We started with the largest luggage storage network on the planet: 35,000+ local businesses across 100+ countries, where travelers drop their bags and get on with their day. Now we’re going further, with luggage delivery and our own 24/7 lockers. Our goal is for “bounce it” to be the first thing people say when they arrive in a new city. We’re a small, nimble team across Lisbon, San Francisco, and Tokyo. We move fast, test ideas early, and change course when the data tells us to. If you want to make travel lighter for everyone, come build it with us. We were named the fastest-growing travel company in the US on the 2024 Inc 5000, and we’re backed by leading Silicon Valley investors, including a16z, General Catalyst, and 359 Capital. ## About the role You'll join the Growth pod as a Product Engineer. Our job is simple: help more travelers discover Bounce and book with confidence. You'll build acquisition channels, growth loops, and product experiences across the whole funnel, side by side with Product and Design. The mission As a Product Engineer in the Growth pod, you'll take real customer problems and turn them into simple, delightful experiences across backend and frontend. Experimentation is a core part of the job: you'll run A/B tests, dig into user behavior, and keep improving our funnels and growth loops. We're looking for a generalist who thrives in ambiguity, loves shipping, and enjoys owning a feature from concept to production. You'll work closely with Product, Design, and teams across Bounce. How product gets built at Bounce We build for our customers and partners first. Technology is how we get there, not the goal. We work in 1-week cycles, and most projects fit into one or two of them. Each project has one owner, but the whole team pitches in. You'll always need input along the way, and we expect you to ask for it. This role is for you if you enjoy every part of building software, not just writing code. As a small team, we rely on people who can take a feature from idea to production. You won't be handed a queue of tickets. You'll help shape what we build and why. Our stack is Elixir, React Native/Expo, React, Next.js, and TypeScript, and AI is part of how we build every day. Where you come in - Own projects that help more travelers discover and book Bounce, from the first search to the moment they drop off their bags. - Design, ship, and analyze experiments across the booking funnel, then act on what you learn. - Build acquisition channels and growth systems that scale across thousands of cities. - Ship features across our mobile and web apps, from backend to frontend. - Bring in new tools and approaches when they help us move faster. ## Your Profile - You've shipped production code and you like owning features end to end. - You're strong in TypeScript or JavaScript. Elixir is a bonus. - You know your way around React or React Native. - You write code that's easy to test and maintain, and you understand CI/CD. - You've designed, shipped, and analyzed experiments, and you're happy to kill an idea when the data says so. - You use data to decide what to build next. Interview process - Intro call with our Talent team to get to know you and share more about Bounce - Hiring manager interview with an Engineering Manager - Technical challenge to deliver in a Panel interview - Product sense interview - Career deep dive to explore how your career shaped you - CEO chat about culture and how you like to work ## Benefits and compensation ## Compensation - Competitive salary paid over 12 months. - Stock options vesting over 4 years with a 1-year cliff. - Flexibility to shape your package: prioritise salary or opt for more stock options ## Benefits - Private health insurance - Unlimited vacation - Meal allowance through Coverflex - Commute allowance - Gym membership - Catered lunches twice a week, plus snacks and drinks in the office - Team trips twice a year & regular global get togethers Location and work setup - You'll be based in our [Lisbon office](https://maps.app.goo.gl/v77ACtryEC26f4Zh9). - Flexible hybrid working with ‘work-from-anywhere’ weeks Our core values - Velocity is priority #1. The faster we ship, the faster we learn. One day sooner compounds. - Be experiment-driven. Small hypotheses, small scopes, fast learning. - Freedom with responsibility. You have the freedom to act, and we trust you to do what's best for Bounce. - Own the outcome. Commit to the outcome, not the task. - Think at scale. A small improvement shipped globally can beat a big one in a single city. - Be scrappy. There are no experts, it's just us. If something needs doing, we figure it out. - Strive for feedback. Care personally, challenge directly, and make feedback a habit. - Relationships matter. We genuinely care about the people we work with. We build community, not just collaborate.
