For more information, take a look at: [Announcing Camber](https://www.camber.health/knowledge/launch) About our Culture: Our mission to change behavioral health starts with us and how we operate. We don’t want to just change behavioral health, we want to change the way startups operate. Here are a few tactical examples: 1. Improving accessibility and quality of healthcare is something we live and breathe. Everyone on Camber’s team cares deeply about helping clinicians and patients. 2. We have to have a sense of humor. Healthcare is so broken, it's depressing if you don't laugh with us. About the role: Camber is looking for a designer who loves data and working on ways to make the massive amount of data that we have more helpful for both our internal and external users. This can mean anything from improving the ways that data gets put into our systems to creating new data visualizations that help clinics better understand how they can improve their billing outcomes. You’ll thrive in this role if you enjoy making sense of messy, complex systems. You’ll spend a lot of time learning how people work today, understanding the data behind those workflows, and turning ambiguity into clear, intuitive product experiences. We’re looking for someone who can move fluidly between zooming in on the details of a workflow and zooming out to see the larger system we’re building. What you’ll do: - Become the expert: You’ll be embedded on a team with internal users and form a deep understanding of their workflows. You’ll become an expert in how the work gets done and share that understanding back with the rest of the team and company. - Make complex things simple: You’ll untangle complicated processes, systems, and datasets and turn them into experiences that feel straightforward and intuitive. You’ll identify where complexity is necessary, where it can be removed, and where better product design can make it easier to navigate. - Use data to find and solve problems: You’ll dig into quantitative and qualitative data to understand what’s happening, identify patterns and opportunities, and inform your design decisions. You’ll be comfortable asking questions of the data, knowing when it tells you something useful, and recognizing when you need to go talk to a customer to understand the why behind it. - Create clarity: Many of the problems we work on don’t come neatly defined. You’ll help figure out what problem we’re actually solving, bring people together around it, and find a path forward. - Lead projects: You’ll take projects from 0 to 1—identifying problems, building alignment, designing solutions, and working with the team to get them shipped. - Design for now and later: You’ll balance the pragmatic solution we need today with the systems we’ll need to build over time. ## What we’re looking for - Experience: 5+ years of product design experience, ideally working on products or domains that are complex logistically and/or quantitatively. - Data fluency: You’re comfortable working with data and using it to understand problems, make decisions, and design better experiences. - Systems thinking: You’re interested in how workflows, data, people, and systems fit together—not just what happens on a single screen. - Customer empathy: You like getting close to users and understanding how they actually work, including the messy parts. - Curiosity: You love learning new things. You don’t need to know healthcare or billing, but you should be excited to dig in and become an expert. - Mission-driven: You’re motivated by helping clinicians spend less time on manual work and more time providing care. Perks & Benefits at Camber: - Comprehensive Health Coverage: Medical, dental, and vision plans with nationwide coverage, including 24/7 virtual urgent care. - Mental Health Support: Weekly therapy reimbursement up to $100, so you can prioritize the care that works best for you. - Paid Parental Leave: Up to 12 weeks of fully paid time off for new parents (birth, adoption, or foster care). - Financial Wellness: 401K (traditional & Roth), HSA & FSA options, and monthly commuter benefits for NYC employees. - Time Off That Counts: We offer flexible PTO, meaning you’re trusted to take the time you need to recharge while balancing your responsibilities and team commitments. - Fitness Stipend: $100/month to use on fitness however you choose. - Hybrid Flexibility: In NYC? We work in the office 3–5x/week, with flexibility when life happens. Fridays are remote-friendly. Camber is based in New York City, and we prioritize in-person and hybrid candidates. Please refer to the top of this page for this position's hiring location. Building an inclusive culture is one of our core tenets as a company. We’re very aware of structural inequalities that exist, and recognize that underrepresented minorities are less likely to apply for a role if they don’t think they meet all of the requirements. If that’s you and you’re reading this, we’d like to encourage you to apply regardless — we’d love to get to know you and see if there’s a place for you