We build AI for engineers designing cars, medical devices, and jet engines. Products this complex aren't sketched and sent to production. Teams spend months on iterations, reviews, and tests, predicting how every part performs before anything is built. CoLab is where those reviews happen, and we capture the rationale behind every change. Other tools show what changed between versions. Only CoLab knows why. That's how our AI helps manufacturers like Bobcat, Triumph Motorcycles, and GE Appliances make better decisions, eliminate rework cycles, and get to market faster. Proudly based in St. John’s, Newfoundland, CoLab started with one customer in 2018. Since then we’ve raised a[$72M Series C](https://financialpost.com/pmn/business-wire-news-releases-pmn/ai-is-changing-engineering-colab-just-raised-72m-to-lead-the-transformation), been named the 57th fastest growing company in North America by Deloitte ([Fast 500™](https://financialpost.com/pmn/business-wire-news-releases-pmn/colab-ranked-number-57-fastest-growing-company-in-north-america-on-the-2025-deloitte-technology-fast-500)), signed multi-year[AI partnerships with companies like Bombardier](https://www.theglobeandmail.com/business/article-bombardier-signs-contract-colab-ai-software/), and grown to a team of 250+. ## About the Role Mechanical engineering teams rely on a complex ecosystem of CAD, PLM, and enterprise systems to design, review, and manufacture products. At CoLab, we're building software that fits naturally into those workflows. As a Product Manager for our Build Forge team, you'll own the product direction for how CoLab connects with the systems engineers use every day. Your goal is to make complex engineering workflows simpler, helping customers move seamlessly between CoLab and their existing tools. This role requires more than traditional SaaS product management experience. We need someone who understands how engineering data moves through an organization, from CAD models and revisions to BOMs, change management, and PLM systems. You'll work closely with customers, Engineering, Design, and Customer Success to identify opportunities, set priorities, and deliver solutions that create measurable value. One week you might be defining how CoLab integrates with Siemens Teamcenter, the next, you could be mapping a customer's engineering change workflow to identify where disconnected systems create unnecessary work. Our Ideal Candidate - You've spent meaningful time in the CAD, PLM, or engineering software ecosystem. You understand the complexity of enterprise engineering environments and can connect technical details to real customer problems. - You're equally comfortable discussing revision management with an engineering team and making product tradeoffs with developers. - You bring curiosity, sound judgment, and a willingness to challenge assumptions respectfully. You don't need every answer upfront, but you know how to find the right people, ask better questions, and make progress. - If your product experience is primarily in general-purpose SaaS and you're unfamiliar with mechanical engineering workflows, this likely isn't the right fit. Job Responsibilities - Own the product roadmap for Build Forge, prioritizing CAD, PLM, and enterprise integrations. - Develop a deep understanding of customer workflows, including revision management, BOMs, engineering changes, and design collaboration. - Translate complex customer needs into clear product requirements and measurable outcomes. - Partner with Engineering and Design to deliver intuitive, reliable integrations and platform capabilities. - Balance customer-specific integration needs with scalable solutions that benefit the broader customer base. - Use customer feedback, adoption data, and business priorities to inform product decisions. - Collaborate with Customer Success and other stakeholders to support adoption and continuously improve the product. ## Qualifications - 5+ years of product management experience, ideally in technical B2B software. - Strong domain knowledge of CAD, PLM, or Mechanical Engineering Lifecycle workflows. - Experience with platforms such as PTC Windchill, Siemens Teamcenter, Dassault 3DEXPERIENCE/ENOVIA, or Autodesk Vault. - Understanding of engineering data, BOMs, revision control, and engineering change management. - Experience translating technical customer problems into product priorities. - Bonus: Experience with CAD plugins, PLM integrations, ERP connectivity, or engineering workflow automation. Extra Details - Compensation: Full-time, permanent position with an attractive compensation package, including stock options. - Benefits: Extended health benefits, unlimited paid vacation, and RRSP/401K matching. - Remote/Hybrid: Flexibility to work remotely from anywhere in Canada or the US. Equity Note Frequently cited statistics show that people who identify with historically marginalized groups are likely to apply to jobs only if they meet 100% of the qualifications. We encourage you to help us break that statistic and apply even if you don’t meet every single qualification—your potential is what matters most to us. ## About CoLab Software ## Core Business - **Primary industry**: Engineering design collaboration software (CAD/PLM) - **Target customers**: B2B, enterprise – mechanical engineering teams at hardware manufacturers (e.g., automotive, industrial equipment, medical devices) - **Mission statement**: “To help engineering teams deliver life-changing products to the world years sooner.” ## Products & Services - **[CoLab Platform (Design Engagement System)]**: A cloud-based workspace for virtual design reviews, where engineers can annotate 2D/3D models in real time, track feedback, and automatically capture knowledge. - **[AutoReview (AI Peer Checker)]**: An AI agent that marks up drawings and 3D models against company design standards, lessons learned, and industry best practices before human review. - **[AI Lessons Learned Agent]**: An AI that surfaces relevant past design decisions and similar designs during reviews, automating the traditional lessons-learned process. - **Integrations**: Connects with major PLM systems (Windchill, Teamcenter, 3DXPERIENCE) and accepts 30+ CAD file types for browser-based review. ## Market Standing - **Valuation/Market Cap**: Not publicly disclosed - **Key Metrics**: Annual Revenue ~$22.5M (2025); Total Funding $115.6M (as of Series C, Nov 2025) - **Notable Investors/Partners**: Insight Partners (lead Series B), Intrepid Growth Partners (lead Series C), Y Combinator (Pre-Seed).
