Senior Python Engineer

📍 Vejle or Copenhagen, Denmark

Build and scale the technology behind vehicle data and pricing

At AutoProff, we’re changing the way used vehicles are traded across Europe. Every day, thousands of vehicles are bought and sold through our platform, connecting professional car dealers across markets.

We’re looking for a Senior Python Engineer with a strong background in Python and software engineering to help develop and maintain the services behind our vehicle data and pricing solutions. You'll work with machine learning models, APIs and data integrations, turning complex data and models into reliable, scalable solutions used across our platform.

## About the role

As our new Senior Python Engineer, you'll join our Tech & Product team, based in either Vejle or Copenhagen.

You'll be part of a team responsible for developing and maintaining services related to vehicle data, data enrichment and pricing. A key part of your role will be bringing machine learning models into production and ensuring they are integrated into our systems.

You'll work closely with the Data Science team at AutoScout24, who are responsible for training, tuning and optimising the models, while your focus will be on productionising them and building the software and infrastructure around them.

We're also increasingly working with AI-assisted development, and you'll have the opportunity to explore and apply new tools and ways of working as part of your day-to-day development.

## What you'll be doing

- Develop and maintain scalable backend services using Python.
- Deploy and integrate machine learning models into production environments.
- Build and maintain services related to vehicle data, data enrichment and pricing.
- Develop APIs and integrations with external data providers and internal systems.
- Ensure our services are reliable, maintainable and perform well in production.
- Collaborate with engineers and Data Science colleagues across AutoProff and AutoScout24.
- Take ownership of your solutions from development through deployment and ongoing improvements.
- Explore and use AI-assisted development tools to improve development workflows and efficiency.

## What we're looking for

We imagine you have a strong background in software engineering, with experience building and maintaining backend services and working with machine learning solutions in production.

More specifically, we're looking for someone with:

- Solid professional experience in software engineering, particularly backend development using Python.
- Experience deploying and integrating machine learning models into production systems.
- A good understanding of machine learning concepts and how ML models are used in real-world applications.
- Experience developing web services, REST APIs and integrations.
- Experience working with databases and data-driven applications.
- A good understanding of software architecture, design patterns and development best practices.
- Experience taking ownership of software solutions throughout the development lifecycle.
- Good communication skills in English and experience collaborating across teams.

Beyond your technical experience, we're looking for someone who is curious, pragmatic and comfortable taking ownership. You enjoy solving complex technical problems, working with others and exploring new technologies and ways of developing software.

## Nice to have

It's a plus, but not a requirement, if you have experience with:

- AWS or other cloud platforms.
- CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment.
- MLOps practices and tools.
- AI-assisted software development tools and workflows.
- Working with data enrichment, pricing solutions or automotive data.
