Users can search performances, explore a diverse range of drag events, purchase tickets, and follow updates on shows and performers in their area. The product combines event management, ticket management, e-commerce, and community features with machine-learning-driven discovery. ## Market Standing - **Valuation/Market Cap**: Not disclosed - **Key Metric**: Total Funding β€” USD $106,000 (Venture Round, December 2023; roughly $106K) - **Notable Investors/Partners**: Funding source not named publicly. The company reports it may leverage government grants to support early roles. Strategic relationships include municipal/community partnerships β€” e.g., the "Drag Me Downtown" performance series with the Downtown SF Partnership in San Francisco. - **Growth Signals**: - Headcount growth reported at +33.3% month-over-month on LinkedIn (2–3 employees) - Press coverage in CBS News, Axios, and SFGATE for "Drag Me Downtown" events (2024) - Product launch announced April 2024 via LGBTQ+ community media (What's On Queer BC) - Workforce distributed across Canada and Bangladesh, indicating remote-first hiring ambitions - Active hiring in 2026 for product development roles (Senior Full-stack Developer, General Application) ## Competitive Advantages - **Category focus**: A niche, dedicated platform built specifically for drag entertainment discovery and ticketing β€” unlike general-purpose event apps (Eventbrite, Ticketmaster, etc.) that lack community-specific identity. - **Community & mission alignment**: Operates as a QueerTech startup with an authentic, values-driven connection to drag performers and the 2SLGBTQIA* community, which drives loyalty and differentiated brand positioning. - **Artist-first economic model**: Platform is explicitly designed to help drag be a sustainable full-time career, creating a value proposition that attracts top performers and exclusive events. - **Early-mover in a growing market**: Drag culture has expanded significantly in mainstream media; Drag Me positions itself at the intersection of entertainment, nightlife, and queer commerce before larger players have consolidated the space. ## Strategic Focus - **Product expansion**: Building and improving the mobile/web applications on both back end and front end, with active job postings for full-stack development. - **Community partnerships**: Yearly programming like the "Drag Me Downtown" series with the Downtown SF Partnership demonstrates a city-level engagement strategy to bring visibility and foot traffic to urban centers. - **Economic empowerment**: Leveraging the platform to create more revenue streams and full-time career opportunities for drag performers, while using grant funding and lean operations to extend runway. - **Scaling an inclusive engineering team**: Hiring remote talent across Canada/USA, with a strong cultural emphasis on psychological safety and collaboration. ## Why Work Here - **Mission-driven impact**: Directly contributes to the economic empowerment and visibility of drag performers and the 2SLGBTQIA* community β€” a rare opportunity to combine engineering with social impact. - **Culture & values**: The team emphasizes compassion, collaboration, communication, and creating a psychologically safe environment for underrepresented groups. They explicitly welcome candidates of all backgrounds, abilities, and identities. - **Work flexibility**: Remote roles available across Canada and the USA; the General Application role is listed as remote/hybrid from Vancouver. - **Early-stage influence**: With only 2–3 employees, new hires will have outsized ownership over architecture, product decisions, and company trajectory. - **Candid transparency**: The company is upfront about being bootstrapped/grant-funded and posts "EQUITY ONLY" compensation for development roles β€” suitable for someone who believes in the mission and wants long-term upside. - **Community-centric perks**: Working directly with drag culture and local queer communities provides a distinctive, lively, and culturally meaningful day-to-day environment. ## Sources 1.
