Companies, government, and investors are forced to perform heavily manual processes and piece together hundreds of disparate sources to make decisions. Obviant is building a data source of truth and AI tools for defense acquisition to solve this. We fuse information from thousands of sources – structured + unstructured – to provide a cohesive picture of budget, programs, the organizations running them, and much more. Whether it’s a company navigating GTM or a program manager developing capabilities, we’re providing all sides with the intelligence they need to execute effectively. We’re growing fast and backed by top funds and DoD/national security veterans. We believe that public sector mission sets matter above anything else. If you feel the same way, we’d love for you to join us. ## The Role We’re seeking a Senior Product Manager to own and drive core areas of Obviant’s platform, shaping how users discover, understand, and act on complex defense acquisition data. You will sit at the intersection of users, engineering, and the mission—translating real-world workflows into clear product direction and shipping high-impact features with urgency. This role requires strong product judgment, comfort with ambiguity, and a bias toward execution. You’ll work closely with engineering, data, and leadership to prioritize what matters most, define success, and continuously improve how Obviant delivers value to government and industry users. ## Responsibilities Product Strategy & Ownership - Own product areas end-to-end, from problem definition through delivery and iteration. - Develop and maintain product vision, roadmaps, and priorities aligned with company goals. - Make tradeoffs between speed, scope, and quality to maximize user impact. - Define success metrics and use data, user feedback, and judgment to guide decisions. User & Workflow Understanding - Develop deep understanding of user workflows across government, industry, and investor use cases. - Engage directly with users to identify pain points, validate solutions, and uncover new opportunities. - Translate complex, domain-specific problems into clear product requirements and narratives. Execution & Delivery - Partner closely with engineering to scope work, write clear requirements, and drive predictable delivery. - Break large initiatives into iterative, measurable increments that ship quickly. - Support design reviews, backlog grooming, sprint planning, and release coordination. - Ensure product decisions are clearly communicated and well understood across teams. Cross-Functional Collaboration - Collaborate with engineering, design, data, and leadership on prioritization and execution. - Align stakeholders around goals, tradeoffs, and timelines. - Coordinate with go-to-market, content, and communications teams to support launches and messaging. Product Quality & Evolution - Ensure features are intuitive, reliable, and aligned with real user needs. - Continuously refine product based on usage data, feedback, and evolving mission requirements. - Identify and manage product risks, dependencies, and technical constraints. ## Qualifications - 5+ years of product management experience building complex software products - Strong track record of owning products or features from concept to launch - Experience working closely with engineering teams in fast-moving environments - Ability to reason about complex data, workflows, and systems - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Strong product judgment and comfort making decisions under uncertainty - Passion for defense, national security, or public-sector missions - Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance Bonus: - Experience in govtech, defense, or regulated environments - Familiarity with data platforms, analytics tools, or AI-enabled products - Prior experience working directly with government users or policy-driven domains What Success Looks Like - Users clearly understand and trust the product’s value - High-impact features ship regularly and improve real workflows - Engineering execution is focused, predictable, and aligned with priorities - Stakeholders trust product direction and decision-making - Product strategy evolves in step with user needs and mission demands Our Principles We live these every day. If they don't sound like you, this won't be a fit and we'd both rather know now. - Impact. Our work matters. We take a lot of pride in building to advance mission outcomes. - Overdeliver. We go above and beyond in everything we do - creating products and serving our users - Hustle. We get stuff done, no matter what it takes. - Empathy. Our users’ problems are our own. We don't push products, we solve problems. - Humility. We’re not afraid to admit what we don’t know. Our job is to listen and grow. - Integrity. Transparency & respect above all else. It’s non-negotiable, even when it isn't easy ## Compensation and Benefits - Base salary of $180,000 – $220,000, commensurate with experience - Early stage startup equity grant - Health, dental, and vision coverage - Flexible schedule and vacation time - Hybrid, based out of our office in the DC metro area To apply, visithttps://www.google.com/search?q=https%3A%2F%2Fobviant.com%2Fcareers[obviant.com/careers](http://obviant.com/careers) Obviant is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
