At our core is Machine Intelligence (MujinMI), a unique approach that leverages real-time digital twins and advanced perception, planning, and control algorithms to achieve fully autonomous operations. Our flagship product, MujinController, empowers users with a highly configurable, no-code interface. By integrating cutting-edge motion planning and computer vision, it enables seamless automation for complex applications such as palletizing, picking, and truck unloading. Headquartered in Japan with a growing presence in the US, China, and Europe, we invite you to join a dynamic environment where you can shape the future of automation. The Product Manager is responsible for driving new product development direction and managing the complete product lifecycle. This role combines technical project management with strategic supplier relations. You will be tasked with translating internal business needs into actionable supplier specifications, proactively mitigating component obsolescence risks, and overseeing product compliance and quality assurance. By collaborating closely with engineering, sales, and operations, you will ensure our products meet the highest standards of performance, delivery, and regulatory compliance. ## Key Responsibilities 1. New Product Research & Development Direction - Identify and evaluate potential ODM/OEM partners to meet defined requirements. - Gather and clarify product requirements from internal stakeholders (e.g., engineering, sales, operations). - Translate business and technical requirements into product specifications for supplier evaluation. - Source and propose suitable products or solutions based on cost, performance, and compliance needs. - Collaborate with internal teams to refine product requirements and development direction. 1. Product Lifecycle & Risk Management - Monitor component lifecycle status and identify obsolescence risks. - Evaluate impact of EOL/PCN notices on product BOMs. - Lead mitigation actions (e.g., last-time buy, second-source qualification, design updates). - Manage and release PCNs, including documentation, impact assessment, and stakeholder communication. 1. Project Management & Strategic Planning - Identify long lead-time components and coordinate planning to mitigate supply risks. - Review project deliverables to ensure alignment with requirements, specifications, and timelines. 1. External Laboratory & Certification Coordination - Coordinate with testing laboratories or certification bodies on test requirements and schedules. - Ensure testing activities align with project timelines and compliance needs. 1. Supplier Management & Quality Assurance - Assess and review supplier performance annually based on quality, delivery, and compliance. - Review supplier non-conformance reports, verify root cause analysis and corrective actions. - Coordinate with internal stakeholders and approve closure of corrective actions. 1. Internal Operations - Coordinate with internal teams and external parties on non-conforming units, including investigation, resolution, and follow-up actions. ## Qualifications Required Professional Experience: - 3–6 years in Hardware Product Management, Product Engineering, or Strategic Sourcing. - Proven track record working with OEM/ODM suppliers and cross-functional engineering teams. - Hands-on experience in component lifecycle management and BOM analysis. Technical & Functional Skills: - Ability to translate complex business needs into technical hardware requirements. - Strong understanding of hardware manufacturing processes and quality control. - Familiarity with international hardware compliance and certification frameworks. - Professional proficiency in English (and Japanese is a significant plus for Tokyo-based coordination). Preferred (Nice-to-Have): - Experience in the robotics, industrial automation, or high-tech hardware sectors. - Experience with cost-modeling and supplier contract negotiation. - Knowledge of regulatory compliance (CE, FCC) Location 3-8-5 Tatsumi, Koto-Ku, Tokyo 135-0053, Japan Work Hours 8:45 - 17:45 (with a 60-minute break) Salary Based on experience and skills Salary revision twice a year Additional bonuses are available based on performance Holidays Every Saturday and Sunday Annual paid leaves Maternity leave and Childcare leave Flex Holiday (take public holidays on days of your choice) Other holidays as defined by the company Company Benefits Explore Mujin Perks & Welfare Benefits Flexible dress code policy Commuting allowance Japanese Social Security (Health Insurance, Pension, Labor Insurance) Monthly team dinner support Free buffet lunch every workday Free vending machines (offering drinks and snacks) High-end coffee machine Exclusive Employee Gym Access Japan Relocation Support Visa sponsorship Flight ticket support Shipping expenses coverage up to a specified limit Assistance for housing ## About Mujin ## Company Overview - **One-liner**: Mujin develops intelligent robotics automation platforms that use a "teachless" no-code approach to make robots capable, easy to deploy, and simple to operate in logistics, manufacturing, and beyond. - **Entity Type**: Private (Series C) - **Headquarters**: Tokyo, Japan - **Founded**: 2011 - **Founders**: Ross Diankov (CEO), Issei Takino ## Core Business - Primary industry: Industrial robotics and automation - Target customers: Warehouses, distribution centers, manufacturers (primarily Enterprise and B2B); also serves robotics integrators - Mission statement: To solve the shortage of manual labor by deploying intelligent robotics automation that raises productivity around the world ## Products & Services - **MujinOS**: A no-code, teachless platform for robot control and deployment.
