We have managed to produce the world's first single-crystal diamond wafers and are now on a mission to put a diamond behind every chip. We are the rare unicorn that has grown fast and profitably. We received $515m in funding and are executing a multi-$B expansion plan for one of the greenest forms of tech manufacturing: converting greenhouse gas into diamond wafers using zero-emission energy. We are seeking a highly experienced Senior IT Data Systems Administrator to architect, scale, and optimize our mission-critical IT infrastructure across Spain and our global locations. As a key technical lead, you will drive the stability, security, and operational excellence of our technology stack, balancing high-level infrastructure strategy with proactive systems management. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in clustering, high-availability environments, and enterprise networking, with solid experience in Linux systems and/or database administration. You will be instrumental in evolving our IT operations, providing architectural guidance, and collaborating cross-functionally to ensure our systems effectively support our rapid, large-scale growth. ## Responsibilities - Manage, maintain, and improve critical IT infrastructure, ensuring reliability, performance, and availability across our locations. - Support and troubleshoot servers, virtualization platforms, storage, networking, and high-availability environments. - Maintain security, identity management, and access controls across enterprise systems. - Coordinate infrastructure upgrades, installations, migrations, hardware lifecycle activities, and vendor relationships. - Contribute to infrastructure improvements, technical documentation, and best practices to support our growing operations. ## Requirements - 7+ years of experience in systems administration or IT infrastructure roles, preferably in complex enterprise environments. A relevant degree or equivalent practical experience is a plus. - Strong hands-on experience with enterprise servers, virtualization, and high-availability or clustering environments. - Experience administering Windows environments, Active Directory, and Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) tools. - Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to independently manage complex infrastructure issues. - Professional proficiency in English and Spanish, with availability to work onsite in Zaragoza and travel within Spain when needed. Experience with Linux systems and/or database administration is desirable but not required. Diamond Foundry believes in supporting our employees from the workplace to their personal and home life. We provide eligible employees with an opportunity to enroll in a variety of benefit programs, generally including health insurance, flexible spending accounts, retirement savings plans, life and disability insurance programs, and a number of programs that provide for both paid and unpaid time away from work. Perks include employee discounts to VRAI. All benefits offered are available starting your first day. Diamond Foundry is an Equal Opportunity Employer and considers qualified applicants for employment without regard to race, color, creed, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, age, disability, veteran status, or any other protected factor under federal, state or local law. ## About Diamond Foundry ## Company Overview - **One-liner**: Diamond Foundry creates single-crystal diamond wafers and diamond-based semiconductors to solve the thermal limitations at the core of AI, electric vehicles, and wireless communications. - **Entity Type**: Private (Series B, multiple debt rounds) - **Headquarters**: San Francisco, California, USA - **Founded**: 2013 - **Founders**: Engineers from Stanford, MIT, and Princeton (founded in 2012, incorporated 2013) ## Core Business - Primary industry: Semiconductor Manufacturing / Advanced Materials - Target customers: B2B, primarily enterprise partners in AI/cloud compute, electric vehicles, and 5G/6G wireless (chip makers, data center operators, automotive OEMs) - Mission or purpose: To put diamond behind every chip and eventually deliver diamond semiconductors with 17,200x the semiconductor merit of silicon. ## Products & Services - **[Diamond Wafer]**: Single-crystal diamond wafers designed to be placed behind high-power chips to solve thermal management. Claims 8x smaller power electronics than Tesla’s. - **[AI & Cloud Compute]**: Diamond-powered AI datacenter solutions, leveraging diamond’s extreme thermal conductivity to enable faster, denser compute. - **[Consumer Jewelry (VRAI)]**: Sustainably created diamond jewelry, serving as the company’s consumer-facing brand and proof of its diamond-growing capability. - **[Electric Car Components]**: Diamond-based power electronics for electric vehicles, improving efficiency and reducing size. ## Market Standing - **Valuation**: Not disclosed (was a unicorn as of Series B).
