Our mission is to make clean, high-temperature nuclear power scalable, unlocking abundant energy for industry, hydrogen, and next-generation manufacturing. We are a team of builders, engineers, and operators who believe nuclear energy should be fast to deploy, factory-made, and built for the real world. Our first pilot plant in Orangeville, Utah will demonstrate how advanced nuclear systems and fuel fabrication can power the future. Joining Valar Atomics means becoming part of a company where autonomy, ownership, and impact exist at every level. The Team As part of the Business organization, People and Talent attracts, develops, and supports the exceptional individuals who drive Valar's success. The team partners across the company to build a high-performing organization through recruiting, employee development, engagement, and people operations. ## The Role Valar is hiring across all orgs and the volume keeps climbing. We're looking for a Recruiting Coordinator to carry live searches from week one: scheduling interviews, hosting candidates onsite, managing travel, and keeping Greenhouse accurate across every pipeline in flight. Our coordination team already runs a working process, built for a smaller company than the one we're becoming. You'll step into it, then improve it. Competing calendars, late cancellations, and shifting priorities are the normal condition here, and you'll be trusted to resolve most of it yourself. Candidates meet Valar through you first. ## Key Responsibilities - Own interview scheduling across teams, time zones, and sites, including the multi-panel days. - Host candidates onsite and run the day so interviewers and candidates always know where they stand. - Coordinate candidate travel and review the expenses - Own Greenhouse data hygiene: stage accuracy, interview kits, scorecard completion, clean candidate records. - Close the gap between offer accepted and first day: background checks, paperwork, and the handoff to People Operations. - Resolve scheduling conflicts on your own judgment, bringing recruiters and hiring managers the tradeoff and your recommendation rather than the raw problem. - Keep pipelines moving with recruiters and hiring managers, flagging stalled candidates and interviewer bottlenecks before a search goes cold. - Learn what we build and who we hire well enough to answer a candidate's questions yourself. - Improve the coordination process as you learn it: bring the problem, the proposed fix, then the implementation. - Pitch in on whatever hiring needs most that week, no matter the title on it, no task here is too small when a candidate or a deadline is on the line. ## Basic Qualifications - Experience managing complex calendars and using tools such as Outlook and Microsoft Office. - Strong written and verbal communication skills with a customer-service mindset. - High level of organization with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. - Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion. - Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team. - Based in or willing to relocate to Torrance, CA - 5 days onsite ## Preferred Skills and Experience - 2+ years of experience in recruiting coordination, talent operations, or HR coordination. - Experience using Greenhouse or a similar Applicant Tracking System (ATS). - Bachelor's degree. - Experience improving or streamlining recruiting or operational processes. ## Equal Employment Opportunity Statement Valar Atomics is an equal opportunity employer. We consider all qualified applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other protected status under applicable law. We are committed to providing a workplace free of discrimination and harassment and will provide reasonable accommodation as required by law. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States as a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident (green card holder). Salary $85,000—$100,000 USD ## About Valar Atomics ## Company Overview - **One-liner**: Valar Atomics is scaling nuclear energy through grid-independent, high-temperature gas reactors (HTGR) for hydrogen production, data center power, heavy industrial power, and clean hydrocarbon fuel synthesis. - **Entity Type**: Private (total funding $494M–$600.5M, latest round Debt - II) - **Headquarters**: El Segundo, California, United States (additional location in Orangeville, Utah) - **Founded**: 2023 - **Founders**: Not publicly listed (key executives include President Muhammad Shahzad and CNO Mark Mitchell) ## Core Business - **Primary industry**: Nuclear energy / advanced nuclear reactor technology - **Target customers**: Large-scale industrial users (hydrogen producers, data centers, heavy industry), grid-independent operations, and fuel synthesis plants (B2B, Enterprise) - **Mission or purpose**: “Nuclear needs scale” – unlock economies of scale by building hundreds of reactors on Valar gigasites, divorcing industrial power from the traditional grid. ## Products & Services - **[Ward 250 Reactor]**: A grid-independent HTGR using TRISO fuel, designed for high-volume, non-bespoke production.
