and Rollup-Boost; actively hiring for 5 open positions as of mid-2025 ## Competitive Advantages - **MEV Elimination**: Batch-based ordering removes any advantage from being first in line — the best price wins, not the fastest node. This is a fundamental architectural differentiator from Solana, Ethereum, and other L1s. - **Latency-Optimal Design**: Sub-150ms finality with no blocks and strong consensus, making it purpose-built for high-frequency trading use cases. - **EVM Backward Compatibility**: EVMx extension allows developers to use familiar Ethereum tooling (Solidity, wallets, JSON RPC) while gaining Pod’s performance benefits. - **All-in-One Market Infrastructure**: Provides native order book, matching engine, liquidation engine, and oracles — reducing the complexity of launching a new market. ## Strategic Focus - Building the premier Layer-1 for global, trustless financial markets - Expanding developer ecosystem through integrations with Ethereum L2s (Rollup-Boost) and settlement layers (Pi Squared) - Growing the team in engineering (Smart Contract, Backend/HFT) and business development - Scaling from devnet to mainnet with a focus on real-world market applications (perpetual futures already live on devnet) ## Why Work Here - **Engineering Culture**: Deep technical challenges at the intersection of distributed systems, cryptography, and high-frequency trading. Team includes PhDs and engineers from top institutions (Yale, Amazon, Ubisoft, Andreessen Horowitz). - **Remote/Hybrid Policy**: Has offices in Manhattan Beach (CA), New York (NY), and Athens, Greece — suggesting a hybrid/remote-friendly culture with physical hubs. - **Team Size & Ownership**: Very small team (~8 people) means high ownership, direct impact on core protocol design, and close collaboration with founders. - **Backing**: Backed by a16z crypto and top-tier crypto VCs, providing strong runway and credibility. - **Global Team**: Distributed across Greece, US, Poland, and UK — offering a multicultural, remote-first working environment. ## Sources 1.
