Help us deploy it. Energy should be free.  Free from aging grids, fragile supply chains, and unnecessary extraction. At Moment Energy, we’re building a world where clean power is abundant, affordable, and uninterrupted for everyone. The world doesn’t need another promise about energy; it needs proof that a freer future is possible. Moment Energy is the pragmatic liberator of power, the only company certified to turn the largest untapped energy supply into independent energy. Now is the moment. While the industry scraps millions of batteries with decades of life left, we put them to work by repurposing large-format batteries into advanced battery energy storage systems that deliver real-world impact. We were told second-life batteries would never be safe enough or scalable enough. We didn’t argue, we engineered the solution. Today, Moment Energy delivers 5x the energy density and holds the certifications required to deploy energy independence at scale. Now is the moment. Join us. The Opportunity Moment Energy is seeking a Final Assembly Lead Hand to lead a production team responsible for the final assembly of our battery energy storage systems. In this role, you'll oversee the assembly of large industrial enclosures, routing of high-voltage power systems, and execution of End-of-Line (EOL) and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) before systems are shipped to customers. Working closely with our Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality teams, you'll provide hands-on technical leadership, mentor technicians and apprentices, and support prototype builds, manufacturing improvements, and production excellence as we continue to scale. This role is ideal for an experienced Industrial Electrician, Millwright, or heavy assembly professional who enjoys leading by example while delivering safe, high-quality products in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. ## Responsibilities and Duties - Lead the final assembly of complete battery energy storage systems, including structural assembly, heavy-gauge power cabling, busbars, conduit, and complex wire harnesses. - Safely operate overhead cranes, gantry systems, forklifts, and other material handling equipment to position heavy industrial components. - Ensure precise mechanical alignment, critical clearances, door seals, and torque values in accordance with engineering drawings and manufacturing specifications. - Install and wire sub-panels, industrial disconnects, transformers, breakers, and other high-capacity electrical interfaces. - Ensure all electrical routing, crimping, and connections comply with the Canadian Electrical Code (CSA C22.1) and internal quality standards. - Perform End-of-Line (EOL) testing, including point-to-point wiring validation, insulation resistance (Megger), grounding checks, and power-on safety verifications. - Support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) alongside Quality Assurance and Engineering teams, ensuring systems perform as expected before shipment. - Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical and electrical issues identified during final assembly and testing. - Assign daily work, mentor technicians and apprentices, and promote safe, efficient, and high-quality production practices. - Complete build travelers, quality checklists, and final inspection documentation. - Support prototype builds, engineering projects, and continuous manufacturing improvements related to electrical systems and power integration. The Candidate We’re looking for individuals with the following traits, skills, and experiences: - Valid Canadian Journeyperson certification as an Industrial Electrician, Industrial Mechanic/Millwright, or equivalent trade. - Candidates without a Journeyperson certification who possess 7+ years of verifiable experience in heavy industrial machine building, enclosure manufacturing, and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) are also encouraged to apply. - Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in heavy equipment manufacturing, industrial switchgear assembly, custom automation machinery, or a similar capital equipment production environment. - Demonstrated experience assembling, integrating, and troubleshooting complex mechanical and electrical systems. - Proven experience performing electrical testing, including insulation resistance (Megger), continuity, hi-pot, grounding, and other production validation tests. - Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems, heavy mechanical assembly, the Canadian Electrical Code (CSA C22.1), manufacturing drawings, and quality standards. - Ability to interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and assembly documentation. - 1–3 years of experience serving as a Lead Hand, Charge Hand, or mentor within a manufacturing environment. - Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. - Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and workmanship. - Ability to lift up to 23 kg and work safely on ladders, platforms, and throughout an active manufacturing environment. Nice-to-Have Experience: - Red Seal certification as an Industrial Electrician or Industrial Mechanic/Millwright. - Experience working with lithium-ion battery systems, battery energy storage systems (BESS), electric vehicle technologies, or other renewable energy products. - Experience participating in customer-witnessed Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT). - Experience operating overhead cranes, forklifts, and other industrial lifting equipment. - Experience supporting prototype builds, new product introduction (NPI), or manufacturing process development. Why join us? - Today, we’re delivering 5x the energy density and have all the certifications needed to ship energy independence to the world. - Be part of a mission-driven company focused on creating sustainable energy solutions and making a positive impact on the world. - Collaborate closely with passionate co-founders and a team committed to innovation and excellence. - Contribute to building and scaling a company from the ground up, where your work will have a direct and meaningful impact. - Thrive in a workplace that values collaboration, wellness, and celebrating successes, with regular company socials, fitness sessions, and more. We're a fast-paced and dynamic team. Every day you'll be taking on a new challenge and learning something new. You'll take on a wide breadth of tasks and contribute to disrupting the battery industry. You'll be part of a tight-knit team that is working together to save the planet! Fun, health, and wellness are incorporated into our daily schedule and we encourage all our team members to bring innovative ideas to the table to create an interactive workplace.
