Most of that knowledge stays siloed. Altura changes that. We turn the bid function into a source of real competitive advantage: faster cycle times, better win rates, insights that flow back into the business. We're not competing on features. We're building the category. Our AI workflows are purpose-built for how bid teams actually work, and the closer we sit to customers, the better we get. That's where you come in. ## WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS Europe’s governments spend €2 trillion a year through 700,000+ public tenders, and in the private sector, RFPs account for roughly 40% of B2B enterprise revenue, with the average bid team defending nine figures in annual revenue across ~150 responses a year. The companies competing for that money still run their bid process manually, over email, and without automation built on institutional knowledge. We’re building the AI bid management category that changes that. The time for growth is now. We have recently rebuilt our entire product from scratch and revamped our GTM process, both of which are now fully AI-native. ## THE ROLE You'll own prospecting and deal strategy for a market that doesn't quite know it needs what we're building yet. That means you're not selling a solution to a known problem, you're helping customers see the problem differently. What you'll do: - Prospect with intent. Make calls. Identify people running bid functions who are frustrated, not efficient, or leaving money on the table. Build pipeline with real energy and purpose—not volume for volume's sake. - Get under the hood. Good discovery here isn't about needs analysis. It's about understanding workflows: How do they actually manage a bid cycle? Where does information get lost? Who gets asked the same question twice? Where do they lose deals they should win? Your job is to listen for the problem they haven't named yet. - Navigate complex deals. Bid decisions involve multiple stakeholders—procurement, finance, legal, ops. You'll manage those conversations, move deals toward close, and think strategically about what actually needs to happen to make this real for them. - Build real relationships. This isn't transactional. You're selling a category, which means you're partly educator, partly strategist. Customers need to trust that you understand their world, not just that you're chasing commission. - Partner with our VP, Revenue and the broader team. Help us refine who we're looking for and how we're talking about what we do. Your customer feedback shapes our go-to-market. - Own your pipeline and your targets. Full transparency: we track this. You'll know where you stand, and so will we. ## WHAT YOU BRING Required: - 3-5 years of hands-on SaaS sales experience. You've built pipeline. You've closed deals. You've missed quarters and learned from it. - Comfort with outbound prospecting. No apologies. You pick up the phone. You reach out cold. You do this because it works and because you're built for it, not because someone told you to. - Entrepreneurial mindset. You understand that breaking open new markets requires old-fashioned grinding. You bring momentum. You figure things out instead of waiting for permission. - Strong discovery and communication skills. You ask questions that actually uncover something. You listen. You translate what you hear into specific solutions instead of pitching a generic product. - Track record of hitting targets. We can talk about it in the interview, but your history should show you know how to run a pipeline and close deals. - Native or bilingual Dutch + fluent English. Benelux is where we're focused. You need both languages to move through these conversations. - Problem-solving mindset. When something isn't working, you don't wait for clarity—you move forward with what you know. Bonus: - You've sold products with multiple use cases or real complexity (not point solutions). - You've sold to markets beyond Benelux and understand regional differences. - You've sold something that required customer education—not because it was confusing, but because the category was new. ## WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS Enterprises leave millions on the table annually through inefficient bid processes. The bid management software market is still in the early innings. Most organizations are still running bids with email, spreadsheets, and people working nights before deadline. They don't realize how much this costs them—lost deals because information got buried, longer cycle times, knowledge that walks out the door with one person. That means your job isn't to convince someone to switch from Competitor A to Competitor B. It's to show them that the way they're running bids today is costing them money, deals, and time. And that there's a different way. The market hasn't woken up yet. That's exactly where we make the difference. It's harder than traditional sales. It's also more interesting. You're not closing deals—you're opening possibilities. ## INTERVIEW PROCESS 1. People & Talent Lead: Conversation about who you are and what you're looking for. 2. Chief of Staff: Strategic thinking and how you operate. 3. Day at Altura: This is the real one. You'll do: - Mock Discovery Call: A realistic scenario. How would you approach it? - 1:1 with VP, Revenue (your hiring manager): Deep dive on your background, your approach to prospecting, how you think about deals. - 1:1 with Sr. Account Executive: Real talk about what the job is actually like. - CEO Final: Culture and vision alignment. ## THE REALITY This is hard. You'll spend weeks building rapport with someone who's not ready to move yet. You'll navigate organizations where three people have to agree. You'll hear "no" more than "yes," at least initially. But if you're someone who gets energized by figuring out complex problems, building real relationships, and opening doors that were closed before—if you'd rather spend your day having smart conversations than watching conversion funnels—this is the role.
