In this role, you will collaborate with scientists and engineers focusing on the development of optical interconnects for control, readout and networking of quantum processors. As a RF Electronics Engineer, you will contribute to the conceptualisation, design and realisation of hardware for the delivery and detection of RF signals in the SHF band, both at room temperature as well as at cryogenic temperatures. In-depth understanding of quantum networking or quantum computing is not required for this role. You will be involved in: - Simulation, design and measurement of ICs, PCBs and interconnects for high-integrity delivery and detection of RF signals in the SHF band for both room temperature and cryogenic hardware. - Development of circuitry for impedance matching of electro-optic and opto-electronic converters. - Analysing, summarising, and presenting results through reports, presentations, and technical discussions. - Collaborating closely within a diverse, multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers. Skills and knowledge you will bring to QphoX: - A masters (WO) degree in electrical engineering, physics or a related subject. - 2+ years of industry or applied research experience in one or more of the following: RF circuit design, RF systems engineering, RF test & measurement. - Proven track record in conceptualization and design of high-frequency electronic circuits, components and interconnects. - Advanced to expert level knowledge in using EM field solver software, such Ansys HFSS, Cadence AWR, SONNET and COMSOL. - Proficiency in practical characterization and testing of microwave devices using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, vector network analysers and spectrum analysers. - Experience designing analogue electronics circuit and PCB based RF solutions. - Experience with Altium is an advantage. - The ability to work collaboratively with inter-disciplinary teams. - An organised and rigorous working style.
