You’ve seen enough to know what not to do and still maintain an unreasonable passion to automate everything else. You are open to learning, evaluating and adopting new technologies. ## WHAT YOU’LL DO As a senior member of the team, you’ll play a critical role in architecting, building, and scaling the core systems that power Unblocked. You’ll work closely with other experienced engineers to: - Work independently on smaller projects and deliver them on time, gradually taking on larger projects and mentoring other team members. - Build and optimize scalable data pipelines that ingest and process large volumes of structured and unstructured data. - Build integrations with third-party services and APIs, ensuring they are reliable, performant, and secure. - Work closely with product designers and frontend developers to create and implement end-to-end user experiences that are intuitive and delightful. - Work closely with devops and security teams to ensure that our systems are secure and resilient. You will own the security and resilience of the systems you build. ## REQUIREMENTS - Based in Vancouver, British Columbia (and be in the office 4 days a week). - Expert-level software development skills in a modern typesafe development language. We use Kotlin, TS, and Python. - Experience with microservices architecture. - Experiences building well-tested, scalable, fault-tolerant systems. - Experience working with APIs and REST-ful services. - Familiarity with a Cloud Platform such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. - Demonstrated leadership of fellow team members in the delivery of a project. - Experience collaborating with DevOps teams.
