Ruby Developer Location: Remote (U.S.) Salary: $140,000 - $150,000 annually Clearance: Public Trust Eligible Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Ruby Developer to design, develop, and maintain APIs supporting mission-critical applications within the VA Lighthouse platform. The ideal candidate is a strong Ruby on Rails engineer with experience building scalable, secure, and high-performing APIs in a collaborative Agile environment. ## Key Responsibilities - Design, develop, and maintain REST and GraphQL APIs. - Write production-grade Ruby code for core services and applications. - Collaborate with technical leadership to ensure code quality, security, and maintainability. - Develop integrations with internal, external, and third-party systems. - Create and maintain API documentation and development standards. - Implement authentication, authorization, encryption, and API security best practices. - Monitor and optimize API performance, reliability, and scalability. - Support API versioning and backward compatibility. - Troubleshoot production issues and participate in Tier 1/Tier 2 on-call rotations. - Promote the use of AI-enabled development tools to improve productivity and code quality.
