Millions of companies, from the world’s largest enterprises to ambitious startups, use Stripe to accept payments, manage their businesses, and grow their revenue. Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a significant amount of work ahead. You’ll have an opportunity to help put the global economy within everyone’s reach. ## About the team The Foreign Exchange team builds the products and infrastructure that help Stripe users operate across currencies. Businesses increasingly operate globally from the moment they launch, collecting revenue, holding balances, paying suppliers, and managing expenses across multiple currencies. Managing those currencies remains fragmented. Finance teams must decide what to hold, when to convert, how to manage currency exposure, and how to reconcile the results. Today, these workflows often span banks, spreadsheets, treasury systems, and specialist FX providers. Stripe is uniquely positioned to simplify this. We sit at the center of the payments, Billing, balances, payouts, and settlement flows that create a business’s currency needs. Our vision is to make Stripe the financial home for businesses operating internationally, with a unified offering for holding, converting, and managing currencies and FX risk. A core part of this vision is making currency management agentic. We believe software agents will increasingly help businesses understand their FX position, recommend actions, and manage currencies within defined policies and controls. This could include Stripe-native agents that monitor exposure and take approved actions. It could also mean enabling customers’ own agents to use Stripe’s infrastructure to understand balances and exposures, obtain pricing, execute conversions or hedges, and reconcile the results. Our goal is to make Stripe the currency-management layer that both people and agents can build on. We will build these capabilities both for globally operating businesses and for the platforms and marketplaces that use Connect. ## What you’ll do We’re looking for a Product Manager to build a new area of Stripe’s FX and currency-management offering. This is a zero-to-one product role at the intersection of FX, treasury, and agentic AI. You will help define what agentic currency management should look like. That could mean Stripe-native agents that understand exposure, recommend actions, and execute within customer-defined policies. It could also mean enabling customers’ own agents to use Stripe’s FX infrastructure to understand balances, obtain pricing, manage risk, execute transactions, and reconcile the results. You will work directly with globally operating businesses to understand their most important currency-management problems. You will identify the right initial product wedge and take it from discovery through launch and iteration. Today, treasury teams assemble exposures from multiple systems, determine hedge requirements, monitor changing positions, request pricing, execute trades, and reconcile the results. We believe much of this workflow can become continuous, intelligent, and increasingly automated. You might build products that combine Stripe’s real-time view of payments, balances, and settlement activity with customer forecasts and policies to identify exposures and recommend actions. You might also define the APIs, permissions, controls, and financial primitives that allow customer or third-party agents to safely take those actions through Stripe. Over time, these systems could move from surfacing insights to requesting quotes, executing conversions or hedges, rebalancing positions, and escalating exceptions within clearly defined permissions. You will determine which intelligence Stripe should provide directly, which capabilities we should expose for others to build on, where humans should remain in the decision loop, and how we evaluate whether agents are making good decisions. Your product area could also include automated conversion and balance policies, recurring currency-management workflows, or capabilities distributed through Connect. The opportunity is broad. Your job will be to make it focused. You will determine where Stripe can create differentiated value, build the first product, measure whether it works, and use those learnings to shape the roadmap. You will work closely with Engineering and Design on product experiences, APIs, data models, agent behavior, controls, and system reliability. You will also partner with Treasury, Risk, Legal, Finance, Sales, and Product Marketing to ensure the products are economically sound, operationally scalable, and ready for customers. ## Responsibilities - Deeply understand how global businesses and platforms manage currencies, including holding, converting, forecasting, hedging, and reconciliation. - Own the strategy, roadmap, and success metrics for a focused area of Stripe’s FX and currency-management offering. - Identify high-value customer problems and take new products from discovery through launch, adoption, and iteration. - Define Stripe’s approach to agentic currency management, including Stripe-native experiences, agent-ready APIs, permissions, controls, and evaluation. - Partner