## Job description

Deine Mission & Herausforderungen

- Technische Richtung: Du prägst die technische Ausrichtung unseres klassischen Perception-Stacks. Du definierst Algorithmen, Architektur und Best Practices und bringst sie bis ins Produkt.
- Perception-Pipelines: Du entwirfst und implementierst Perception-Pipelines für Kamera-, Tiefen- und LiDAR-Daten, vom rohen Sensorsignal bis zu einem nutzbaren Weltmodell.
- Geometrische Bildverarbeitung & Punktwolken: Du entwickelst Algorithmen für geometrisches Sehen und Punktwolkenverarbeitung, etwa Stereo-Matching, Registrierung und modellbasierte Posenschätzung.
- Kalibrierung & Sensorfusion: Du verantwortest Sensorkalibrierung, Zeitsynchronisation und Multi-Sensor-Fusion.
- Zustandsschätzung: Du entwickelst Zustandsschätzung und Tracking auf Basis von Filter- und Optimierungsverfahren.
- Echtzeitfähigkeit: Du sorgst dafür, dass die Pipelines auf eingebetteter Hardware in Echtzeit laufen und unter realen Bedingungen robust bleiben.
- Evaluation & Benchmarks: Du richtest Evaluation, Benchmarks und Ground Truth ein und treibst messbare Verbesserungen bei Präzision und Robustheit voran.
- Geometrische Grundlage: Du lieferst die geometrische Basis (Kalibrierung, 3D-Daten, Posen), auf der das AI-Team aufbaut.
- Experte & Mentor: Du bist die erste Anlaufstelle für klassische Perception und coachst deine Kolleginnen und Kollegen.

Was du mitbringst

- Ausbildung: Master- oder Promotionsabschluss in Informatik, Robotik, Elektrotechnik, Mathematik, Physik oder einem verwandten Fachgebiet.
- Erfahrung: 5+ Jahre praktische Erfahrung in der Entwicklung klassischer, modellbasierter Perception-Software für Roboter, Machine Vision oder vergleichbare Echtzeitsysteme.
- 3D-Geometrie: Fundierte Kenntnisse in 3D-Geometrie, Kameramodellen und Kalibrierung.
- Schätzung & Optimierung: Ein starker Hintergrund in Estimation und Optimierung, z. B. Kalman-Filterung, RANSAC oder nichtlineare Least Squares.
- Sensorphysik: Ein solides Verständnis der Sensorphysik und der Fehlerquellen von Kameras, Tiefensensoren und LiDAR.
- Umsetzungsstärke: Erfahrung darin, technische Konzepte zu gestalten und bis zur Produktion zu bringen.
- Programmierung: Exzellentes modernes C++ und gute Python-Kenntnisse unter Linux.
- Bibliotheken & Frameworks: Erfahrung mit Bibliotheken wie OpenCV, PCL oder Eigen sowie mit ROS 2.
- Nice to have: Erfahrung mit GPU-Beschleunigung oder eingebetteten Plattformen.
