Then go get it for them. ## Why This Exists A federal arbitration system called Independent Dispute Resolution, or IDR, now determines billions of dollars in healthcare payments each year. Providers win the vast majority of disputes, yet most eligible claims are never filed. The process is manual, fragmented, and resource-intensive, and most providers don't have the infrastructure to pursue what they're owed. The No Surprises Act created the framework, and the market already exists. Today it runs on spreadsheets, consultants, and static playbooks. We're building the first intelligent system designed to operate inside it. The market is unusual: our prospects are already losing money they're entitled to, they mostly know it, and they've concluded the process is too painful to pursue. That's not a hard sell. It's a hard trust problem. ## Why This Is Hard (and Interesting) Health systems don't buy from salespeople. They buy from people who understand their problem better than they do. Your buyer is a revenue cycle VP or a hospital CFO. They're risk-averse, they're regulated, and most of them have been burned by a vendor who promised something and didn't deliver. A cold outreach with a demo request gets deleted. A conversation that opens with their own CMS data, showing exactly which claims they under-filed and what it cost them, gets a meeting. Then you have to survive their procurement process. Technical review, security assessment, BAA, MSA, legal redlines, and a committee. It takes months and it kills vendors who aren't prepared. The good news is that once you're through, you're through. These relationships are long, they expand facility by facility, and the switching costs run in your favor. ## Who We Are Recourse is being built in partnership with 25M Health, a healthtech venture firm. We have institutional backing, a shared platform team spanning engineering, strategy, design, and back-office, and early access to large provider systems. We are actively filing disputes for real customers, including a large multi-facility health system and a litigation-finance partner with hundreds of millions in claim value. This is a funded, validated opportunity with real customers and real data. We are a small, nimble team. We move quickly and we value clarity over theater. We want this to be the best work of your career. The stretch you look back on as the one where you shipped real things, with people who raised your game, on something that mattered. We care about clear thinking, high ownership, intellectual honesty, and direct communication. We believe operations, product, and engineering should operate as one pod, not three functions. We want the machines to do machine work, and the humans to do their best work. ## The Role You'll own new health system and physician group relationships from first contact through signature and expansion. You will: - Run the full cycle: qualification, discovery, business case, procurement, and close - Build the opportunity analysis for each prospect using public CMS data, so every first conversation starts with their actual numbers - Navigate enterprise procurement: technical review, security assessment, BAA, MSA, and the committee that has to approve it - Expand existing accounts from one facility to many, and from one service line to several - Own a number. Pipeline, closed ARR, and the health of the relationships after signature - Feed what you hear in the market back into product, because you'll hear it first - Help shape how we position ourselves as the category matures ## Who You Are You've sold into health systems before. You know what a revenue cycle VP cares about, how hospital procurement works, and why a deal that felt closed can sit for two months. You're consultative by instinct. Your best deals came from understanding a problem deeply, not from working a sequence. You'd rather send one well-researched note than fifty templated ones. You're comfortable with data. You can build the business case yourself. You don't need someone to make you a deck before you can have the conversation. You are AI-pilled. You've used AI tools to research accounts, prepare for calls, and do work that used to take a team. You have opinions about which ones are useful and which are hype. You have a bias to action. You don't default to no. Speed of iteration over polish of iteration. You start, you learn, you fix things in motion. Most decisions are reversible and do not need extensive study. You are intellectually honest. You don't oversell. In a market where every prospect has been burned, the fastest way to build trust is to be straight about what we can and can't do. You say when you're wrong. You put the team first. You are reliable and fully invested. You take your vacations. You check on your teammates. You help build a culture where people do their best work because they are supported, not squeezed. ## What You Bring - 5+ years in enterprise healthcare sales, business development, or partnerships - A track record closing six-figure ARR deals with 6 to 12 month cycles - Direct experience selling to health systems, hospitals, or large physician groups - You have personally been through hospital procurement and survived it - Comfort with data and analytical tools. You build your own business cases - Clear written communication. Your emails get replies from people who ignore most vendors - A preference for small teams and early-stage chaos over mature org charts Strong plus, not required: revenue cycle, claims, payer contracting, or No Surprises Act exposure. If you have the domain you'll ramp faster. If you don't, we'll teach you. Sound judgment, commercial instinct, and ownership mindset are required. Grit matters more than pedigree. ## Why This Role You'd be selling something that works and that customers are measurably better off for buying. The value is not a projection in a deck, it's dollars recovered that were previously written off. That changes the whole texture of the conversation. You'd also be early enough to shape the commercial motion rather than execute someone else's. The playbook doesn't exist yet. You'd write it. If you want this to be the most memorable stretch of your career, where you shipped something real, with a team you respected, in a domain that actually matters, this is the seat. Please apply even if you don't fit 100% of these requirements. We would like to talk. ## Equal Opportunity Recourse is an equal opportunity employer. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law. We believe the best teams are built from people with different backgrounds and perspectives, and we're committed to creating an environment where everyone can do their best work. ## About recoursehealth.com ## Company Overview - **One-liner**: Recourse Health provides an AI-powered claims-intelligence platform that automates the end-to-end federal Independent Dispute Resolution (IDR) process for healthcare providers, optimizing disputes for dollars recovered rather than win rate. - **Entity Type**: Private (Seed stage) - **Headquarters**: San Francisco, California, USA - **Founded**: 2026 - **Founders**: David Hegarty (CEO & Founder) ## Core Business - Primary industry/industries: Healthcare Technology (Healthcare IT), Claims Management, Revenue Cycle Management - Target customers: Healthcare providers (physician groups, hospitals), particularly those navigating the federal IDR process created by the No Surprises Act (B2B). - Mission or purpose statement: To run federal IDR for physician groups and optimize every filing for dollars recovered, lowering the filing threshold and maximizing recovery per claim. ## Products & Services - **Recourse Claims Intelligence Platform**: A SaaS platform that uses AI and large language models (LLMs) to automate the entire IDR workflow.
