We’re facing innovative challenges that mirror the ground-breaking industry and product at the heart of our company. As we’ve expanded into more than 184 countries and our company has grown tremendously, we find ourselves facing new and interesting legal issues every day. Legal Affairs sits at the heart of this mission, ensuring that Spotify meets its obligations under an evolving global regulatory landscape while championing user safety, transparency, and trust. Spotify’s Product & Regulatory team within Legal Affairs leads the company’s global approach to digital-platform regulation. We drive the operational backbone of Spotify's approach to digital-platform regulation—managing the workflows, documentation, and cross-functional coordination needed to comply with laws like the EU Digital Markets Act (DMA), EU Digital Services Act (DSA), the UK Online Safety Act (UK OSA), the Australian Online Safety Act (AUS OSA), and similar frameworks worldwide. Working closely with Legal stakeholders, Trust & Safety, Public Policy, Product, Design, and Engineering, we turn regulatory requirements into well-managed processes and keep them on track. We’re looking for a resourceful operator who can own the day-to-day machinery of our product and regulatory compliance work—document management, regulatory monitoring, terms updates, and cross-functional special projects. If you’re a self-starter who thrives on bringing order to complexity and keeping programs moving, we’d love to hear from you. ## What You’ll Do - Own and improve document management for the product and regulatory team—organizing compliance records, maintaining regulatory filing systems, and ensuring the team can find what it needs fast. - Build and maintain regulatory monitoring practices—tracking legislative developments, managing regulatory calendars, and surfacing changes that matter to the team. - Manage terms-of-service and policy update processes end-to-end—coordinating drafts, cross-functional reviews, approvals, and publication timelines. - Project-manage special projects and cross-functional initiatives for the Product & Regulatory Legal team, driving workstreams from kick-off to close with clear milestones and owners. - Support responses to regulatory requests for information (RFIs) and audits—pulling together materials, coordinating inputs across teams, and ensuring timely, accurate submissions. - Develop and maintain internal playbooks, process documentation, and communications that keep compliance workflows running without bottlenecks. - Coordinate with Product, Trust & Safety, and Engineering to keep operational controls and reporting processes on track across active regulatory programs. - Identify operational gaps and drive continuous improvement in how the team manages its regulatory workload. ## Who You Are - You have 5+ years’ experience in operations, program management, or legal operations in a tech, digital-platform, or media environment. - Familiarity with online-platform regulation (DMA, DSA, UK OSA, AUS OSA, COPPA) is a plus but not required—you’ll learn fast. - A proven project manager who can juggle competing deadlines, keep stakeholders aligned, and drive programs to completion. - Excellent communicator who can chase down answers, brief senior stakeholders, and keep cross-functional partners on track. - Resourceful and scrappy—you figure things out, build the process, and don’t wait to be told what to do. - Skilled at document management, knowledge organization, and building the operational infrastructure a team needs to move fast. - Comfortable working across global time zones and cultures in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment. - Experience with project management tools (Jira, Asana, Notion, or similar) and a bias toward structured execution over ad-hoc work. Where You’ll Be - This role is based in New York, NY. - We offer you the flexibility to work where you work best! There will be some in person meetings, but still allows for flexibility to work from home. We ask that you come in 2-3 times per week. The United States base range for this position is $125,701 - $179,574 plus equity. The benefits available for this position include health insurance, six month paid parental leave, 401(k) retirement plan, monthly meal allowance, 23 paid days off, 13 paid flexible holidays, paid sick leave. These ranges may be modified in the future. Spotify is an equal opportunity employer. You are welcome at Spotify for who you are, no matter where you come from, what you look like, or what’s playing in your headphones. Our platform is for everyone, and so is our workplace. The more voices we have represented and amplified in our business, the more we will all thrive, contribute, and be forward-thinking! So bring us your personal experience, your perspectives, and your background. It’s in our differences that we will find the power to keep revolutionizing the way the world listens. At Spotify, we are passionate about inclusivity and making sure our entire recruitment process is accessible to everyone. We have ways to request reasonable accommodations during the interview process and help assist in what you need. If you need accommodations at any stage of the application or interview process, please let us know - we’re here to support you in any way we can. ## About Spotify ## Company Overview - **One-liner**: Spotify is the world's most popular audio streaming subscription service, connecting users to over 100 million tracks, 7 million podcast titles, and 700,000 audiobooks across 184 markets. - **Entity Type**: Public (NYSE: SPOT) - **Headquarters**: Stockholm, Sweden - **Founded**: 2006 - **Founders**: Daniel Ek and Martin Lorentzon ## Core Business - Primary industry: Audio streaming and digital media - Target customers: B2C (consumers via Free and Premium tiers) and B2B (advertisers, artists, and labels through Spotify Advertising and Spotify for Artists) - Mission: "To deliver creativity to the world—one note, one voice, one idea at a time." ## Products & Services - **Spotify Free**: Ad-supported streaming of music, podcasts, and audiobooks - **Spotify Premium**: Subscription tier with offline mode, improved sound quality, and ad-free listening - **Spotify for Artists**: Analytics, promotion, and monetization tools for creators - **Spotify Advertising**: Programmatic and self-serve ad platform for brands - **Audiobooks**: Catalog of 700,000+ audiobook titles (market entry in 2022) ## Market Standing - **Valuation/Market Cap**: Not disclosed in available sources; stock price reported at USD 391.23 (as of 2024-10-29) - **Key Metric**: Annual Revenue EUR 17.2B; 777 million monthly users including 300 million subscribers (per Spotify Newsroom).
