Summary of Position: Position Responsibilities - Prepare month-end journal entries and account reconciliations/supporting schedules across cash, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, accruals, G&A activity, and other GL accounts - Perform account analyses, investigate variances, and support timely, accurate completion of monthly/quarterly close activities - Prepare schedules and documentation supporting internal reporting, external reporting, audits, quarterly reviews, and SOX compliance - Partner with cross-functional teams to gather information needed for accounting entries and analysis - Support efforts to continuously drive cross-functional improvements, as well as create process documentation - Execute special ad-hoc projects as requested to support the greater Finance team Candidate Requirements - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field - 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience - CPA or equivalent is preferred - Life sciences, biotechnology, or pharmaceutical industry experience preferred - Public company experience preferred - NetSuite and/or SAP experience preferred - Experience with month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and account analysis - Exposure to SOX controls and audit support preferred - Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment - Ability to work independently, take initiative, and follow through on open items - Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with team members and cross-functional partners - Strong Excel and computer skills required - Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate, well-supported work - Curious, proactive, and motivated to learn and grow within a developing accounting organization Scholar Rock is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
