We've trained over 50,000 students from more than 1,000 universities. Our partners include Amazon, Google, and other leading technology companies. After nearly a decade of training technical talent, we launched a $150M initiative with Anthropic to prepare people for careers in AI. We're expanding into new markets and growing our team as AI changes the workforce. People joining CodePath now will help shape this next stage of our work. We believe technical skills create opportunities. Our goal is to train millions of learners and create lasting economic impact. If you want to build something new, take ownership, and see the results of your work, this is a place to do it. ## About the Role Location: Remote (US) Role Type: Full-Time Reporting to: Chief Executive Officer Total Compensation: $200,000 - $232,000 CodePath EDU is how universities bring CodePath into their own computer science departments. Faculty at partner universities teach CodePath courses, often for credit, using our curriculum, our platform, and our support. As AI changes what a computer science degree has to deliver, universities need a partner that helps their faculty teach AI-native software engineering. The Product Lead, CodePath EDU owns the products faculty and administrators use to do that. The current vision is a comprehensive offering that helps instructors deliver the most effective computer science courses. Today, our growth comes primarily from student word of mouth. The goal for CodePath EDU is for faculty to drive deeper institutional adoption: solve a faculty need, grow adoption across the department, and create the case for an institution-wide partnership. ## What you'll do - Own the CodePath EDU product end-to-end - Talk with faculty and administrators every week, and turn what you learn into a prioritized roadmap tied to adoption, retention, and growth - Take our LMS integrations with key higher education tools like Canvas and Blackboard to maturity - Use AI across your entire workflow to compress weeks into days: prototypes, requirements, evals for the AI features you ship, and your own analysis of usage data - Partner with Higher Education Partnerships on what each campus needs to adopt, expand, and move to a deeper partnership, and give that team the product evidence they bring to university leaders - Define the metrics that prove the product works at scale, including active instructors, semester-over-semester instructor retention, students reached through partner faculty, and hours saved per instructor - Set a high bar for design quality, because faculty adopt tools that feel simple on the first try ## Who you are You are a builder who has taken a product from 0-to-1 and then made it work at scale, and you have done it in more than one kind of environment. You are deeply AI-Native, and you have shipped AI features yourself. Education experience is welcome and not required. We care most that you have built products busy professionals adopt by choice. Required - You have taken a product from zero to one and scaled it, in more than one kind of environment, such as a large company and a startup - You have shipped AI features to production and have written and shipped code regularly over the past year, with or without AI - You have built software for professional users who adopted it because it saved them time - You have owned more than your title said, and done work nobody asked for - You run without a playbook or much management, and set your own priorities and roadmap - You hold strong opinions, change course on evidence, and can sell a product strategy to engineers, faculty, and university leaders alike ## Preferred - Fluency with the modern product management toolkit: product analytics, Figma, SQL, and AI coding tools like Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor - Founder experience, or early-employee time at a hyperscaling company - Products you built that individual users adopted first and organizations bought later - Learning management systems, LTI integrations, or other edtech infrastructure - Systems that integrate with institutions, such as universities Full-Time Employee Benefits This is a remote position—work from anywhere in the US! CodePath prioritizes employee well-being with a competitive benefits package to support your health, financial security, and work-life balance. - Health & Wellness: Medical, dental, and vision insurance (90% employer-covered for employees and dependents), employer-funded healthcare reimbursement, FSAs, and Employee Assistance Program - Financial Security: 401(k), employer-paid life & disability insurance, and identity theft protection - Work-Life Balance: Generous PTO, paid holidays, 10 weeks of fully paid parental leave, and an annual year-end company closure (Dec 24 – Jan 2) - Professional Growth: $1,000 annual professional development stipend and home office setup support - Student Loan Forgiveness: CodePath is a qualifying employer for Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF), helping employees manage student loan debt - Additional Perks: Pet wellness plans, legal services, home/auto insurance discounts, and exclusive marketplace savings Pay range $200,000—$232,000 USD ## About CodePath ## Company Overview - **One-liner**: CodePath is a nonprofit that trains college students—especially those from underrepresented and low-income backgrounds—to become AI-native software engineers through industry-vetted courses, career support, and direct employer partnerships. - **Entity Type**: Private (501(c)(3) nonprofit) - **Headquarters**: San Francisco, California, USA - **Founded**: 2017 - **Founders**: Michael Ellison, Nathan Esquenazi, Tim Lee ## Core Business - **Primary industry/industries**: Education technology (EdTech), workforce development, artificial intelligence training - **Target customers**: B2C (college CS students), B2B (colleges/universities), and B2B (employers seeking technical talent) - **Mission or purpose statement**: "Reprogramming higher education to create the first AI-native generation of engineers, CTOs, and founders."
