This is a role for someone who is equally at home sketching concepts in the early stages of a project and navigating the material and manufacturing realities of series production – someone who understands that great product design lives in the tension between vision and constraint, and thrives there. Embedded in the Product Design team, you will contribute to the development of interdisciplinary products from first concept through to series – working across the full design cycle with a deep understanding of technology, materials, and manufacturing processes. You bring both the creative instinct to shape a product’s character and the technical knowledge to make it real. ## Your Core Responsibilities - You contribute to the development of new products from concept to series – working across ideation, design development, prototyping, and industrialisation phases as an embedded member of the Product Design team, in close collaboration with engineering, technology, and other relevant disciplines. - You translate complex technical and functional requirements into well-considered product forms – developing designs that are coherent in their aesthetic language, resolved in their detail, and viable for series production from the outset. - You apply deep knowledge of materials, surfaces, and manufacturing processes throughout the design process – making informed decisions about material selection, finish specifications, joining methods, and production tolerances that serve both design intent and production reality. - You develop and communicate design concepts through sketching, CAD modelling, and physical or digital prototyping – adapting your methods to the needs of each project phase and making your thinking visible and accessible to interdisciplinary collaborators. - You work closely with engineering and technology teams to develop designs that integrate seamlessly with functional, structural, and electronic systems – understanding the interfaces between design and technology as an opportunity rather than a constraint. - Together with the Product Design team, you contribute to maintaining a consistent and recognisable design language across NEURA’s product portfolio – ensuring that individual products feel coherent as part of a broader family. - You accompany products through the transition from development to series production – supporting supplier evaluation, tooling decisions, and quality assessments to ensure that design intent is preserved through industrialisation. - You bring a proactive and curious approach to materials innovation and emerging production technologies – contributing new thinking and relevant references into team discussions throughout the design process. ## What We Can Look Forward To - You hold a degree in Product Design, Industrial Design, or a closely related discipline, and bring solid professional experience developing physical products from concept through series production – ideally in a context that involved complex technology, precision manufacturing, or interdisciplinary development teams. - You have deep knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes – including plastics, metals, composites, and surface treatments – and understand how these choices shape both the design and the production of a product. - You are proficient in CAD modelling (e.g. Alias, SolidWorks, Rhino, or equivalent) and work fluently across both the aesthetic and engineering dimensions of product geometry. - You have a strong sketching practice and can communicate design concepts quickly and clearly across different audiences – from early exploration to structured design reviews with engineering and management stakeholders. - You understand the full product development cycle and have experience navigating the transition from design to series – including DFM considerations, supplier interfaces, and tooling processes. - You are comfortable working in interdisciplinary teams where design, engineering, and technology are deeply intertwined – and you contribute your design perspective with openness and technical credibility. - You have a refined formal sensibility and care about the quality of detail – in the shape of a surface, the resolution of a transition, the specification of a finish – at every stage of the process. - You are self-directed and structured in managing your own work within a larger project, and can handle multiple development streams simultaneously without losing design rigour. - You communicate clearly and confidently in English; German is an advantage. - You approach product development with both creative ambition and technical honesty – knowing when to push a design further and when the constraints of production should shape the outcome. ## About Neura Robotics ## Company Overview - **One-liner**: NEURA Robotics develops cognitive robots that see, hear, feel, and learn, designed to work alongside humans in industrial, service, and household settings. - **Entity Type**: Private (Series C — raised up to $1.4 billion as of 2025/2026) - **Headquarters**: Metzingen, Germany (with offices in Bielefeld and Munich, and US locations in preparation) - **Founded**: 2019 - **Founders**: David Reger ## Core Business - **Primary industry/industries**: Cognitive Robotics, Humanoid Robotics, Industrial Automation, AI - **Target customers**: B2B (industrial clients, integrators, strategic partners);
