I lead our events team and work closely with the group day to day, setting strategic priorities, coaching on execution, and making sure we show up well everywhere we go. This role holds two connected things. You'll own Jane's field marketing program, the dinners, happy hours, and gatherings we host in the markets that matter most to us, and you'll also carry a portfolio of tradeshows. The booth is how practitioners find us, and the field event is where we get to know them. As Jane grows, both matter more. We're investing intentionally in how we show up at industry conferences, and we're building field marketing close to the ground up so our presence in a city is more than a booth for three days. That means this role is part strategy and part logistics. You'll be the person deciding where a local gathering will land well, and the person confirming the AV setup the night before. This is an individual contributor role reporting to me. You'll shape the annual field marketing plan with me, run the events, manage the program budget, and build the playbooks, reporting, and training that let field marketing scale as the team grows. If you like designing experiences people remember, and you're equally happy building the spreadsheet that keeps them on budget, this could be a great fit. This role includes travel within Canada and the United States approximately 30% of the time, typically three to four events per quarter for onsite execution at industry conferences, tradeshows, and field marketing events. Field events are often paired with a tradeshow in the same market and same trip. Travel frequency may flex based on event timing and team needs. What Impact We're Looking for You to Make - Build and own Jane's field marketing program, planning and executing local events alongside roughly 12 to 15 of our annual tradeshows in the markets where a gathering will deepen relationships with customers and the practitioner community - Make our market presence feel like one effort rather than two, so the booth you run and the event you host around it share the same audience, messaging, and goals - Pilot new engagement ideas, activations, and formats that turn field marketing from a set of one-off events into a program the team can scale and drives results. ## What You'll be Doing Field Marketing Program (your primary ownership area): - Develop the annual field marketing plan, identifying where local events will have the greatest impact based on market density, discipline focus, and Jane's strategic priorities, and bring it forward for alignment with me and our cross-regional partners - Define clear objectives for each event and decide how you'll measure success before you start. Some events are about deepening relationships in an established market, others about awareness in a newer one - Lead end-to-end execution including creative concept, venue sourcing, vendor negotiation, budgeting, run of show, and onsite delivery - Own pre-event strategy: audience targeting, messaging themes, invite approach, and testing new ways to drive attendance - Own post-event strategy: attendee follow-up, recap communications, and the next steps that keep momentum going after everyone goes home - Establish a cohesive visual identity for field marketing so invitations, signage, and materials feel recognizably like Jane from one market to the next - Design experiences that give customers and prospects a real reason to talk to us - Identify and develop opportunities to co-host with ambassadors, associations, and schools to extend Jane's presence in priority markets, in partnership with our Partnerships team - Translate strategic direction into clear execution plans with minimal oversight, making event-level tradeoffs confidently and escalating when a decision affects broader strategy or budget Tradeshow Portfolio & Market Coordination: - Plan and execute Jane's exhibitor presence at your assigned tradeshows, including booth setup, staffing coordination, asset and swag preparation, product demos, and onsite customer engagement - Partner with the tradeshow lead in each market so the booth and the surrounding field event share the same audience focus, messaging, and market goals - Coordinate staffing with internal stakeholders so teams arrive prepared and know what's expected of them - Own the systems that keep logistics predictable across your portfolio: vendor and shipping coordination, event calendars, run sheets, and timelines - Support overflow tradeshows as needed to maintain team capacity and stay fluent in booth execution, including full ownership when assigned - Contribute to annual event planning conversations across Canada and the US, bringing market-level insight and performance analysis into the room Budget, Reporting & Program Infrastructure: - Build and manage program-level budgets, forecasts, and reconciliations, tracking forecast against actuals and flagging variance early. - Establish and maintain a standardized reporting model covering attendance, engagement quality, cost per attendee, leads captured, qualitative feedback, and budget performance, tracked over time rather than event by event - Prepare event program reporting for leadership, shaping the templates and metrics alongside me - Manage event tech platforms so registration and attendee engagement run cleanly, and partner with Marketing Operations on CRM tracking and timely lead handoff after each event - Create and maintain the practical planning tools the team relies on, and use AI or automation where it helps - Design and deliver onboarding and training for new Events Specialists so they're equipped to independently manage their own events, and share what you learn to help Specialists grow into more senior work The Experience We Need - 5+ years in experiential event marketing, including experience owning both brand-hosted or field marketing events and a portfolio of industry tradeshows at meaningful volume (15+ shows per year) - Hands-on experience executing a company's exhibitor presence at tradeshows and conferences, including booth logistics and onsite execution - Experience designing an event program: setting objectives, choosing markets, and defining how success gets measured, then building the templates and playbooks that make it repeatable - Strong financial acumen, with real experience building event budgets, negotiating with vendors, tracking forecast against actuals, and handling post-event reconciliation - Comfort representing events in cross-functional conversations, including with senior leaders, and translating priorities from Marketing, Support, Partnerships, and Leadership into clear event plans - Familiarity with event and tradeshow performance metrics such as leads captured, attendee engagement, cost per attendee, and cost per lead, plus the judgment to know which ones matter for a given event - Excellent organizational instincts. You think three steps ahead, hold a lot of detail at once, and stay calm when plans shift, which they will - Care for how an event feels, including inclusivity and accessibility, so every attendee feels considered - Clear written and verbal communication, with the ability to work independently while staying aligned with the team and cross-functional partners - Comfort keeping projects moving in tools like Slack, Google Workspace, Monday, and Notion More About Jane Jane is a founder-led, high-growth SaaS company with a remote-first team working across Canada, the US, and the UK, united by our mission to help the helpers. This role has an annual salary range of $84,800 - $132,500. While that is a large range, it is intentional. It reflects the full growth journey someone might take in the role, from developing skills early on to becoming highly proficient and ultimately achieving excellence. Most new hires join at the accomplished stage, which for this role represents an annual salary of $100,700. A starting salary below this typically indicates a candidate with strong potential who is still developing key skills. Salaries above this usually apply to existing team members who have made a significant impact and bring deep Jane-specific knowledge. We believe in paying for growth. You'll have regular career development conversations with your manager, and your compensation will grow as you gain experience and contribute meaningfully to our mission. Paying clearly is one of our compensation fundamentals. Watch [this](https://vimeo.com/880258361) short video to learn how our salary bands are set. You're also encouraged to ask questions about compensation at any point during the interview process. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package.