closely with Engineering and Design to build simple, reliable products across user experiences, APIs, data models, and financial infrastructure. - Work across Treasury, Risk, Legal, Finance, Sales, and Product Marketing to ensure products are economically sound, operationally scalable, and successful with customers. - Use customer insights and product results to shape Stripe’s broader FX and currency-management strategy. ## Who you are We’re looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. Preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement. ## Minimum requirements - 5+ years of product management experience, including taking technically complex products from problem definition through launch and iteration. - Demonstrated ability to turn ambiguous customer problems into clear product strategies and focused roadmaps. - Experience building financial infrastructure, enterprise software, APIs, regulated products, AI-native products, or similarly complex systems. - Strong technical judgment and experience partnering with engineers on APIs, data flows, reliability, and system behavior. - Strong customer instincts and experience translating complex financial or operational workflows into simple, scalable products. - Strong analytical judgment and ability to make decisions with incomplete information. - Strong written and verbal communication, including the ability to explain product decisions, risks, and tradeoffs across technical and nontechnical teams. ## Preferred qualifications - Experience with foreign exchange, multi-currency products, treasury, cross-border money movement, hedging, or financial risk management. - Experience building AI-native or agentic products, especially systems that can recommend or take actions within defined controls. - Experience building products for finance or treasury teams at globally operating businesses. - Experience with API-first, configurable, or automated financial products. - Familiarity with the economics, accounting, liquidity, regulatory, or operational considerations involved in FX products. ## About Stripe ## Core Business - Primary industry: Financial services / payments infrastructure - Target customers: B2B – from startups to global enterprises (e.g., Le Monde, trucking companies) - Mission: “Increase the GDP of the internet” by making online commerce easier and more accessible ## Products & Services - **Stripe Payments**: Accept and optimise payments globally – online and in person; supports 135+ currencies and payment methods [stripe.com](https://stripe.com/) - **Stripe Billing**: Manage subscriptions, invoices, and recurring revenue; over 200 million active subscriptions managed [stripe.com](https://stripe.com/) - **Stripe Connect**: Embed payments into platforms and marketplaces - **Stripe Atlas**: Incorporate a company, get everything needed to fundraise and start selling - **Stripe Terminal**: In-person payments with customisable card readers - **Stripe Issuing**: Create and manage a card issuing programme - **Stripe Climate**: Automatically contribute a fraction of revenue to carbon removal ## Market Standing - **Valuation/Market Cap**: Not publicly available (private company) - **Key Metric**: $1.9 trillion in payments volume processed in 2025 [stripe.com](https://stripe.com/) - **Notable Investors/Partners**: Not disclosed in provided sources - **Growth Signals**: - Infrastructure underpins more than 1% of global GDP [stripe.com](https://stripe.com/jobs/life-at-stripe) - Over 8,000 employees across 25+ offices worldwide [stripe.com](https://stripe.com/jobs) - 99.999% historical uptime for Stripe services [stripe.com](https://stripe.com/) - Deploys 10,000+ times per day while maintaining five 9s of reliability [stripe.com](https://stripe.com/jobs/life-at-stripe) - 135+ currencies and payment methods supported [stripe.com](https://stripe.com/) ## Competitive Advantages - **Scale & Reliability**: Processes massive transaction volumes with 99.999% uptime – a level of trust few competitors match. - **Developer‑First Experience**: Obsessive focus on API design, documentation, and ease of integration; “start with a blank screen, work until a product is ready, polish until exceptional” [stripe.com](https://stripe.com/jobs/life-at-stripe). - **Global Reach**: Supports 135+ currencies and payment methods, with local offices in 25+ cities to serve regional needs. - **Network Effects**: The more businesses use Stripe, the more data and infrastructure advantages accrue, making it harder to switch. ## Strategic Focus - **AI & Agentic Commerce**: Building economic infrastructure for AI, including monetisation through agentic commerce [stripe.com](https://stripe.com/). - **Crypto & Stablecoins**: Enabling borderless money movement with stablecoins and crypto [stripe.com](https://stripe.com/). - **Platform Expansion**: Continuing to add financial tools (billing, issuing, terminal, climate) that work individually or together. - **Globalisation**: Deepening presence in markets like Japan, India, and Latin America. ## Why Work Here - **Culture**: “Intense and kind” – high expectations paired with a supportive, transparent environment.
