## ABOUT OVERVIEW AI

Overview AI is a VC-funded, YC-backed company building edge AI vision systems for manufacturing quality inspection. Our all-in-one, edge-enabled cameras are used by leading global manufacturers including Tesla, SpaceX, and Amphenol. We grew roughly 700% last year and are scaling our team globally, including a growing engineering and operations presence in China.

## WHY WE'RE HIRING

Our China team is central to how we build and ship, and hiring here is one of the highest-leverage things we can do. We're looking for a senior recruiter to own talent acquisition for the region and set the standard for how we hire. This is a seat for someone who has already run a desk at a high bar and is ready to own the function, shape the process, and be a genuine talent partner to the business. Not a req-processing seat.

## THE ROLE

You'll own recruiting for our China operation end to end, acting as the talent partner to hiring managers and working directly with the Global Head of Recruiting. You'll source, assess, and close senior and technical talent yourself, while building the playbook, calibration standards, and process that make hiring in the region repeatable and fast. You set the bar and you raise it. You operate with full autonomy and are trusted to make the call. Location: Shanghai, China — Hybrid We expect this person to be based in Shanghai, with the flexibility to work from home a few days each week. Given the pace of growth and the importance of close partnership with the local team, being close to the action is important. Travel: Less than 15%

## WHAT YOU'LL DO

Own the function

- Own recruiting outcomes for the region, from hiring approach through accepted offer
- Operate with full autonomy, anticipate blockers before they surface, and drive the process without oversight
- Set the standard for how hiring runs in China and hold the bar as the team scales
- Build the playbooks, calibration guides, and process that make strong hiring repeatable

Build pipelines and own the market

- Personally source senior and hard-to-fill talent, with low reliance on agencies
- Proactively build a healthy mix of self-sourced and inbound pipeline
- Own the regional talent map and maintain warm networks for priority and future roles
- Develop a strong understanding of the manufacturing talent market in China and build relationships across relevant talent pools

Advise the business

- Partner with hiring managers as an advisor, not an order-taker: shape the role, the bar, and the search strategy
- Screen with discipline and deep alignment to what the business actually needs
- Define what "strong" looks like for each role and bring HMs along to that bar
- Help hiring managers understand the relevant talent market, including where strong candidates come from and how to attract them

Assess with authority

- Interview to vet exactly what a hiring manager needs to decide, and push back with evidence when the read is wrong
- Give HMs the specific insight they need to move or cut candidates with confidence
- Read motivation, working style, values, and culture fit well beyond the resume
- Apply a high bar while understanding the nuances of manufacturing talent and the China market

Lead on candidates and stakeholders

- Build authentic trust with senior candidates through thoughtful, timely communication
- Tell the Overview story and attract talent credibly, without being sales-driven
- Keep candidates and stakeholders aligned across time zones, balancing urgency with a world-class candidate experience
- Mentor and raise the standard for others as the recruiting team grows

## WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Required

- 6+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, with meaningful in-house or agency recruiting experience
- A track record of independently owning senior and technical hiring at a high bar
- Strong direct-sourcing ability and proven pipeline building without leaning heavily on agencies
- Experience recruiting within manufacturing or other industrial environments, with a strong understanding of relevant talent pools and recruiting approaches
- Demonstrated HM advisory: shaping roles and calibrating decisions, not just filling them
- Self-directed, high-ownership operator who brings structure to ambiguity and needs no hand-holding
- Fluent Mandarin and strong working English for a global team
- Based in Shanghai or willing to work primarily from Shanghai

## Nice to have

- Experience standing up or scaling a recruiting function or process
- Experience hiring across manufacturing, industrial technology, engineering, operations, or other hard-to-fill technical functions
- Cross-border or global-team hiring experience
- Experience building a playbook and coaching hiring teams and potential future sourcers/recruiters
- Experience recruiting for a fast-growing company or startup environment
