Are you ready to transform the way businesses pay and get paid? Bottomline is a global leader in business payments and cash management, with over 35 years of experience and moving more than $16 trillion in payments annually. We're looking for passionate individuals to join our team and help drive impactful results for our customers. If you're dedicated to delighting customers and promoting growth and innovation - we want you on our team! ## The Role We are looking for a collaborative, hands-on Product Manager to join our Business Payments Network team, supporting the continued evolution of Paymode across fraud prevention, security and compliance. This is a delivery-focused Product Management role for someone who enjoys turning business challenges into clear requirements and working closely with development teams to bring solutions to life. You’ll partner with senior product colleagues who set the broader roadmap and direction, then take ownership of translating those priorities into executable work, managing requirements and supporting delivery through the product development lifecycle. You’ll work across Product, Engineering, Security/CISO and Network Operations, giving you exposure well beyond a traditional development team. The role has strong visibility across the organisation and suits someone comfortable navigating different stakeholders, communicating clearly and adapting their approach to the audience. Fraud, risk or compliance experience would be valuable, but you don't need to be a regulatory expert. We're equally interested in Product Managers who bring strong SaaS or technology product experience, curiosity, and the ability to learn the domain. We're particularly interested in people who can challenge established ways of working and identify opportunities to use data, automation and smarter product experiences to solve problems more effectively. ## How You'll Contribute - Own Product Delivery: Take product priorities and established roadmap initiatives and translate them into actionable work for development teams, helping drive delivery through the full product development lifecycle. - Define Strong Requirements: Create clear, articulate business requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria that communicate the outcome required without unnecessarily prescribing the technical solution. - Partner with Development Teams: Act as a key Product partner to development teams, supporting sprint planning, requirements clarification, status discussions and successful execution of agreed priorities. - Work Across the Business: Build effective partnerships across Product, Engineering, Security/CISO, Network Operations and other stakeholders to ensure solutions balance business, customer, security and compliance needs. - Improve Through Data & Automation: Look for opportunities to use data and automation to improve decision-making, reduce manual processes and create more effective fraud and compliance capabilities. - Think Beyond the Existing Process: Bring curiosity to established ways of working and help teams explore better approaches while operating within necessary security, legal and regulatory guardrails. - Keep the Customer in the Conversation: Consider how product design and user experience can encourage compliant behaviours without unnecessarily creating friction or blockers for customers. - Communicate with Impact: Represent Product confidently with both technical teams and senior stakeholders and provide clear updates on progress, priorities, dependencies and challenges. - Build Domain Knowledge: Develop your understanding of fraud, security, risk and compliance within B2B payments, working with internal specialists when deeper interpretation or expertise is required. - Evaluate Solutions: Support the assessment of internal capabilities and third-party solutions based on business need, effectiveness, scalability and fit within the wider product ecosystem. What Will Make You Successful - Product Management, Product Owner or closely related experience within a SaaS, software or technology environment. - Experience translating business problems and outcomes into clear requirements, user stories and executable development work. - Confidence working directly with software development teams in an Agile environment. - Experience working with tools such as Jira is highly valuable, as the team operates in Jira. - Strong communication skills and the confidence to work with both technical teams and senior business stakeholders. - An adaptable, collaborative approach. You'll be working across different projects, priorities and stakeholder groups rather than operating within a narrow product silo. - A mindset focused on outcomes rather than prescribing technical solutions, allowing engineering teams to determine the best architecture and implementation. - Curiosity about how data and automation can improve products, processes and decision-making. - The confidence to question established processes constructively and explore new ways of solving problems. - Experience in payments, fintech, financial services, fraud, security, risk or compliance would be advantageous, but deep regulatory expertise is not essential. We welcome talent at all career stages and are dedicated to understanding and supporting additional needs. We're proud to be an equal opportunity employer, committed to creating an inclusive and open environment for everyone. ## About Bottomline ## Company Overview - **One-liner**: Bottomline helps businesses and financial institutions transform the way they pay and get paid with secure, connected payment, cash management, and fraud detection solutions. - **Entity Type**: Private (acquired by Thoma Bravo in 2022) - **Headquarters**: Portsmouth, New Hampshire, USA - **Founded**: 1989 - **Founders**: Not publicly available ## Core Business - Primary industry/industries: Business Payments, Financial Technology (FinTech), Cash Management, Payments Fraud & Compliance - Target customers: B2B – Financial institutions (banks, credit unions), mid-market to enterprise businesses (including Fortune 100 companies), and other organizations globally. - Mission or purpose statement: To transform the way businesses pay and get paid, driving impactful results for customers by reimagining business payments and delivering solutions that add to the bottom line. ## Products & Services - **Payments Hub**: A centralized platform to send payments to any bank worldwide, in any currency, ensuring governance and control. - **AP Automation**: Automates accounts payable processes from invoice to payment, enabling fast, revenue-generating Premium ACH and virtual card payments. - **Global Cash Management Hub**: Centralizes cash visibility, liquidity, FX, financing, and risk management for finance teams. - **Payments Fraud Defense**: A SaaS solution that detects and stops payment fraud and evolving threats in real-time. - **Enterprise Case Management**: Provides a single system of record for a holistic view of business risk to respond to threats faster. - **Digital Banking Platform**: A combined platform for payments, cash management, treasury management, and B2B payments network for financial institutions. - **Paymode Network**: A market-leading B2B payments network trusted by over 600,000 verified businesses for secure digital payments. - **Payments Processing**: Securely processes, reconciles, and manages data in financial transactions within and between banks. - **Sanctions Screening**: Real-time financial message sanctions screening for global compliance. - **Message Transformation & Enrichment**: An intelligent data transformation and workflow engine for meeting message standard compliance obligations. - **Payouts Automation**: Secure management of funds disbursements to suppliers, customers, and partners. - **Receivables Automation**: Streamlines the process of receiving funds into a business, supporting multiple payment methods. ## Market Standing - **Valuation/Market Cap**: Not publicly disclosed (privately held by Thoma Bravo).
