We combine proprietary hardware, AI-powered intelligence, and deep integrations with the technology health systems already have in place to build real-time understanding of what's happening across their operations. That intelligence becomes the execution layer care teams have been missing, helping them make smarter decisions and deliver better patient care. Backed by Goldman Sachs and trusted by leading health systems including HCA Healthcare, Sutter Health, AdventHealth, Trinity Health, Northwell Health, Cleveland Clinic, and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, we’ve more than doubled our revenue and are rapidly scaling with a clear path toward $100M in annual recurring revenue. If you're excited to solve hard problems and help health systems deliver better care, we'd love to meet you! ## About the Role As a Sales Engineer, you are part of a team of technical experts in the Kio Advisory. You will partner with Sales, Product, and Professional Services to design solutions for the top challenges facing health systems today. You prove those solutions work through demos and POCs, and you build lasting technical trust with customers. ## What You'll Do - Partner with Sales to qualify opportunities, scope solutions, build proposals, and design implementation approaches. - Lead discovery sessions with clinical, operational, and IT stakeholders to uncover challenges and map them to our platform, with a focus on patient flow and care operations. - Deliver compelling demos, solution presentations, and PoCs that connect our technology to clinical and financial outcomes. - Field deep technical questions live on sales calls, covering data architecture, APIs, security, and integrations, and follow up with accurate written answers (RFPs, security questionnaires, architecture reviews). - Design integration approaches with hospital systems such as Epic and other EHRs, ServiceNow, and nurse call and other HL7-based systems. - Design RTLS and location-based solutions using [Kontakt.io](http://Kontakt.io) and partner infrastructure. - Create technical documentation, statements of work (SOWs), and solution designs. - Use AI tools to accelerate your own work, such as research, demo and PoC prep, proposal drafting, and call follow-up, and share what works with the team. - Bring customer feedback to Product Management to shape roadmap priorities. - Deliver onboarding and training for internal teams, partners, and customers. - Travel approximately 40% for onsite customer visits, pilots, and go-lives. ## What We're Looking For - 5 years in Solutions Engineering, Pre-sales, or a similar customer-facing technical role (strong candidates with 1-3 years and relevant healthcare exposure will be considered). - A natural presence with customers: warm, personable, and credible with both executives and clinicians, and able to explain complex technology in plain language. - Technical depth to handle tough questions in real time. You can comfortably discuss SaaS architecture, REST APIs, cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred), and security basics without needing a follow-up call. - Working knowledge of data lakehouse concepts (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake, Delta/Iceberg), including how real-time event data lands, is modeled, and is exposed for analytics. - Familiarity with healthcare integration patterns and standards: HL7 v2 (ADT, ORU, nurse call/alerting feeds), FHIR, interface engines, and integrations with Epic and ServiceNow. - An AI-forward mindset: you already use AI tools in your daily work, and you are curious about how AI and ML can improve the product and the customer conversation. - Hands-on experience with technical demos, pilots, PoCs, and solution validation. - Scripting ability in Python, JavaScript, or similar. - Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience. ## Preferred Experience - Experience with patient flow, capacity management, bed management, or similar clinical operations applications, or a demonstrated ability to interface with a clinical audience (nurses, physicians, patient access, transport, EVS). - Prior work with Epic (Bridges, Interconnect, Clarity or Caboodle) or other EHR integrations. - Familiarity with RTLS, BLE, WiFi, or other location technologies. - Networking, IT infrastructure, or hospital IT security review experience. - Docker, relational databases, or cloud-native architectures. - Direct experience supporting enterprise healthcare sales teams. Logistics, Perks & Benefits - This is a remote role with regular travel (about 40%) to meet customers. - Equity in a high-growth company scaling toward $100M+ ARR and backed by leading investors. - Full health, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k), paid time off, paid parental leave, and all the tools you need to do your best work. ## About Kontakt.io ## Company Overview - **One-liner**: Kontakt.io provides an intelligent orchestration platform for healthcare operations, using real‑time location systems (RTLS), AI, and IoT to optimize patient flow, asset management, and staff safety in hospitals. - **Entity Type**: Private (Series C) - **Headquarters**: New York, New York, United States - **Founded**: 2013 - **Founders**: Philipp von Gilsa (CEO & Founder) ## Core Business - **Primary industries**: Healthcare IT, RTLS (Real‑Time Location Systems), AI‑powered operations, Internet of Things (IoT) - **Target customers**: Hospitals, healthcare systems, and care facilities (B2B, enterprise) - **Mission statement**: “Transform healthcare with smart technology and AI – delivering exceptional outcomes at a sustainable cost.” ## Products & Services - **Supply Chain Agent**: AI‑driven orchestration that automates inventory replenishment, reduces waste, and optimizes equipment utilization. - **Access Agent**: Manages staff and patient access to resources, cutting equipment idle time, rentals, and searches by up to 80%. - **Patient Flow Agent**: Predicts bed demand, reduces ED boarding hours, and improves room usage (20% boost reported). - **Curiosity Engine**: Natural‑language analytics tool that lets operators test assumptions and generate insights from their own hospital data. - **Patient Journey Analytics**: End‑to‑end visibility from admission to discharge, targeting a 15% reduction in length of stay. - **Staff Safety**: Real‑time alerts and safety features to protect nurses and caregivers. - **Asset Management**: RTLS‑based tracking for IV pumps, wheelchairs, and other high‑value equipment. - **Hand Hygiene Module**: Compatible with existing hospital dispensers (launched March 2026).
