We design and operate state-of-the-art modular sawmills that produce high-grade dimensional wood products with greater efficiency and less waste. Backed by leading investors including Cantos, Slow Ventures, Banter Capital, Humba Ventures, and Ravelin Capital. The Lumber Manufactory is seeking a Recruiter to run hiring from first conversation to signed offer. You'll own full-cycle recruiting, working closely with hiring managers and our People and Talent team. This is a chance to build the team behind a new generation of sawmills as we bring new sites online at a fast-growing, venture-backed company. The people you hire will be running our mills and building our technology within weeks. This role is based in our Seattle office and is best suited for candidates who are already local, with regular travel to our Mississippi mill sites for hiring events and on-site interviews. In This Role, You Will - Own full-cycle recruiting for salaried and hourly roles across engineering, finance, operations and production: intake, sourcing, screening, interview coordination and offers. - Run intake meetings with hiring managers to agree on what the role needs, how we'll interview, and how long each step should take. - Source candidates on LinkedIn, Indeed and other channels, and build pipelines for hard-to-fill skilled trades like millwrights and maintenance technicians. - Screen candidates against the role's requirements and keep hiring managers focused on people who are a strong fit. - Schedule interviews yourself, from phone screens to on-site loops, and handle confirmations, reminders and follow-ups with candidates and interviewers. There's no separate recruiting coordinator, so this is a core part of the role. - Keep Ashby accurate and up to date, with clear notes, timely stage moves and feedback collected from every interviewer. - Plan and run hiring events and job fairs in Northeast Mississippi, and partner with local staffing agencies, schools and workforce centers. - Guide offers from approval to signature, and hand new hires off smoothly to onboarding. - Give every candidate a clear, respectful experience, including timely updates and closing the loop when we don't move forward. - Track pipeline and time-to-hire, and suggest ways to make our hiring process faster and more consistent. - Travel regularly to our Mississippi mill sites. - Adapt to changing priorities and support team and operational needs as they evolve. ## Who You Are - A hands-on recruiter who is just as comfortable hiring a forklift operator as a mechanical engineer. - Organized and quick to follow up: candidates and hiring managers always know where things stand. - A strong partner to hiring managers who can push back kindly when a search needs a different approach. - Energized by building something new and comfortable with the pace and ambiguity of a growing company. ## Qualifications - 3 - 5 years of full-cycle recruiting experience, in-house or agency. - Experience hiring for both hourly and salaried roles, ideally including manufacturing, skilled trades or other industrial roles. - Hands-on experience with an applicant tracking system (Ashby a plus) and LinkedIn Recruiter. - Experience scheduling interviews across busy calendars and time zones across the US (Pacific, Central and Eastern). - Strong writing and communication skills, and comfort talking with candidates and leaders at every level. - Able to travel regularly to Northeast Mississippi. The expected salary range for this position is $98,000 to $132,000. Placement within this range is determined by the candidate's relevant experience, skills, and educational background as compared to the requirements of the role. We offer competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits, including: - 100% employer-paid health coverage for employees and dependents (medical, dental, and vision) - 100% employer-paid life insurance and disability coverage - Paid time off and company holidays - The opportunity to help build something from the ground up in an essential, evolving industry Join our team as we modernize timber from forest to finished product. The Lumber Manufactory is an equal opportunity employer committed to building an inclusive team. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law. ## About The Lumber Manufactory ## Company Overview - **One-liner**: The Lumber Manufactory (TLM) is building a nationwide network of modular sawmills to convert America’s timber surplus into a resilient domestic lumber supply for the housing industry. - **Entity Type**: Private (Venture-backed; Series B) - **Headquarters**: Seattle, Washington, United States - **Founded**: 2023 - **Founders**: Not publicly available ## Core Business - **Primary industry**: Paper and Forest Product Manufacturing / Industrial Sawmill Operations - **Target customers**: B2B; Landowners, timber communities, and the housing/construction supply chain - **Mission or purpose statement**: To reimagine sawmill operations with modular technology that is faster, smarter, and better for America’s forests, converting local fiber into a resilient domestic lumber supply. ## Products & Services - **Modular Sawmill Network (Service/Infrastructure)**: TLM designs, deploys, and operates a network of next-generation, modular sawmills.
