The Subscriptions Mission builds and evolves Spotify's subscription products and marketplace experiences to drive sustainable user and revenue growth globally. We focus on awareness, acquisition, activation, retention, and monetization strategies that help users unlock the full value of Spotify while enabling the business to scale efficiently and responsibly. This role focuses on the awareness, acquisition, and activation layers of the Subscriptions Mission, making Premium feel unmissable to free users long before a purchase decision. You'll own the strategy for how users discover, understand, and develop intent for Premium value, partnering closely with product, design, engineering, research, marketing, and data science to shape the moments, surfaces, and experiences that drive consideration across markets and segments. ## What You Will Do - Own the product strategy and roadmap for how free users become aware of, experience, and develop intent for Premium, driving consideration, conversion intent, and subscriber growth across segments and markets. - Lead the discovery, design, and delivery of subscriber-facing features from early concept through global rollout. - Drive experiments that deepen our understanding of what makes users want Premium and measurably move free users closer to a purchase decision. - Turn behavioral, funnel, and market data into clear hypotheses, define meaningful success metrics, and build a prioritized experimentation roadmap. - Design rigorous A/B experiments to evaluate funnel changes against strong baselines, scaling approaches that demonstrably work across markets and segments. - Make pragmatic trade-offs across user value, revenue impact, regional nuance, and operational complexity, knowing when a simple flow change is enough and when a deeper platform capability is needed. - Partner with marketing, research, and regional teams to adapt value positioning and messaging for different markets, competitive landscapes, and user needs, including high-growth emerging markets where the path to Premium may look fundamentally different. - Communicate strategy, results, and trade-offs clearly to senior stakeholders, translating funnel mechanics and subscription economics into business impact and strategic direction. Where You'll Be - You have a strong track record in product management and have shipped consumer-facing products or features at scale, with experience that translates well to subscription, marketplace, consumer growth, or media environments. - You have strong instincts for consumer value and what makes a product feel worth paying for, and understand how perception, positioning, and product experience work together to influence willingness to pay. - You can break down the path from awareness to conversion, identify the highest-leverage opportunities, and connect product decisions to downstream revenue outcomes such as ARPU, LTV, and net subscriber growth. - You're fluent in experimentation and A/B testing and are confident interpreting funnel, cohort, and behavioral analysis to make thoughtful prioritization decisions. - You know how to navigate the complexity of a global consumer business across different segments, markets, and competitive dynamics, balancing global consistency with local relevance. - You bring strong judgment about when to optimize, when to invest more deeply, and when to leave something alone, balancing user value, revenue impact, and operational cost. - You're a clear communicator and collaborative partner across product, design, engineering, marketing, research, data science, and regional teams, and you can align people around shared outcomes. - You're comfortable working through open-ended problems, learning quickly through experimentation, and adapting your approach based on evidence. Where You Will Be - This role is based in London, United Kingdom or Stockholm, Sweden. - We offer you the flexibility to work where you work best! There will be some in person meetings, but still allows for flexibility to work from home. ## About Spotify ## Company Overview - **One-liner**: Spotify is the world's most popular audio streaming subscription service, connecting users to over 100 million tracks, 7 million podcast titles, and 700,000 audiobooks across 184 markets. - **Entity Type**: Public (NYSE: SPOT) - **Headquarters**: Stockholm, Sweden - **Founded**: 2006 - **Founders**: Daniel Ek and Martin Lorentzon ## Core Business - Primary industry: Audio streaming and digital media - Target customers: B2C (consumers via Free and Premium tiers) and B2B (advertisers, artists, and labels through Spotify Advertising and Spotify for Artists) - Mission: "To deliver creativity to the world—one note, one voice, one idea at a time." ## Products & Services - **Spotify Free**: Ad-supported streaming of music, podcasts, and audiobooks - **Spotify Premium**: Subscription tier with offline mode, improved sound quality, and ad-free listening - **Spotify for Artists**: Analytics, promotion, and monetization tools for creators - **Spotify Advertising**: Programmatic and self-serve ad platform for brands - **Audiobooks**: Catalog of 700,000+ audiobook titles (market entry in 2022) ## Market Standing - **Valuation/Market Cap**: Not disclosed in available sources; stock price reported at USD 391.23 (as of 2024-10-29) - **Key Metric**: Annual Revenue EUR 17.2B; 777 million monthly users including 300 million subscribers (per Spotify Newsroom).
