And wait. Sometimes days, weeks, or even months. Why? Because too often providers are overwhelmed with the painstakingly tedious work required to get paid by insurance companies. Powered by proprietary models, Tennr handles the complex paperwork that gets patients through the door and providers paid, helping operators get patients the right care, at the right time, in the right setting. ## Role Description As we scale our product surface area, we’re looking for Product Managers who are excited to own a variety of high-impact products, and drive outsized outcomes in hard-to-solve and ambiguous problem spaces. This is a role designed for builders who thrive in ambiguity, love solving complex user and workflow problems, and take full ownership of outcomes - from defining the problem space to shipping, scaling, and driving real customer and business impact. As a Product Manager, you will be accountable for setting the vision, strategy, and end-to-end execution of one or more core product areas. This is not a “manage the roadmap” role—it’s a “make it successful” role. You’ll develop a deep understanding of users, their day-to-day workflows, and the broader ecosystem they operate in. You’ll identify the highest-leverage problems to solve and turn messy, real-world complexity into simple, scalable experiences. You will hold the standard on quality, and not rest until your product is creating the level of impact in the field that you expect. You’ll work closely with design, engineering, customer-facing teams, and other product managers. You will lead product discovery, define clear requirements, make thoughtful tradeoffs, and push products from 0→1 and from 1→scale with urgency and clarity. This is a highly cross-functional and user-centered role—ideal for someone who loves building foundational experiences that make complex work feel effortless. ## Responsibilities - Own the success of one or more core product areas, focusing on outcomes and real-world impact - not just outputs, timelines, or feature delivery. - Define and drive product vision and strategy by synthesizing user needs, workflow complexity, and business priorities into a clear, scalable roadmap. - Lead product discovery through user interviews, workflow mapping, usability testing, shadowing, and qualitative/quantitative research. - Translate ambiguous, messy problems into clear product requirements, user stories, and intuitive experiences. - Build, launch, and iterate on new capabilities from 0→1 and from 1→scale, ensuring fast learning cycles and high-quality execution. - Partner cross-functionally with design and engineering to translate product vision into intuitive user experiences that are technically feasible and built to scale. - Collaborate with Customer Success, Sales, Operations, and Marketing to ensure strong product adoption, clarity of value, and real customer impact. - Set a high bar for execution, usability, and coherence across the platform. Candidate Qualifications - A minimum of 4 years of product management experience, preferably in B2B SaaS, workflow-heavy products, or operationally complex environments. - Proven ability to take ambiguous product ideas from concept to launch and from prototype to real-world usage, with thoughtful prioritization of the highest-impact problems. - Strong user instincts: You care deeply about how products feel, flow, and fit into people’s daily work and can uncover user needs through strong product discovery practices. - Technical fluency: Able to break down how complex systems work under the hood, distill technical needs and constraints, and partner with engineering to make smart tradeoffs. - Excellent communication skills: able to clearly articulate product decisions, tradeoffs, and priorities to diverse audiences. - Collaborative leader: demonstrated ability to lead across design, engineering, CX, and go-to-market teams to drive clarity, alignment, and momentum. - Bias to action: energized by moving fast, testing ideas, learning from feedback, and iterating. - Ownership mindset: accountable for outcomes, comfortable operating in low-structure environments, and eager to lead end-to-end. Why Tennr? - Drive Impact: one of our company values is Cowboy, meaning you set the pace. You won’t just talk about things, you’ll get them done. And feel the impact. - Develop Operational Expertise: learn the inner workings of scaling systems, tools, and infrastructure - Innovate with Purpose: we’re not just doing this for fun (although we do have a lot of fun). At Tennr, you’ll join a high-caliber team maniacally focused on reducing patient delays across the U.S. healthcare system. - Build Relationships: collaborate and connect with like-minded, driven individuals in our