By simplifying global trade information and providing valuable insights, we empower organisations to make informed decisions in commodities, energy, and maritime sectors. Since our founding in 2014, we have focused on delivering top-tier intelligence through user-friendly platforms. Our team of over 850 experts from 69 countries works tirelessly to transform intricate data into actionable strategies, ensuring our clients stay ahead in a dynamic market landscape. Join us to leverage cutting-edge innovation for impactful results and experience unparalleled support on your journey to success. As Geospatial Platform Product Manager, you will own the geospatial data  foundation within the Data Platform Tribe: precise geospatial reference data (e.g. countries, ports), reliable location events (e.g. port calls), and comprehensive physical asset data (e.g. refineries, power plants) that all product lines build upon. You'll define the vision and roadmap for these shared data products, drive alignment across Kpler's many product and engineering teams, support adoption, and ensure they evolve to meet the platform's growing demands. Your decisions will directly shape the quality and consistency of the intelligence Kpler delivers to its clients. This is a high-impact and cross-cutting role, sitting at the intersection of data, product, and engineering, for someone who thrives on building shared platform assets that others depend on. ## Responsibilities - Own the vision, strategy, and roadmap for core platform data products, including Geospatial Data, Assets Data, and Geometry Events, ensuring they provide consistent customer experiences and enable enterprise-wide data unification. - Define, prioritise, and evolve shared platform capabilities, including spatial data models, physical asset datasets, and geospatial event products that support multiple business domains and customer workflows. - Collaborate across product, engineering, geospatial analysts, market analysts, and 20+ cross-functional product teams to gather requirements, evaluate business value, align priorities, and deliver common platform capabilities that maximise reuse and consistency. - Drive product adoption by developing migration strategies, managing transition plans from legacy solutions, identifying delivery risks, and coordinating execution across multiple teams to ensure successful implementation. - Lead end-to-end product delivery by translating business needs into clear product requirements, managing and prioritising feature backlogs in Jira and Productboard, refining user stories, and ensuring engineering teams have the clarity needed to deliver high-quality outcomes. - Partner closely with Engineering Managers and software engineers to improve delivery efficiency, optimise development processes, remove delivery impediments, and ensure predictable, on-time execution. - Define product success metrics, monitor adoption and performance, and drive continuous improvements in data quality, discoverability, reliability, and overall platform effectiveness. - Act as the primary product representative for geospatial and asset data streams within the Data Unification programme, providing clear communication, stakeholder alignment, and cross-functional coordination across technical and business teams. ## Skills and Experience - Master's degree or equivalent practical experience. - 5+ years of Product Management experience, including at least 3 years owning and delivering shared or platform products that require cross-functional alignment, standardisation, and adoption across multiple internal consumers. - Proven experience defining product vision, strategy, and roadmaps, leading product discovery, and translating complex business needs into scalable platform capabilities that deliver measurable value. - Experience in either the Maritime/Commodity domain, with knowledge of maritime operations or geospatial products, or Data Platforms, with a strong understanding of data products, event-driven systems, data pipelines, and platform architecture concepts; experience across both domains is advantageous. - Strong technical product management capabilities, with the ability to collaborate effectively with engineering teams on data-intensive platforms, understand technical dependencies, and make informed product decisions without requiring hands-on software development. - Extensive experience working within Agile and Scrum environments, including backlog management, user story refinement, sprint planning, definition of done, release planning, and continuous delivery using tools such as Jira. - Solid understanding of data products and event-driven systems, with the ability to define product requirements that support scalability, reliability, and data quality. - Excellent communication skills, able to present complex technical and business concepts with clarity and conciseness while engaging effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. - Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships, actively listen to colleagues and customers, understand diverse requirements, and drive alignment across multidisciplinary teams. - Demonstrated ownership mindset with exceptional attention to detail, proactively identifying and mitigating risks, resolving issues, and ensuring successful product delivery and adoption.
