Since 2022, we've partnered with some of the world's top founders and institutions, including Amazon, Andreessen Horowitz, Cursor, Mercor, Listen Labs, Tech Week, Cartesia, and many more. We're growing quickly and looking for ambitious people who want to help build the company alongside us. ## About the Role We're looking for a Senior Designer to create exceptional brand and digital work for some of the most ambitious companies in technology. This is a senior, hands-on design role for someone with exceptional craft, strong conceptual thinking, and the ability to take meaningful ownership of projects from early exploration through final delivery. You'll work across brand identities, websites, campaigns, and launch moments — developing ideas, building visual systems, and pushing the work beyond the obvious. You'll collaborate closely with creative leadership, project managers, strategists, and other designers while owning significant portions of the creative process yourself. You'll also work directly with clients, presenting concepts, explaining creative decisions, responding thoughtfully to feedback, and helping move projects toward strong outcomes. We're looking for someone who wants to do career-defining work, move quickly, push creative boundaries, and help raise the standard of what Nen puts into the world. ## What You'll Do Design & Craft: Create exceptional work across brand identity, visual systems, websites, campaigns, and launch experiences. Bring a high level of taste, detail, and polish to everything you touch. Concept Development: Develop distinctive creative directions from early exploration through fully realized systems. Push beyond the first idea, challenge conventions, and find solutions that feel ownable and memorable. Project Ownership: Take meaningful ownership of projects and workstreams from concept through delivery. Manage your own work effectively, anticipate what needs to happen next, and make sure details don't fall through the cracks. Client Collaboration: Present work clearly and confidently, articulate the thinking behind creative decisions, respond thoughtfully to feedback, and build trust with founders and senior stakeholders. Creative Collaboration: Work closely with creative leadership, strategists, developers, project managers, and other designers to make the work stronger. Give thoughtful feedback and contribute actively to critiques. Raise the Bar: Help improve the quality of our work, our creative process, and the way we present ourselves as a studio. Bring new references, ideas, techniques, and perspectives into the team. ## What We're Looking For - 3–7 years of experience as a designer, ideally within a strong branding, design, or creative agency environment. - Exceptional design craft and taste. You have a strong portfolio demonstrating excellent typography, composition, visual systems, identity work, and digital design. - Strong conceptual thinking. You can develop ideas, not just execute layouts, and know how to turn a strong concept into a cohesive visual system. - High ownership and reliability. You do whatever it takes to get important work over the line, stay calm under pressure, and don't need someone chasing you to make things happen. This is not a role for someone looking for a strictly 9–5 mindset. - Strong with clients and presentations. You're comfortable presenting your work, explaining your thinking, receiving feedback, and navigating creative conversations professionally. - Able to move fluidly between thinking and making. You can zoom out to understand the bigger creative idea and zoom all the way into the details required to make the final work exceptional. - Driven to raise the bar. You're ambitious about your craft, curious about what's happening in design and culture, and constantly looking for ways to make the work more distinctive. ## Why Join Nen Creative - Be part of a small, fast-growing studio trusted by world-class startups and investors - Work directly with top founders shaping the future of tech - Clear growth path as we scale — you’ll help define the design practice itself - Remote-friendly, flexible, and entrepreneurial environment - Healthcare, PTO, 401K ## About Nen Creative ## Company Overview - **One-liner**: A design studio that partners with early-stage tech companies to build brands, products, and stories through strategy, design, and video. - **Entity Type**: Private (Bootstrapped) - **Headquarters**: New York City, New York, United States - **Founded**: 2022 - **Founders**: Jason Zhu (Co-Founder, Partner) and Michael Zhu (Managing Partner, Co-Founder) ## Core Business - **Primary industry**: Design services (brand identity, product design, video production) for technology startups - **Target customers**: B2B – early-stage startups, venture capital firms, and tech companies - **Mission or purpose statement**: “We build brands, products, and stories that move bold ideas forward.” (About page) ## Products & Services For each major offering: - **Brand Identity & Strategy**: Logo design, brand guidelines, deck design, collateral, iconography, art direction, illustration. - **Website Design & Development**: Full web design and development (likely using Webflow), interactive prototypes, design systems. - **Product (UI/UX) Design**: User research, UX architecture, interface design, interactive prototyping for digital products. - **Video Production**: Launch videos, testimonial videos, scripted content, product videos, animation, motion design, cinematography. - **Pitch Deck Design**: Specialized decks for fundraising, built to help startups tell their story to investors. ## Market Standing - **Valuation/Market Cap**: Not publicly available - **Key Metric**: Total headcount of 16 employees (as of mid-2024) with 68.8% year-over-year growth (+11 people) - **Notable Investors/Partners**: Clients include Pear VC, Andreessen Horowitz, LA-Tech Week, Wildr, Mantis VC (from LinkedIn) - **Growth Signals**: - 32 active job postings (monthly job postings up +88.2%, quarterly up +113.3%) - LinkedIn followers: 3,724 (+162.1% year-over-year) - Monthly website traffic: 6,381 visits (+64.0% monthly growth) - Expanding presence: New York City headquarters with job postings in San Francisco and Jersey City ## Competitive Advantages - **Full-service capability**: Offers brand, product, and video under one roof – a rare combination for a small studio. - **Startup empathy**: Founders and team have backgrounds in building and scaling products, so they understand the pace and constraints of early-stage companies. - **Speed and precision**: Described as “disciplined, fast, and precise” – moving like a startup while crafting like a studio. - **Strong client roster**: Already working with top-tier VC firms and high-growth startups, signaling trust and quality. ## Strategic Focus - **Current priorities**: Scaling the team across multiple disciplines (design, motion, production, account management, strategy) to meet growing demand from tech clients. - **Direction for growth**: Likely expanding into new geographies (San Francisco, Jersey City) and deepening capabilities in video and motion design. ## Why Work Here - **Culture highlights**: Creative, startup-like environment that values discipline and craft.