Hudson Square office 4 days/week - Free lunch! Plus a pantry full of snacks. ## Benefits - Beautiful new office at 345 Hudson Street - Unlimited PTO - 100% paid employee health benefit options - Employer funded 401(k) match - Competitive parental leave ## About Tennr ## Company Overview - **One-liner**: Tennr is an agentic patient orchestration platform that automates complex healthcare workflows—from document intake and prior authorization to patient routing—to eliminate care delays and reduce denials. - **Entity Type**: Private (Series C) - **Headquarters**: New York, New York, United States - **Founded**: 2021 - **Founders**: Not publicly available ## Core Business - **Primary industry**: Healthcare IT / Healthcare Operations - **Target customers**: B2B – healthcare providers (hospitals, health systems, independent practices, specialty clinics) - **Mission / purpose**: “Eliminate patient care delays across the U.S. healthcare system” – [tennr.com](https://www.tennr.com/) ## Products & Services - **Document Wrangling**: Automates classification, routing, and extraction of unstructured documents (referrals, clinical notes, insurance forms, letters of medical necessity) from fax, portal, or internal orders. – [tennr.com](https://www.tennr.com/) - **Intelligent Insurance Decisioning**: Checks eligibility, investigates benefits, submits and tracks prior authorizations against payer criteria. – [tennr.com](https://www.tennr.com/) - **Patient Flow Orchestration**: Real-time control tower showing stuck patients, prioritizes work, and automatically updates charts and orders to keep patients moving through care journeys. – [tennr.com](https://www.tennr.com/) - **Care Coordination & Closing the Loop**: Automatically requests missing documentation from the right party and tracks it through completion. – [tennr.com](https://www.tennr.com/) ## Market Standing - **Valuation**: Not disclosed - **Total Funding**: $159.75 M (per [cbinsights.com](https://www.cbinsights.com/company/tennr)) / $161.3 M (per [linkedin.com](https://www.linkedin.com/company/tennrai)) – conflicting reports - **Latest Round**: Series C ($101 M raised ~1 year ago) – [cbinsights.com](https://www.cbinsights.com/company/tennr) - **Notable Investors**: Foundation Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, Lightspeed, Frank Slootman, Institutional Venture Partners, and 10 others – [cbinsights.com](https://www.cbinsights.com/company/tennr) - **Growth Signals**: - Headcount grew 148.7% YoY to 239 employees (monthly growth +4.6%) – [linkedin.com](https://www.linkedin.com/company/tennrai) - Processed over 10 M patients in 2025 – [tennr.com/careers](https://www.tennr.com/careers) - Named to Cloud 100 Rising Stars 2024, CB Insights Digital Health 50 2024, and Top 40 Private Companies 2024 – [tennr.com/careers](https://www.tennr.com/careers) ## Competitive Advantages - **Proprietary vision-language models** trained on the largest dataset of service-to-payer criteria mappings, enabling policy-grade decisioning at scale. - **End-to-end automation** that handles the entire patient journey from intake through authorization and scheduling, reducing manual touch points and first-pass denials. - **Real-time visibility** into operational bottlenecks across referrals, consults, diagnostics, and authorizations. ## Strategic Focus - **Patient flow optimization**: Intelligently route patients to the right care setting while eliminating delays. - **Denial prevention**: Automate payer criteria checks to slash first-pass denials. - **Care coordination**: Close loops on missing documentation and automate follow-ups with patients, providers, and payers. - **Scale**: Expand platform to handle millions of care pathways per month across national networks and independent providers. ## Why Work Here - **Culture**: “Problem Obsessed,” “Confrontation” (face hard truths directly), “Courage,” “Conviction,” “Clarity,” and “Cowboy” (set the pace, do instead of talk) – [tennr.com/careers](https://www.tennr.com/careers) - **Work model**: In-person culture (HQ in New York, NY) - **Benefits**: Meaningful equity, competitive salary, 401k matching, unlimited PTO, free lunch (and a pantry with “a strangely wide array of puffed corn snacks”) – [tennr.com/careers](https://www.tennr.com/careers) - **Engineering culture**: Fast-paced, data-driven, with proprietary AI/ML models; open roles include Backend Software Engineer, Staff Product Engineer, Staff Backend Software Engineer, and Product Manager – [jobs.ashbyhq.com](https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/tennr) - **Recognition**: Listed as one of the “50 Most Promising Startups 2024” and other industry accolades – [tennr.com/careers](https://www.tennr.com/careers) ## Sources 1.
