Responsibilities include circuit analysis, schematic creation in Altium, firmware development in C/HDL, and system integration using Linux. ## Job description Here at Humanoid, we believe in a future where robots amplify human potential. That’s why we’ve set out on a mission to build the world’s most capable, commercially-scalable, and safe humanoid robots. We’re bringing that mission to life with HMND‑01 Alpha - our rapidly developed humanoid platform now running in real industrial pilots - and we’re growing the team to take it even further. ## About the Role As a Senior Electrical Design Engineer at Humanoid, you will design and develop electrical systems that power and control advanced robotic platforms, focusing on sensors, compute architecture, and power systems. You will apply strong circuit analysis skills to review designs, troubleshoot issues, and ensure reliability, while creating schematics and PCB layouts in Altium. In addition, you will develop firmware in C and HDL for embedded systems, use Linux for system integration and testing, and leverage lab equipment to validate performance. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will help ensure seamless integration of electrical systems within the overall robotics platform. ## What You’ll Do - Develop electrical systems that power and control Humanoid’s advanced robots, with a focus on sensors, compute architecture, and power systems. - Use strong circuit analysis fundamentals to review electrical designs, conduct failure analysis, and troubleshoot complex electrical systems. - Create detailed schematics and PCB layouts using Altium, ensuring the designs meet the performance, reliability, and manufacturability standards required for robotics. - Write firmware in C and HDL to program microcontrollers, DSPs, and FPGAs, testing and refining embedded designs to ensure optimal performance. - Utilize your knowledge of command-line Linux to configure networks, run software, and interface with robots for testing and validation. - Use a variety of lab equipment, including oscilloscopes, DMMs, power supplies, programmable loads, and spectrum analyzers, to validate designs and solve complex electrical engineering challenges. - Work closely with mechanical engineers, software developers, and other team members to integrate electrical systems with robotics hardware, ensuring seamless operation and performance. We’re Looking For We are looking for talented candidates who have great fundamentals in electrical engineering and humanoid robotics. Here is a list of expertise or experience that would be a valuable asset to our team. You don’t need to have experience in ALL of these areas to be considered for this position: - BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field. - Experience with high-speed data technologies such as PCIE, Ethernet, EtherCAT and/or other communication protocols in PCB-based devices and systems. - Experience developing power regulation and distribution systems, including particular expertise with short-circuit protection systems, switching power supplies, and creative power management technologies. - Proficiency with PCB design tools (e.g., Altium) for schematic capture and layout. - Familiarity with embedded programming, including C, HDL, and other relevant languages for microcontrollers, DSPs, and FPGAs. - Working knowledge of circuit simulation, analysis, and debugging techniques, including the use of oscilloscopes, power supplies, and spectrum analyzers. - Experience with Python, C++, LabView, or MATLAB for automation and testing. - Knowledge of SolidWorks or similar mechanical CAD tools. - Familiarity with Verilog or VHDL for hardware design and simulation. - Experience in building Linux kernels and modifying or writing device drivers. ## What We Offer - Comprehensive extended health benefits starting on your first day, including fully paid medical and dental, virtual care, employee and family assistance, and worldwide emergency medical support. - Meaningful time off to rest and recharge: 23 days of annual leave (accrued), 15 days of paid sick leave, and paid company holidays. - Equity included–we believe builders should share in what they build. - Free daily catered lunch, snacks, and drinks in‑office. - Collaboration with top‑tier engineers, researchers, and product experts in AI and robotics. - Freedom to influence the product and own key initiatives. For this role in Vancouver, the expected base salary range is $120–$150 CAD per year; your placement in that range depends on how your experience maps to our internal leveling. ## About Humanoid ## Company Overview - **One-liner**: Humanoid builds commercially scalable, safe, and reliable humanoid robots designed to automate labor-intensive industrial tasks across warehousing, logistics, manufacturing, and retail. - **Entity Type**: Private (Seed stage) - **Headquarters**: London, United Kingdom (HQ) with offices in Cambridge, MA, USA; Burnaby, BC, Canada; and additional presence in Germany, Georgia, and the UAE. - **Founded**: 2024 - **Founders**: Artem Sokolov (CEO & Founder) ## Core Business - **Primary industry/industries**: Robotics Engineering, Humanoid Robotics, Industrial Automation, Artificial Intelligence - **Target customers**: B2B / Enterprise — industrial sectors including retail, e-commerce, third-party logistics (3PL), manufacturing, and automotive. - **Mission or purpose statement**: “Empowering humanity by building the most reliable, safe, and helpful humanoid robots.” The company aims to free people from repetitive, dangerous, and tedious work, allowing them to engage in more creative and meaningful activities. ## Products & Services - **HMND 01 Alpha Wheeled**: A robust industrial-grade wheeled humanoid robot designed for material handling, pick-and-place, and visual inspection in warehouses and factories.
