At Zero Homes, we operate on a simple premise: when you make contractors successful, homeowners win. The current home services industry is fragmented, complex, and opaque, which is frustrating for homeowners and exhausting for contractors. We are changing this by building a home upgrade marketplace that enables a simple, central, transparent process for homeowners and contractors to complete projects. Through our platform we handle design, quoting, procurement, and customer service, allowing our contractor network to focus on what they do best and make them money: delivering projects. For homeowners, this delivers a predictable, high-quality, and transparent experience—transforming home upgrades from a source of anxiety into a seamless experience. Our vision is to create a world where homeowners and contractors in all 50 states can leverage our platform to execute thousands of projects every week within the next 36 months. We work by a clear set of values: - Be a "can kid," not a "can’t kid": We own our outcomes and go to extraordinary lengths to solve problems. - Go fast, be clear: Speed is our advantage, and we sweat the details to deliver an extraordinary customer experience. - Customer & Contractor Obsessed: We have a deep, personal understanding of the work to be done. We stay curious about our contractors' craft and the stories of our homeowners. - Win, as a team: We are building an iconic business that will reinvent the industry, and will do so together. If you are ready to build a world-class consumer experience that genuinely rebuilds American communities, come build with us. ## About Your Role & Impact We are hiring a Senior Business Development Manager to be a player-coach and the front-line leader of our partnerships team. You will personally own relationships with strategic, Tier-1 utility and program-administrator partners, while setting the pace and coaching a growing pod of individual contributors through their own complete deals. In your first 90 days, success looks like transitioning key named accounts, advancing major 6- or 7-figure partnerships, and establishing the operating rhythm (pipeline reviews, forecasting, CRM discipline) that turns segment strategy into reliable revenue. You will serve as the primary escalation point to unblock deals, orchestrating cross-functional execution with Programs, Marketing, and Finance to move partnerships from signed to generating qualified homeowner projects. This role is designed for someone who has closed complex partnerships themselves and wants to multiply their impact through a team, with a direct path to a Manager role within 12 months. ## Who You Are You are an expert technical communicator, a rigorous pipeline manager, and a natural leader who thrives in complex B2B2C ecosystems. You know how to translate intricate utility-program requirements into persuasive proposals, and you can coach junior team members to do the exact same thing. You possess an innate ability to solve complex problems under time pressure. When roadblocks hit, you don't just map out Plan B for yourself; you can coach the team to find creative solutions rather than accepting defeat. You balance professional poise with commercial grit, knowing how to apply positive pressure internally to unblock your team, and externally to keep deals moving. You command the room with senior utility executives, but you are equally comfortable working alongside the team doing deep work to understand the end-to-end impact our work has on our contractors and homeowners. ## What you Bring - 6 - 9 years of total experience, including proven success in building pipelines and closing complex high-value B2B partnerships within utilities, energy, or regulated markets. - 1-3 year of experience mentoring, coaching or leading sales / partnership individual contributors, with a desire to formally move into people management. - Demonstrated ability to build trust and earn respect with C-level utility executives, regional energy efficiency programs, utility program managers, implementers, and non-profits. - Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of distilling technical complexity into simple, compelling narratives and proposals. - Fluency in B2B GTM operating disciplines ( MEDDPICC, account plan development, pipeline deal nurturing, accurate forecasting) and disciplined CRM rigor. - A bias for action and can-do mindset - taking total ownership of both your territory targets and the team's collective success. - Flexibility for 30% to 40% travel to support in-market partner meetings, trade shows, and industry events. Zero Homes is committed to creating an inclusive and accessible experience for all candidates. We encourage you to apply even if you believe that you do not meet all of the above criteria! ## About Zero Homes ## Company Overview - **One-liner**: Zero Homes provides a fully digital platform for residential heat pump and HVAC upgrades, combining virtual home assessments, engineering-driven design, transparent pricing, and a vetted local installer network. - **Entity Type**: Private (venture-backed, Series A) - **Headquarters**: Denver, Colorado, United States - **Founded**: 2022 (official company listing; LinkedIn also lists 2021) - **Founders**: Grant Gunnison (CEO) ## Core Business - **Primary industries**: Residential HVAC / Heat-pump electrification, Home improvement, Climate technology - **Target customers**: Homeowners (B2C) and utilities (B2B, via programs like the Neighborhood Residential Retrofit pilot for Xcel Energy) - **Mission or purpose**: Remove friction from home electrification upgrades, making the process transparent, fast, and trustworthy — “like buying anything else in the modern world.” ## Products & Services - **Virtual Home Assessment (App)**: Homeowners scan their home with a smartphone; Zero generates a digital twin and an ACCA Manual J® certified load calculation without an in-home visit. - **Design & Quoting Platform**: Proprietary tools produce a detailed, unbiased system design with line-item pricing for equipment, labor, and rebates. - **Curated Installer Network**: Pre-vetted, licensed, and insured local contractors handle permits and installation; Zero manages the entire project end-to-end. - **Rebate & Financing Handling**: Zero automatically applies all qualifying rebates before financing the remainder, lowering the upfront cost. ## Market Standing - **Valuation**: Not disclosed - **Key Metric**: $20.1M total funding raised (including $16.8M Series A in February 2026) - **Notable Investors/Partners**: Prelude Ventures (lead), SJF Ventures, Exelon Foundation, VoLo Earth Ventures, Overture VC, FJ Labs - **Growth Signals**: Roughly 50-person team (as of early 2026); active installations in Colorado, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Illinois, and California with plans to expand further in 2026; DOE-validated remote quoting technology; selected CEO for NREL’s inaugural West Gate cohort. ## Competitive Advantages - **Fully digital, no in-home sales visit**: Homeowners get a complete assessment, quote, and schedule from their couch, eliminating the typical high-pressure, opaque contractor process. - **Independent, unbiased design**: Zero does not take referral fees or kickbacks from equipment manufacturers; every design is proprietary and certified. - **End-to-end project management**: One point of contact from assessment to install, including rebate paperwork and permits — contractors gain a streamlined workflow and homeowners gain a single touchpoint. - **Vetted contractor network**: Every installer is independently licensed, bonded, and insured; Zero follows up if issues arise. ## Strategic Focus - **Market expansion** into new U.S. states beyond the current five. - **Broader product offerings** beyond heat pumps (e.g., broader HVAC and home electrification upgrades). - **Growing the contractor network** to scale installation capacity while maintaining quality. - **Deepening utility partnerships** (e.g., the Xcel Energy NRR pilot) to unlock more rebate programs for homeowners. ## Why Work Here - **Mission-driven culture**: Work directly on climate impact — electrifying homes and reducing carbon emissions; founded by an MIT/NASA engineer with a background in the trades. - **Virtual-first, but anchored in Denver**: The company describes itself as “virtual-first,” yet the headquarters is in Denver and many roles (e.g., Insights Manager, Director of People, System Designer) are listed as on-site or hybrid in Denver. - **Current open roles** (as of Sep 2026): Product Manager, Senior Full Stack Engineer, Mobile Engineer, Senior Program Manager – Utilities, Customer Success Coordinator, Growth Marketing Manager, Product Marketer, and more. - **Small, growing team** (~50 people) with a fast pace and direct impact on product and operations. - **Culture signals**: Rated 3.8/5.0 on LinkedIn (work-life, compensation, culture all 3.8). Emphasis on autonomy, transparent pricing, and quality. ## Sources 1. [zerohomes.com/about](https://www.zerohomes.com/about) 2. [zerohomes.com](https://www.zerohomes.com/) 3.
