Today’s aircraft contribute around 4% of global CO2 emissions, equivalent to the emissions of 200 million cars. This is only going to increase: Air travel is forecasted to double by 2050, while meaningful efficiency gains using current airplanes have hit a wall. JetZero is developing a blended-wing body (BWB) aircraft. It uses up to 50% less fuel and will be built to accommodate zero-emission hydrogen propulsion. What You'll Do: - Define and maintain EWIS architecture, including wiring routing, separation, protection, and termination strategies.​ - Develop and manage EWIS requirements and compliance documents per FAA/EASA regulations.​ - Conduct zonal analyses to ensure segregation, redundancy, and safety compliance.​ - Support trade studies to optimize EWIS routing for BWB and nontraditional layouts, balancing weight, maintainability, and safety.​ - Collaborate with systems teams (avionics, electrical power, propulsion, environmental control, structures) for EWIS integration.​ - Coordinate with design teams on harness design, installation requirements, and connector selection.​ - Assist in developing EWIS design tools, digital mock-ups, and routing databases.​ - Prepare and present technical documentation for certification authorities and internal design reviews.​ - Provide support during manufacturing, installation, and testing phases.​ What You Bring: - Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.​ - Experience in EWIS architecture development for transport or commercial aircraft.​ - Strong understanding of FAA/EASA Part 25 EWIS requirements and related guidance material (AC 25.1701-1, AMC 20-22, etc.).​ - Proficiency with wire schematics and harness design in Siemens Capital​ - Create and maintain electrical standard parts catalog, BOM, and wiring list​ - Support other systems to define equipment interfaces and harmonize across systems to support wiring interconnects​ - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.​ - Excellent communication skills, capable of working across disciplines.​ Preferred Skills (Nice to Have):​ - Experience with novel aircraft layouts (e.g., blended wing body, eVTOL, or distributed propulsion).​ - Familiarity with electrical bonding, shielding, and EMI/EMC compliance.​ - Knowledge of system safety assessments (SSA/FHA) and their impact on EWIS design.​ - Background in Nx electrical routing tools​ - Background in production/installation processes for wiring harnesses.​ - Experience with digital twin/model-based systems engineering (MBSE) for EWIS. - Completion of degree or certification from a trade school and/or A&P license. - Experience in aerospace manufacturing with wire routing, dressing, hook-up/mating connections. - Experience in aerospace manufacturing with wire rework (wire repair, rerouting, connector disconnect, pin removal/install, splicing, soldering, and heat shrink). Compensation: Our compensation package is a blend of base salary and equity options for eligible employees. The range for this role is $180,000 to $220,000.
