## 🧑‍💻 THE ROLE

We are looking for a dedicated and creative AI Engineer to join our team. As an essential contributor to our mission of transforming healthcare, you'll play a leading role in building AI-driven solutions that directly influence clinical research and, ultimately, improve patient care. We’ve already deployed multiple AI use cases in production, and your skills will be crucial in pushing the boundaries of healthcare AI.

## 💊 RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role, you'll take on complex challenges that will stretch your abilities and creativity:

- Choose and orchestrate the right models to process and analyze multimodal data
- Design and implement cutting-edge RAG techniques to efficiently handle large medical documents and patient histories
- Build agentic systems to revolutionize key aspects of drug development such as patient recruitment or site selection
- Work closely with cross-functional teams (software engineers, product managers, data engineers) to seamlessly integrate AI into our platform
- Implement robust and scalable pipelines that meet production-grade engineering standards

Here are some examples of projects you might work on:

- Our prescreening tool: an app relying on the latest reasoning models and visual RAG to accelerate patient recruitment. It's already being used across hundreds of clinical sites to assess patient eligibility at scale. You may find more on this in our publication: https://arxiv.org/abs/2503.15374
- Our site selection agent https://inato.substack.com/p/five-challenges-faced-when-building: an agentic assistant coupled with a mathematical optimizer to assist pharmaceutical sponsors in their search for efficient clinical sites and find the right mix of sites for every study

## 💊 QUALIFICATIONS

- Hands-on professional experience on LLMs (OpenAI, Anthropic, RAG setup, agent setup, LLM observability tools etc.), 1 year in a production environment (not a pet project)
- Python proficiency
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills, oral and written, both English and French
- Strong product mindset able to challenge the product roadmap directly with our CPO
- Experience implementing and deploying AI-based features in production
- Knowledge about LLM’s evaluation challenges
- Ability to autonomously deliver clean and production-ready code
