This person will own Meter’s entire wireless line including our wireless operating system end-to-end, encompassing hardware, firmware, software, and cloud management. Those familiar with wireless know that the fixes that matter most rarely stay inside wireless, though; they often mean coordinated changes across the entire stack–access points, switching, routing, and cellular too. Meter is vertically integrated and owns the entire stack— ISP, firewall, routing, SD-WAN, security, wireless, switching, mobile, and power—built so a small engineering team can ship complex features fast to our customers. You’ll build the observability platform that makes wireless proactive instead of reactive. Alongside it, you’ll ship the features that make the experience feel effortless—automatic channel and power optimization, seamless roaming, client steering, interference mitigation—and define Meter’s next revenue bets in Radio Resource Management, localization, and IoT. This is one of Meter’s first dedicated PM hires, reporting to our CTO and cofounder Sunil Varanasi and partnering closely with the Wireless engineering team. ## WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE - In the first 30 days, you will: - Sit with the Wireless team, join support calls, and read the Slack threads where wireless issues get triaged and lost. - Map the full lifecycle of a wireless problem—detection, routing, resolution, and where it falls through the cracks. - Talk to sales engineers about what customers are asking for. - You have a clear point of view on where observability needs to start. - By 60 days: The Wireless team has a clear, prioritized roadmap. You and Sales Engineering have a strong feedback loop. Observability v1 has a defined scope: what you’re building, what you’re not, and what success looks like - By 90 days: Observability v1 is in active development, with a measurable drop in triage time or ticket volume. A phased Radio Resource Management plan is defined. GTM has documentation they trust enough to advertise from. ## WHAT YOUR DAY-TO-DAY LOOKS LIKE - Mornings with the Technical Support Engineering team reviewing support tickets for patterns worth building into observability - Afternoons with the Wireless team prioritizing the next sprint, evenings with a sales engineer scoping what a hospitality customer needs from localization to close a deal. You’re the bridge between customer experience, support, sales, and engineering—writing specs engineering trusts, documentation sales can use, and roadmap narratives that give the company clarity on where wireless is going. ## WHO YOU ARE - You know wireless: how IPSK works, how Radio Resource Management shapes deployment outcomes, how access points behave under load, how Wi-Fi standards evolve, and what IT teams need at 2 a.m. when troubleshooting. - What matters most is how you work with people. You earn trust across engineering, support, sales, marketing, and operations, and you turn disparate signals—Slack threads, tickets, SE requests, hardware constraints—into a plan everyone believes in. - You’ve navigated ambiguity before. There’s minimal PM structure at Meter and no onboarding playbook, and you’re excited to build it. ## WHY METER The internet runs the world. Every purchase you make, video call you join — it's all packets flowing through networks. But those networks haven't changed for decades. They're brittle, complex, and surprisingly hard to set up in an enterprise space. We started Meter to build better networks. We had to build everything from the ground up: designing and building our own enterprise hardware, intuitive software, and streamlined operations to deliver great outcomes for our customers. Today, we build and deploy these networks at scale. Ambitious companies and enduring institutions like Bridgewater, Lyft, and Reddit rely on Meter to keep their thousands of employees and locations online and productive. Our bet is simple: We will all use the internet more than we do today. We have the definitive networking stack to enable businesses to do so as seamlessly and reliably as any modern utility. ## COMPENSATION - The estimated base salary for this role is between $205,000 – $275,000. - Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in Meter's equity plan. -- By applying to this job you acknowledge that you've read and understood Meter's Job Applicant Privacy Notice https://www.meter.com/careers/job-applicant-privacy. ## About Meter ## Company Overview - **One-liner**: Meter builds full-stack enterprise networking infrastructure—hardware, software, and operations—to deliver fast, reliable, and secure internet for businesses of all sizes. - **Entity Type**: Private (Series C, $170M led by General Catalyst in July 2025) - **Headquarters**: San Francisco, California, United States - **Founded**: 2015 - **Founders**: Not publicly available from provided sources ## Core Business - **Primary Industry**: Enterprise networking infrastructure - **Target Customers**: B2B – mid-market to large enterprises, including offices, warehouses, campuses, and data centers - **Mission**: To rebuild internet infrastructure from the ground up, making it as easy to turn on as water and electricity. ## Products & Services - **Full-Stack Networks**: A vertically integrated solution combining hardware, firmware, software, deployment, and support. - **Hardware**: Gateway firewalls (F-Series up to 50 Gbps), S-Series switches (PoE++), A-Series Wi‑Fi 7 access points, P-Series PDUs. - **Software Dashboard (Command)**: Network visibility, DNS security, VLAN management, rate limiting, captive portal, floor plan integrations. - **Operations**: Design, installation, support, and lifecycle management provided by Meter or channel partners. ## Market Standing - **Valuation**: Not disclosed (implied unicorn status after $170M Series C) - **Key Metric**: Annual Revenue of **$38.4M** (estimated); Total Funding **$255M** - **Notable Investors/Partners**: Sequoia Capital, General Catalyst, Sam Altman (multiple rounds), Lachy Groom; 16 investors in Series B (2022) - **Growth Signals**: - Headcount grew **+96.6% YoY** (from ~62 to 174 employees) - Recognized as a **Visionary in the 2026 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Enterprise Wired and Wireless LAN Infrastructure** - Acquired **Interval** (November 2023) to strengthen autonomous networking capabilities - Operating in **8 countries** (US, Philippines, UK, Canada, Slovakia, Norway, France, India) ## Competitive Advantages - **Vertically Integrated**: Designs and manufactures its own hardware, writes the firmware and software, and runs network deployment and support – a rare full-stack approach that ensures consistency and performance. - **Software‑Led Lifecycle**: From install to refresh, all management flows through a single dashboard, reducing complexity for IT teams. - **Scale‑Ready**: Proven to handle thousands of locations and millions of devices; multi-site management is a core capability. ## Strategic Focus - Continue scaling the full-stack platform to support global enterprise deployments - Expand autonomously managed networks (leveraging Interval acquisition) - Grow channel and partner ecosystem (multiple open partner account manager roles) - Deepen presence in data center and large campus networking segments ## Why Work Here - **Culture**: Emphasizes “kind and ambitious” people who thrive in a fast‑paced, changing environment.
