팀 소개

Physical Intelligence Lab의 연구 범위는 컴퓨터 비전 전반에 걸쳐 있습니다. 이미지·영상 인식, 객체 탐지, 멀티모달 학습, 3D 이해를 비롯해 비전검사, Document AI, Robotics 등 다양한 응용 분야로 기술을 확장하고 있습니다. 이를 통해 LG 그룹의 다양한 사업 영역에 적용 가능한 핵심 비전 기술과 서비스 기반을 마련하고, 나아가 미래 산업을 선도할 혁신적인 Application 개발에 기여하고 있습니다.

Physical Intelligence Lab의 연구원들은 “눈으로 세상을 새롭게 해석한다”는 철학 아래, 대규모 데이터와 최첨단 AI 모델을 활용해 현실의 복잡한 문제 해결에 도전하고, 글로벌 학계·산업과의 협업을 통해 최신 연구를 빠르게 흡수하고, 이를 실제 제품과 서비스로 이어가며 연구와 비즈니스의 선순환을 만들어가고 있습니다.

그 중 Visual Understanding Tech cell에서는 VLM(Vision-Language Model)을 다양한 도메인에 특화시키는 고도화 연구를 수행하고, 각 도메인의 요구사항에 맞춰 시각 이해 능력을 극대화하는 작업을 진행하고 있습니다. 또한 로봇의 지능을 담당하는 핵심 기술로서 Embodied Reasoning 연구를 수행하여, 시각 정보를 기반으로 물리 세계를 이해하고 추론하는 능력을 로봇 지능으로 연결하는 것을 목표로 하고 있습니다.

- EXAONE 기반 VLM-ER 개발
- 로봇 제어 및 물리 세계 이해를 위한 VLM 기반 모델 개발
- 업무 예상 내용 (세부 내용 추후 논의)
- Long-term Planning을 위한 모델 아키텍처 연구
- 3D Spatial Reasoning을 위한 모델 아키텍처 연구
- Video Data에 대해 효율적으로 동작하는 VLM 모델 개발
- Embodied/Physical Reasoning 성능 개선을 위한 연구
- VLM에서 VLA로의 효율적 transfer를 위한 방법론 연구

전형절차