here! In addition, we take security seriously, and all of our employees contribute to uphold security requirements and maintain compliance with HIPAA security regulations. ## About Camber ## Company Overview - **One-liner**: Camber builds revenue infrastructure for specialty healthcare providers, replacing fragmented billing workflows with an intelligence layer trained on real claims data. - **Entity Type**: Private (Series B) - **Headquarters**: New York City, USA - **Founded**: 2019 - **Founders**: Christophe Rimann (CEO) and team (founding team includes operators with backgrounds in healthcare operations, revenue cycle, and specialty care administration) ## Core Business - **Primary industry**: Healthcare Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) / HealthTech - **Target customers**: Specialty care clinics and their investors, including Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy, Physical Therapy (PT), ENT/Allergy, and adjacent care specialties. Serves B2B (healthcare providers) and enterprise care networks. - **Mission or purpose**: To rebuild the revenue infrastructure American healthcare needed twenty years ago — replacing manual, reactive billing with a platform that gets smarter over time. ## Products & Services - **Camber RCM Platform**: An intelligence layer trained on $2.5B+ in live claims data. It unifies claims management, denial prevention, payment tracking, and analytics into a single operating system. Key features include a Rules Engine that learns from every denial, real-time denial risk detection before submission, and automation that handles volume while human experts handle exceptions. - **Camber Services**: A team of specialty care insurance experts who handle payer escalations, documentation disputes, and edge cases that automation cannot resolve. The model is "infrastructure first, services second." ## Market Standing - **Valuation/Market Cap**: Not publicly disclosed (Series B) - **Key Metric**: Total Funding — $50M raised (Series B led by Andreessen Horowitz) - **Notable Investors/Partners**: Andreessen Horowitz (lead in Series B), Y Combinator (Winter 2022 batch). Also backed by seed and Series A investors. - **Growth Signals**: - 500+ providers served across 50 states - Processes 1M+ claims annually - 95%+ first-pass paid rate - 29-day average days to collect - 7pp decrease in Initial Denial Rate within a year - 3pp increase in Net Collections Rate within a year - Expanded from ABA therapy leadership into Physical Therapy, ENT/Allergy, and broader specialty care - ~60 employees (as of Series B) - Rebranded from Juniper to Camber in 2024 to reflect evolution into a specialty care infrastructure company ## Competitive Advantages - **Data moat**: Trained on $2.5B+ in real claims data across specialty care environments — not synthetic data or generalized AI. Every claim processed makes the next one smarter. - **Specialty-specific focus**: Generalist RCM tools fail at the margins where revenue gets lost. Camber is custom-built for specialty care, where each payer and specialty has its own reimbursement logic. - **Infrastructure model over BPO**: The goal is a system that gets smarter over time, not a team that scales linearly with client volume. Automation handles volume; humans handle judgment-intensive exceptions. - **Operator-founded**: Built by people who spent careers inside healthcare operations and revenue cycle, giving them deep domain expertise. ## Strategic Focus - **Expansion into new specialties**: Growing from ABA leadership into PT, ENT/Allergy, and broader specialty care verticals. - **Enterprise care networks**: Targeting larger care networks and growth partner verticals. - **Infrastructure-first approach**: Continuing to build a platform that replaces layers of broken tools with a unified intelligence layer. - **Long-term horizon**: Building for where healthcare reimbursement and infrastructure will be in a decade, not where it is today. ## Why Work Here - **Culture highlights**: High pace, high autonomy, and a focus on outcomes over activity. The team values craft as a non-negotiable. Work is measured against real impact, not busywork. - **Team background**: Engineering team includes backgrounds from Stripe, Ramp, and Doximity. The company hires operators, engineers, designers, and policy minds who enjoy complex, ever-evolving challenges. - **Work policy**: Hybrid — office in New York City, team in office 3-5 days per week. Fridays are remote-friendly. The company believes proximity and real-time judgment are important for solving hard problems. - **Compensation**: Above-market for the top of the market. Equity is meaningful and transparent. They benchmark against where the best people in your field could go, not against mid-market. - **Benefits**: Full medical, dental, vision, and mental health coverage. 18 days PTO + rollover, plus company holidays. - **Stage**: Series B, ~60 employees — early enough for significant ownership and impact, late enough to have product-market fit and a repeating revenue model. ## Sources 1.
