The Senior Global Director, Tax and Audit leads the Tax and Audit function and is responsible for global tax strategy, tax compliance, transfer pricing, indirect tax, statutory audit coordination, external audit partner management, benefit plan audits in the U.S., acquisition tax and audit integration, tax and audit risk management, and coordination of external tax and audit advisors across all jurisdictions. This role builds a scalable tax and audit governance function that supports expansion from 11 countries to more than 20 while balancing compliance, timeliness, technical quality, defensible positions, efficient audit execution, and practical business support. Key Responsibilities: Develop and lead the global tax strategy, including corporate income tax, transfer pricing, VAT/GST and other indirect taxes, withholding taxes, intercompany arrangements, entity structure, and tax-efficient expansion planning. Establish and maintain a coordinated global tax compliance calendar covering income tax filings, statutory requirements, indirect tax returns, transfer pricing documentation, tax audits, and regulatory changes. Manage global tax advisors, audit partners, statutory audit firms, and local providers, ensuring consistent technical quality, timely filings and audit completion, clear accountability, appropriate staffing, and cost-effective support. Partner with Accounting and FP&A to support tax provision, cash tax forecasting, deferred tax analysis, uncertain tax positions, tax accounting, and board or investor reporting. Own the global audit governance model, including annual consolidated financial statement audits, country statutory audits, local audit requirements, audit partner engagement, audit scope coordination, audit fee management, milestone tracking, issue escalation, and timely issuance of audited financial statements. Coordinate statutory audits in all required countries, working with local finance teams, global accounting, local audit firms, and external advisors to ensure local statutory accounts are prepared, reviewed, approved, filed, and issued on time and in compliance with local requirements. Maintain a global audit and statutory compliance calendar covering audit planning, interim procedures, year-end fieldwork, prepared-by-client schedules, statutory account preparation, local board approvals, filings, management representation letters, benefit plan audit deadlines, audit committee materials, and management letter follow-up. Drive audit readiness by coordinating required schedules, reconciliations, supporting documentation, tie-outs, variance explanations, legal entity financial statements, consolidation support, tax provision support, and responses to auditor requests across Finance, HR, Legal, IT, and local country teams. Oversee U.S. benefit plan audits, including coordination with HR, plan administrators, trustees, recordkeepers, third-party administrators, and external auditors to support timely, accurate audit completion and related regulatory reporting. Track audit findings, control deficiencies, management letter comments, statutory filing issues, benefit plan audit recommendations, and remediation commitments, ensuring ownership, deadlines, follow-up, and recurring reporting to Finance leadership. Lead tax workstreams for acquisitions, including diligence support, purchase accounting inputs, structure review, integration planning, inherited tax exposure assessment, and Day 1 compliance readiness. Design and monitor internal controls over financial reporting, including segregation of duties, approval workflows, reconciliations, manual journal entries, and close certifications. Design and defend global transfer pricing policies, intercompany agreements, service fee frameworks, management charge models, and documentation requirements. Advise business leaders on tax implications of new country entry, customer contracts, cross-border resource deployment, permanent establishment risk, payroll tax coordination, and entity rationalization. Build tax controls, documentation standards, escalation procedures, and governance processes appropriate for a larger multinational company. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Tax, Finance, Business, or related field required CPA, JD, LLM in Tax, Chartered Tax Advisor, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent strongly preferred. 10+ years of progressive tax, audit, controllership, statutory reporting, or financial compliance experience, including multinational corporate tax, transfer pricing, indirect tax, tax compliance, external audit coordination, statutory audit management, and external advisor management.
