The Sales Associate is a part-time, on-site team member supporting both retail and spa operations at Oak Essentials Malibu. This person helps maximize retail sales, supports the guest experience for spa visitors, and assists the Retail & Spa Lead with day-to-day floor and booking operations — ensuring every guest interaction reflects top-tier Oak Essentials brand representation. This is a hands-on, guest-facing role. Retail Sales & Client Experience - Maximize sales and provide friendly, welcoming, guest-first customer service - Communicate effectively with customers to determine their needs and recommend products - Build relationships with clients and maintain an updated client book - Handle all point-of-sale transactions including sales, exchanges, refunds, gift cards, and gift wrap - Encourage guests to join the Oak Essentials community (email/SMS list) and engage with us on social media Spa & Guest Experience Support - Support the spa booking and scheduling system, assisting with appointment coordination and treatment room turnover - Serve as a welcoming on-site point of contact for spa guests, coordinating check-in and hand-off to licensed aestheticians - Help maintain treatment rooms, retail floor, and guest areas to Oak Essentials cleanliness and presentation standards - Assist with guest intake and flag scheduling conflicts or service-related issues to the Retail & Spa Lead - Help deliver a seamless, elevated experience for every guest, including VIP or high-touch clientele Store Operations - Support daily opening/closing procedures and sales floor operations under the direction of the Retail & Spa Lead - Take an active role in maintaining visual merchandising standards and product displays - Assist with inventory tracking, restock requests, stock transfers, and receiving new merchandise - Ensure POS and inventory accuracy - Participate in on-location events, activations, and launches Communication & Loss Prevention - Communicate effectively through sharing feedback with the Retail & Spa Lead and writing daily business recaps - Secure company assets through loss prevention in compliance with company policies and guidelines ## Qualifications and Requirements - Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in retail sales; spa, clean beauty, or luxury/upper-contemporary background preferred - Can-do, guest-first attitude with a commitment to providing excellent customer service - Experience handling VIP or high-touch clientele a plus - Willingness and availability to work during peak business periods — weekends, holidays, etc. - Familiarity with spa booking software a plus - Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills - Knowledge and experience with POS and inventory management systems, Microsoft Word and Excel - Comfortable working in a team environment - Must be able to lift and move heavy objects (20 pounds or more) from time to time as required - Flexibility to stretch to other duties as assigned and be a team player Additional Notes This job description is not all inclusive.
